That line is pure gold. If you don't know much more than 10 seconds about *one* metal song, how can you say one (well, actually two, since you think Hard Rock sucks too) entire genre has got no musical quality? Not even the most hardcore metalhead in the world likes the first 10 seconds of every single metal song ever. It only takes a second to realize you don't like getting kicked in the jewels... Listen to any of my examples yet? This last line realy shows you know nothing about the genre. (probaly think of it as most people do, a bunch of pointless screaming :roll: ). Yes I have. Although its to early to say what I think I'll do a little summary. I did think metal was pointless screaming. Your examples helped show that there may be something more. Although from your examples I have heard alot of what I don't like about classical rock. I've yet to pin-point what that is. In some of your examples I wouldn't say its bad but I've really got to take a closer gander before I go back on anything I said. Since when does metal mean screaming lyrics??? It usually DOESN'T. If you're not a fan of screaming lyrics, that encompasses several genres and sub-genres. To single one type of music out is just unfair. can we PLEASE stop the useless conversations of who likes metal or not???? i dont like it!!!!!!!! :ohnoes:

I wasn't bashing your taste. Metal is just bad... plain and simple. Kudos to you for giving metal groups a point to live, god knows they need one... But hey thats just my opinion... And seeing as there are so many people that like metal on this forum I need to stick up for my taste.. Care to explain why it's bad? I'm interested in your summing up all the genres within metal in one post :) . Because I see no musical qualities in it. Not only metal but most hard rock and for that matter some classic rock. I'm not saying my favorite genres always hit the mark some of the stuff I listen is really bad. But then I stop listening to it. With metal and hard rock I can't even start without stopping it within 10 seconds because its SO far away from what good music sounds like.. Why are The Beatles great? because they have musical qualities. Why is metal bad? because there is no musical qualities. That's still not explaining it very well. Why? Because different styles of metal are completly different. I could understand if your not a fan of death/black. Some people don't find a bunch of screaming musical. However, than you fail to miss on the power metal and , hell, even the smyphonic metal sound. You than have another completly different sound from Doom metal bands and from thrash. You than have drone, ect. ect. What i'm getting at is you realy can't just sum up metal with one thing. Also, I must say, I don't know how you couldn't say (out of anything) smyphonic metal doesn't have any musical quality's in it. Than again, I find it hard to belive that you think alt rock has better musical qualitys (i'm not arguing it does or it doesn't) than metal. I don't listen to alt rock (or rap, ect.) but I deffinitly see many different musical qualitys in them. To simply dismiss a whole genre because they are not "musical" is just ignorant. and, like I said, you still have failed to mention what qualities they lack. Is it in the vocals department? Perhaps lyrics, or, perhaps the guitar or drum work? Or perhaps are you talking about the overall presentation of all those instruments, ect. ect. I want to know why. :wink: overall it dosn't match up. If they play their instruments well they usually don't have lyrics to back it up or vice-versa. on the other hand alt. rock seems to blend the two alot better. But then again this is just a very vague overall reason. Like I previously stated I rarely can listen to more then 10 seconds of metal. you might be right about the types of metal. because I really don't know much about metal except that it has no musical qualitites (again my opinion). I'm open to listen to them for more then 10 seconds just to explain my self better if you want to list any metal groups that you feel have "musical qualities." uuugh! this thread that i made is about ur fave genre of music! not if metal is good or bad!!!! stick to the topic plz, leave ur complaints somewhere else :?

peewees a "mentally challenged" show for a guy that likes to lower his iq. Family guy futurama, used to watch gigantor till it got annoying and robot chicken got annoying for bleeping out too many words, and my best is inuyasha : I wtcha pe we's pla yhouses al teh time,s and mehs IQues ins't afected. Pee Wee's play house is an awesome show, and I think it's just fun to sit there and watch it. It sometimes shows old cartoons, and I like old cartoons :wink: yeah!! peeeeee weeeeeeee!!!!!!!! :twisted:
