Mostly, I don't find it funny, just stupid. :| Most out-of hand arguments are fought be people who are beside themselves with anger, which really makes their flamewars get ridiculous after they abandon logic and reason and go into insults. No laughing here really, mostly facepalms.

He appeared intoxicated and was muttering things about shooting cops, and the cops wouldn't have known his back was broken - he would have appeared to be some drunk/high kid lying on the ground threatening them with a gun. Yes, people with broken backs that say things about shooting cops are really threatening.

Avoid giving the text a layer mode or transparency, a solid color or a soft gradient is always better. If you want it to not stand out, just use a color similar to the background.

I think it would work quite nicely, actually. That reminds me, we should get rid of the electoral college and just do straightforward voting.

How is it taught now? I quite like learning about religion and I'm a completely atheistic, nonreligious heathen. I mean, teaching it as fact and having the school make trips to services etc. Edits in (bold).

I drew it as I see the carrots I get here normally at a supermarket; They're quite rounded at the end. Background needs something, the gradient looks lateral and uninteresting. There is no gradient, those are part of Gimp-generated supernovas. And I thought it would be pretty obvious that the background was lacking, I'm more wondering what to put there instead of if it's ok or not.
