  1. Bear in mind that the barrier for entry for any wilderness content is going to be much higher in RS3. You can't just go in with a couple of weeks worth of training and 3-400k in gear and expect to come out competitive anymore. I'd hate to be a naysayer here, but they lost their shot at the kind of wilderness that old school PvPers long for during the four years where the death of the wilderness was enforced. If they wanted to revitalize it, they should have done something then.
  2. Reinforcing that content worthwhile for higher leveled players while providing content for mid levels?...Hard requirement in the sense that you can't wield the t60 weapon without 85 strength. Mid-levels simply can't use it. Birthright of the Dwarves was a very [bleep]ed up quest
  3. That's no excuse for putting a hard requirement of 85 strength in front of t60 hammers, though.
  4. Because they're only being released to high level players.
  5. Probably, if we follow the pattern of pretty much all previous dragon items. Jagex took such a long time releasing them that they were eventually nowhere near the best gear (as they were in the early days), yet probably because for lore related reasons (dragon items are still significant in the game's mythos), they are still releasing them slowly, through high level avenues. Which wouldn't be so bad if they at least kept the requirements consistent. I mean, compare way you get the longsword to the way you get the hammers and the claws.
  6. It makes good sense. They shouldn't reward you if you didn't finish it completely. That would be similar to giving you a farming cape before you hit 99.Or they could just let the higher level locations fill up your limit even though you have 1% left and the location fills up 3% each time.So basically, like not letting you get 99 farming unless you get exactly 13,034.431 experience. Because that's a very fun metaphor :-D
  7. Hm? Like this? Ooh, this is nice. TNPW use this and post their results.
  8. Yes, that genre is tabletop gaming :twss:
  9. I like how the defense cape is just sitting there, kind of alone.
  10. Rod of seasons next pls
  11. Aye. You. Sky.
  12. This shouldn't be too hard, right? Can I go over four? Because I just might before this post is out. Or not. TNPW's post will not contain E.
  13. Alching addy battleaxes ... that's compulsive freak territory lol. No its not, it's how I make bank :( ...I want to say something snarky here, but I don't think I'm in a position to joke about the moneymaking methods of someone who does everything in 3A druidic
  14. Good for you. The rest of us want Firemaking to do something, but we're going to have to sit through another 10 achievement cape updates and 20 endgame bosses before they do so much as add a new log. All while being told (by both Jagex and players) that nothing we manage to accomplish in the meantime is worth anything unless we get a completionist cape, of course.
  15. ...Because forcing players to spend hundreds of hours on useless, unfinished, and poorly balanced content for a cosmetic reward isn't a good thing? Especially when they use a minority of players' obsession with experience as an excuse to completely change the focus of the game in a way that ensures none of these lingering problems will ever be addressed? Most of the skill chart is Cookie Clicker. Not everyone is okay with that.
  16. Huh. Guess I'm not sleeping tonight after all.
  17. Does that mean spider fursuits are a thing, though? ...A part of me wants to try to sate my curiosity, the rest knows I'll regret it.
  18. Would I be wrong in invoking this trope, then? Where skill capes were a good update at the time, but some of the trends that came with them wouldn't become problematic until they were exacerbated by other updates and metagame shifts years later? There's also the matter of skills that were trained exclusively for the cape. People only really stopped outright harassing players with Fletching, Cooking, and Firemaking capes after skillcapes as a whole fell out of fashion. Prayer and Herblore were basically the defining example of pointless grinding skills before their updates, but even then they were too expensive for the average scaper to get. After they got updates, everyone rushed to train them because you simply couldn't compete without curses/OVLs, and even then most of the community couldn't afford to do so... In that sense, you could invoke the same trope there, since those were the first overpowered as hell 'exclusive but necessary' endgame updates.
  19. It's worth noting that players didn't really start to value experience (at least in the way they do today) until some time after skillcapes came out. It's not so much that they were balanced incorrectly as it is that they were balanced around an entirely different metagame and then never updated.
  20. [spoiler=Ep 4] That ending, man. That ending.
  21. I kind of want to read that. It's hard, trust me Worse than that, it probably won't hit you until months later... Meaning that, suddenly and without warning, you'll find yourself afraid of the dark.
