  1. ...Right, how much is "Alg" going to cost me? $5? $10? If it's more than that, can I sell "A Local Guy" to the highest bidder as a way to pay for it? :twss:
  2. 5460. Now I'm going to be trapped here for days
  3. Most likely true. I used them as examples of those because Zamorak seems to be the god that they're trying to whitewash the most (from unambiguously chaotic evil to Darwinian-but-caring). Saradomin... Well, they said Death of Chivalry was supposed to give players a reason to support him, but you'll only get his "good guy" responses if you support him anyway.
  4. I'm genuinely interested in whether or not they can actually pull off an atmospheric, intrigue-heavy quest. If they do it right, it has the potential to be a great deal more immersive than any of the GM (or 'GM') quests they've released in the last few years. And it gets us away from the Gods storyline for a bit. That in itself is a huge plus. The Divination stuff seems genuinely useful, or at least different.
  5. wow such 24h many post so activity TNPW play a video game and report back
  6. Well then. Managed to beat the final boss for Dark Souls 2, which means I'm nowhere near done playing the game. I listen to the soundtrack when I'm not. I think I may have a problem. Still, have some scape: Did a Bandos run, to get back into the swing of things. Forgot prayer pots, still lasted ~90 kills... Mostly due to a lucky super rest drop. Dragon Rider Amulet OP. Got Warpriest gloves on the way, so I guess I'm collecting those now. Nothing noteworthy aside from those. Quest gave too much divination experience, may do the miniquest sooner or later solely for Azzanadra's hat. I mean, dat hat Outside of that... There is a Fire Emblem randomizer out, so I've been playing with that. If the mods would let me, this blog would be nothing but other game shenanigans and the occasional piece of artwork. [spoiler=AND VIETNAMESE CRYSTAL HAS AN ENDING] Save recovered, time to try again, after finishing up some of the other stuff in here. Few legendaries left to catch and stuff. Starting with the argent bird they mentioned in the plot dump. Who resides in the dark and terrifying island of ISLAND I forgot repels. WHY DID I FORGET REPELS Not helped by the fact that I forgot where the thing is. Eventually, I got lucky. Only to realize that I forgot to grab the item that summons it. Also, escape ropes. I should have brought those. Luckily, there's one of those exit tunnels nearby! I can see daylight and everything! ...Light shining in from an equally dark room, since this is both underground and underwater. I'm going to chalk it up to bioluminescence. Anyway, back to the side quest: I'll go with "yes", since I can't keep track of where any of this stuff is anymore. The best typo in the game. YOUNTH almost sounds like a sound effect. Surprisingly easy to miss if you're the kind of player that got complacent and stopped talking to NPCs. This actually strikes me as less engrishy than Silver Wing. And to prove that I did things right: The first of many catch rate 3 legendaries in the postgame! I really hate catch rate 3 legendaries. Especially when they have recover. And the RNG almost seems to taunt you with near-catches Canon Lugia causes storms. VC!Lugia stops storms. Next up: the roamers and [garden tool]-Oh! I'm not looking forward to this. Luckily, Entei showed up right away! As in, first route, first encounter. I will never be this lucky again. Get out of here tiny Entei, you're not what I want Much better! Is what I would say if it didn't laugh off my pokeballs even at that state. A couple of hours later, this is still the closest I've come to even seeing Raikou. And now I'm willing to pretend that [garden tool]-Oh doesn't actually exist and give Red another shot. ROUND 2 Is going well so far. One-shots for everyone! AND NOW FOR THE MOMENT OF TRUTH From there, nothing else could possibly break my save again! I have no idea how to comment on this. Luckily, neither does he. The credits, once again. AND WE'RE DONE HERE, with only minimal casualties!
  7. Time to update mine then.
  8. RuneTrack is telling me I walked away from that quest almost one million experience richer... Maybe it's just because I'm like the only non-maxed person left on the forum, but I'd say that puts it pretty far above most other GM quests in terms of rewards. I do agree that it could have been a lot better in a number of ways (because even I'm getting tired of my rants), just that the rewards weren't one of the things that needed improvement.
  9. Okay, I just have one minor nitpicky thing here.
  10. Spins Keys from Fate of the Gods gets me... ...Thank you Zaros, you're an alright guy.
  11. Hey, let's be honest here. He'd probably never see it coming.
  12. [spoiler=Pic] Yes, those are dots. All of it. Identical dots from one pen. Dots. Hours and hours worth of dots. HAPPY ZAAPDAY BIRTHS!
  13. I feel like I should recommend a few hacks here. Also managed to repetitive-stress-injury my wrist on artwork at the beginning of the week. It's probably one of the best things I've ever made, but ow.
  14. Yes. They have been doing this for pretty much the entire run of the 6th Age, and pretty openly favor Zaros/Sliske/Godless. They can't stop singing them praises out of the game and are pretty big on downplaying or nullifying their less-than-ideal qualities ingame.

    What a waste of water
  16. I'm thinking back to ye olde dayse, where the wilderness had some of the only reasonably ways to train certain skills... There was really no chance of an abyss RCer fighting back against an abyss PKer - even if they were skilled, they pretty much had to choose between bringing skilling supplies or bringing combat gear (Or rune miners, with an inventory full of ore and a pickaxe versus an inventory of food and a Ddagger). There is an inherent disadvantage there, but it's one that Jagex seems intent on preserving. If they would move away from that style, I'd be all for it.
  17. I would be agreeing with you so hard if we were playing Dark Souls. Generally, though, the problem is forcing a square peg into a round hole. Skillers are not PKers - many will never be PKers and have no interest in learning an entirely new metagame for something that they will probably never find fun (Without even getting into how painful learning would be). Especially since they're very explicit about how these skillers exist solely as prey - wilderness content has frequently and openly been designed to benefit PKers at the cost of other 'classes', and those classes are expected to be okay with it.
  18. It's the kind of thing that's about the journey rather than the destination. You're playing through a familiar game in a different way: mons that you (most likely) would never think twice about using normally and somewhat limited resources means you'll probably end up playing fairly conservatively. You say waste of 30 hours, I say an interesting way to kill 30 hours (Though I want to say my slowest run was still under that). If nothing else, you can get some good stories out of it: I took out Mewtwo in Yellow with a level 50-ish Butterfree and Venusaur (and the former was probably the MVP of the whole run).
  19. Or you can impose a limit the amount of grinding you do and make the game that much more challenging. :^_^: ...Until it forces you to train on level 30-40 mons for the level 50-60-ish elite four, but that's always awful.
  20. "Lol" winning for a troll's name. This is perhaps the lowest point in Runescape history.
  21. It's worth noting that being the zebra just isn't fun, though. Predatory gameplay like that looks good on paper, but in practice... Well, there's a reason that a big part of the community has always hated dedicated PvP'ers without exception, since Jagex seems to believe that funneling zebras into the lion's mouth (and locking them out of content if they refuse) is well-balanced content, and both Jagex and the PvP community's traditional response to any complaints was essentially "shut up and deal with it, scrub". This sort of gameplay would work if the game was built around PvP, or if the entire community was geared toward it, but they just aren't. Most players could not possibly have less interest in the wilderness and don't like being forced to lose hours of work on what can only be described as a one-sided fight... There's a reason that a sizable portion of the community celebrated the removal of wilderness PvP.
  22. Even in they were canon, virtually all of today's lore contradicts them.
  23. To avoid cluttering the Today thread: I have yet to see a difficulty mod for Skyrim that didn't just up the damage and health on every monster to absurd levels, probably on the assumption that nobody is capable of showing any discretion when it comes to avoiding min-maxing. TES in general is just kind of damage-sponge-heavy, you're probably better off finding a different game if you want strategic combat. That said, please post if you find a good one. :-P
