Books FTW! Two of my favorite books of all time are "The Silver Kiss" and "Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Kurtis Clause "The Silver Kiss" is about vampires and stuff, and "Blood and Chocolate" is about werewolves. Seriously, don't turn them down. They're amazing novels. I couldn't stop reading them. They take you on a marvelous journey of suspense, sadness, and the writings of a true writer and poet. Amazing.
  2. Shall I make it brutally clear to you? Here: That doesn't sound like someone who's suicidal or depressed. That sounds like someone who's making up problems for himself to draw attention. Or perhaps milking the situation for sympathy and possibly sex. It's been done before... Perhaps, but problems like this shouldn't be shoved down the suicidal teen's throat. That'll just make him more likely to commit suicide. Perhaps he is a bit spoiled, but that still doesn't exclude him from comforting words and compassion. Who knows, perhaps Hock's wrong, and perhaps he really is serious. :(
  3. He needs help, if only for the fact that all Hock has said points to a ridiculous attitude problem that needs to be corrected if this kid wants to achieve anything in his lifetime. Well, if this kid had an attitude problem, then I'm sure Hock wouldn't have posted that his friend is suicidal and needs help like that. He would've used different words. YOU see an emo brat who should just shove it. I see a mixed up teen who needs some serious help in a comforting, not brutal way. If he really cuts himself, then he is, indeed, suicidal and depressed.
  4. So, basically, you're telling me that in no way, shape, or form he's depressed or needs help?
  5. You know what? Tell him he's a selfish arsehole. People in far, far worse situations than him have put up with life and taken it in stride. It sounds like your friend is just an attention-seeking prat who's insecure about his relationship, is bitter about it, and tries to make everyone miserable as a result. Maybe you should try and find out why he wants to continually reassure himself that his girlfriend loves him rather than just having enough faith in her to not need it. He has an attitude problem, as you've said. Maybe you should have a chat with him or his parents about that. Sure, he's allowed to be miserable, but nothing gives him the right to force the same on everyone else around him. You know what else? How's about being a bit more respectful? Have you ever been through something like this? Do you know what he's feeling? Sure, he shouldn't think like this and he shouldn't do anything drastic, but be a bit more respectufl. He's going through some tough times. :(
  6. ahahahahahaha :XD:! Tell his family. The worst thing that could happen is this turns out to be more than just an "attention seeking act" and you are left with the guilt. Go to his family, talk to them about it. That wasn't neccesary. This is a serious topic. Be a bit more respectful. Look at what I bolded. I wasn't laughing at your entire comment, I was laughing that you called Del a girl. I fail to see how i'm "not being respectful"? @ Hock: Go ahead and do what you want, but I still stand by its the best to tell his parrents. Fake or not. Whoopsies......... Embrarrased. Embrarrased. Embrarrased. Del's a boy?! I'm sorry, don't mean to offend.

  8. hmmm...oh, yes! you're an idiot! :D No, he's right. By definition, all religion's are cults. "In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (often a relatively small and recently founded religious movement) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, because of its idiosyncratic practices or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture. Other non-religious groups may also display cult-like characteristics." ~~~Quoted from Wikipedia article on "cults." I think that answers my question. Christianity = religion Judaism = religion Buddhism = religion Group of mass suicidal brainwashers = cult So, please, tell me how religions, by definition, are cults? :-s
  9. I don't see how people can discriminate against suicidal people on this thread. Suicidal people aren't "bad", they're just going through some bad times or don't know what to do with themselves. My advice to you is to get him more socially active. Invite him to dances, hangouts, etc. Make sure he knows that you ARE THERE FOR HIM no matter what. Love and nurture him. Now. I'm serious. Right now, as you're reading this, go call him up and comfort him. As a last note: Listen to deloriagod for some really good points.

  20. I have another scam that people use through e-mail. My dad gets it a lot. A scammer says that they live in (insert far away country, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Israel, etc.) and they said that they just found out that their husband/themselves are dead/dying (obviously not the case in themselves). They said that the dying person knew you through a speech/long ago friendship etc. and that they want you to recieve some of their fortune (they're very rich). You respond back (supposidly) with an answer, and they somehow or another convince you to take a trip to their country. Once there, they usually capture you and sent out a ransom note. Be careful of scams people. One minute you think it's a win - win situation, next minute you're left penniless.
  21. I'd probably say Ancient Greek or Athens. It's so cool there. Lots of smart people (Plato) and togas! TOGAS! : I might also choose the Medieval or the Renaissance times. Knights, wizards, dragons, armor, weapons, shields = OWNAGE! 8-) If I ever went back to one of those times, I wouldn't change anything. I'd love it there and enjoy it so much! If only...
  22. What really suprises me is that famous celebrities, like Tom Cruise, are Scientologists. What makes them like that...uhhh..."religion"?! What do they see in it? Do they think it'll make them more popular or pleasing? :-k
  23. lol! u made real life sound like a video game with those capital letters! :XD: It's not? :o : Rushrock here to say congrats again and to wish you and your family and new baby a happy, wonderful life! If it's a boy, name it rushrock or adiosk8ing! :P
