  1. Here's a little suggestion for you... GROW A BRAIN! and uh, GO LEARN SOME GRAMMAR! Ok anyway, Jagex DOES back up their system every 15 minutes, it is the perfect amout of time to do so. If something like the Falador Massacre happens then they roll back 15 minutes, people may lose some of their achievments but not a lot of the players time is lost. It would be impossible for Jagex to have the game data for a whole day backed up onto a drive at one time without having a network the size of 1/4 of Nasa's computer system. It is also near impossible for a hacker to break into the Jagex computer system. It hasn't happened (not for a long time anyway) and will not happen (I hope). Jagex is constantly monitoring their system and will know in a minimum of 2 minutes if a person has broken in. Intelligence is key in Tip.it, if you do not have it, leave. While grammar and intelligence are a must, you've got to realize that not everyone has the technical knowledge others do. I, for instance haven't a clue how to do anything computer-related beyond using the main functions of the one I own. I just notice way too many people being too harsh on ignorant or misinformed people, when I was under the impression TIF has an expectation of some degree of politeness. Although, having people spout things which are completely untrue is quite irritating. I suggest looking into or having prior knowledge of topics before posting on them with "facts" (@ original quote)
  2. Thank you, Qeltar, for your wonderful writing. I've been reading your articles for some time, and find them quite insightful. You tend to have opinions similar or the same as mine on subjects I have enough info to make an actual opinion (I'm only a mid-level player), so I suppose that makes them less likely to be criticized by me :XD: . On topic, the article was well written, and well-informed as far as I could know, and I appreciate the time and thought that must go into something like this. I am of the same mind when it comes to the honesty of JaGEx with its customers. It's deplorable to release content under false pretenses, and when I became aware of their ulterior motives when the whole anti-RWT thing really emerged, I was pretty irked (understatement). I'd probably factor the disappointments more strongly in the overall grade of the year, maybe to a c/c+. That being said, I have high hopes for JaGEx and Runescape this year. It can't hurt to be optimistic, right? Well, I look forward to more of your work.
  3. I seem to go through a sort of weird cycle in which I start out spending too much time everyday playing, and gradually lose interest until the cycle begins anew. All in all, I think it sort of balances out. I mean, I play sports, and hang out with friends and stuff, so I'm certainly not missing out on socialization. And even though I'm really bad about doing my homework most of the time, I think Runescape has nothing to do with it (I just think it's pointless). I say Runescape isn't something to regret unless you think it has had a negative influence on your personality or outlook on life. Or anything else vital to having a good life in the end, for that matter. Playing an instrument or picking up a new hobby is cool, and if you enjoy them more than Runescape, than by all means, spend your time on those instead. Or you could do both, as I do. I play Water Polo, and I'm on the swim team, I play two instruments (Bass guitar and Horn), and I have good friends. Having other hobbies is great, but is Runescape the worst alternative? I'm sure if you make a conscious effort, you or anybody else can allocate their time well enough to enjoy it to its fullest, so I trust you to make your own decision.
  4. I'm not sure if it's still possible to poison them, but when i fought them i just poisoned and went to safe spot, and waited for them to die. Using this method i did it at 76 combat.
  5. +1 +1 -1, i think with some tweaks the game itself will not have changed for the worse, aside from the wilderness change for pker-types
  6. Thanks! I have officially gone back to Runecrafting for the cash as of today. However, I am trying to decide which path I will take when I hit level 75 Runecrafting. (giant pouch) There are two methods of which I could take: Solo nats and make a large sum of money. ZMI Altar to 91 and then make whatever is left over. According to my calculations, and the help of some others, I have determined that using this method will save me more time in the long run while also bringing in more cash. Unfortunately, it will take longer to bring in the cash until I hit 91. Going from 75-91 on the ZMI altar will make about half the profits but will save me approximately 150 hours. Once you hit 91 Runecrafting, you can make 1 Million an hour, therefore, you will cover the costs and some for the time spent going to 91. Unfortunatelty, this means that it will take me longer to get to 99 Construction. I am still trying to decide, but I am leaning toward the ZMI altar. Any input is appreciated! Well, were it myself in your predicament ( I wish I was, stupid school) I would go with ZMI in a heartbeat, seeing as once you finish with 99 con, you have a great way to get some cash to get to doing whatever your next goal is. So unless you're THAT impatient to get your deserved 99, ZMI.
  7. Woah, you're flying through those levels, dev! Man, I wish I was you ..... not really, my life is ok, and I hate to think of what it'd mean if I actually did want someone else's life. Anywho, your progress is massively impressive!
  8. sorry I haven't been on in the last few weeks or however long, I know you missed my support!! :XD: Well, it looks like you've been progressing well enough without me, and you're probably gonna get 99 construction about 6 months before me. I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it to the party, but I'll try. Keep it up!!! Oh, and something about a SPAM............... ............ATTACK
  9. nope, don't really need fame to be happy though :D I'm content with training and making money
  10. Uncut ruby on ashes, try it :P holy crud, that's pretty cool
  11. am i mistaken or is that a santa on the ground in the second pic?
  12. I believe your password isn't censored when other players say it, but you cannot say it yourself
  13. This brings up a similar thought I had. What if no one skill could be more than double your lowest skill? (F2P would of course disregard the P2P skills.) The primary negative result (as they would see it) would be that true pures (both skillers and PKers) would cease to exist. I happen to think skill pures make about as much sense as teats on a bull, but apparently I'm in the minority there. As for PK pures, they of course do make sense, but as we all know the line between "pure" and "main" is becoming blurrier all the time. The scenario I suggested would force all melee pures, for example, to become rune pures, which many are already doing anyway. One positive would be that botters would be forced to round out their characters, which would "waste" their time. They would simply automate each skill of course, but it would still lessen the number of bots raping any given tree. But the most important positive (as I see it) would be a much more self-sufficient, well-rounded player base. In order to reach 99 in any skill, all your skills would have to be at least 50. That's not even a very drastic requirement, as 50 can be reached in a day, and most players who are flirting with a 99 skill are already well beyond 50 in the others. Great way to put it
  14. I recall it being May, not july.
