  1. Pokemama- Thanks! Now I can fit my exclamation point back in there : . Also - should I take the "code" section out? Is the "quote" section good enough?
  2. Aw, thanks guys. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  3. Intro This guide assumes youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve read the various guides out there and know the basics. The point of this guide is to give you an efficient path to high agility. Many guides (including the one on tip.it) give you tons of information, but little guidance. ThatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s where I come in. My guide is primarily focused on getting you to level 70 because that, in my opinion, is the most useful Agility level to get if you're not a total Agility junkie. But of course, there is plenty of advice for getting from 70-99 as well. General tips [*:2kvoee71]Wear boots of lightness. And your hunter cape if you can (cape - thanks zsandmann). [*:2kvoee71]If youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re doing a course, do the course. DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t try doing a single obstacle over and over. It ainÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t doing you much good. [*:2kvoee71]Use regular cakes as food. For several reasons explained later. Level 1 to Level 32 This, unfortunately, is the boring part (or at least the first of several boring parts). The only place to train Agility at this level is at the Gnome course. The good news is that you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t fail any obstacles. The bad news is that youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll have to go around a total of 192 times. Oy! DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t waste any genie lamps on the skill yet (or ever really), because at your level, a lamp is the equivalent of only one or two laps. YouÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll find a fun way to alleviate the boredom is to race people, and this theme will come up again a bit later. At level 20 youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll get a somewhat confusing message saying you can now do ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ålow level obstaclesÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  4. Aw! That means they don't like my guide. *searches for emoticon with face bursting out in tears. fails to find one. uses the next best thing* :(
  5. Just wondering: how long should I expect the Archive of Wisdom to be locked? (I've got some updating to do on my guide.) Also, why exactly is it locked? What does "reorganization" mean?
  6.     Duke, just trying to anticipate what you've got in the works. I imagine this would be a perfect project for a mind like yours: Someone (i.e. you) could put together an index like the Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, or the S&P 500 in the U.S. (not sure of the Netherlands/European equivalents). You could track the cost of a select few NON-rares. A much more difficult job due to the smaller fluctuations and the scope of the market. But you would pick what you considered to be the lead economic indicators for the rs economy. Like for example: [*:1l3b7hhj]raw lobs[*:1l3b7hhj]steel bars[*:1l3b7hhj]coal[*:1l3b7hhj]big bones[*:1l3b7hhj]yew logs[*:1l3b7hhj]rune ess[*:1l3b7hhj]pure ess[*:1l3b7hhj]prayer pots[*:1l3b7hhj]dragon bones[*:1l3b7hhj]dragon meds[*:1l3b7hhj]etc.I think it would be fascinating to see how the whole market plays out, and have some expert analysis to go along with it.
  7. I trained my pure using curse, and I figured out a trick. You can wear full magic gear, go down to the varrock sewer, and curse the lvl-1 rats down there. Not the giant rats. There are enough regular rats down there that by the time you've cursed all that are gathered around you, the first ones are uncursed. You almost never recieve the "this is already cursed, noob" message. As a bonus, they basically never do damage to you.
  8. I've attempted it 3 times using muggi's guides. All either failed at jad or due to connection problems. Two words of advice: 1)Bring 2 full crystal bows. I use a approximately one full one getting to jad, and you will want a full one when you get there too. 2)Bring 1 sara brew for emergencies, but use ancient blood spells for non-emergency healing. Using this method (from muggi's pure guide :D ) I only use sara brews when something disasterous happens, and I only need one (4) brew. Saves inventory space in long run.
  9. Arg! So frustrating: I'm low defense for my level, and a few weeks ago, I went for my fire cape for the 2nd attempt. Due to my defense, my fight cave tactics make for a very long run. Like 4 hours long. So on this particular attempt, I had made it up to the 2nd to last stage with plenty of super restores and a full crystal bow. I clicked "logout" before the double 360's. My plan was to take a bathroom break, watch a jad vid again, log back in and flip on mage protect immediately. This is how I did my first (unsuccessful) cave trip, and it worked fine. So after my bathroom break and watching my vids, I log back in. It goes to the opening screen (you last logged in from IP xxxxx, you have xx days of member credit remaining, blah blah...) and stops. I wait a bit. It's not moving. I stare at the opening screen for mabye 2 minutes. Hmmmmm... there was nothing I could really do. I closed the window, opened another, logged back in, and..... I'M STANDING OUTSIDE THE CAVE! ARGH! Bad connection made me waste: 1 full crystal bow almost full load of super restores a ton of blood/death runes three and a half freaking hours!
  10. It's been a few years since I've had any math, but your graph on the total construction xp looked a bit familiar. I dusted off my old graphing calculator and played around a bit until I found the two functions (slapping my forehead - duh!) that resemble it. y=ln(x) and y=sqrt(x) You say that you think the line is asymptotical -- i.e. it will eventually curve into a straight line (y = -n^-x). But is it possible that one of the above functions might describe the curve better? We might throw out the square root, because it climbs a bit too steeply. But have you experimented with trying to find a logarithmic base to fit your curve?
  11. Mini193 - Maybe you can help me understand why people keep saying that (smith in bulk = yanille) when varrock is actually 2 squares shorter.
  12. My favorite merchanting trick is so easy it barely qualifies as merchanting. Stand in the chicken shed south of varrock and world-hop to all the f2p worlds, buying feathers for 3-5 gp each. Keep going until you have 100k+. This can take as little as an hour or up to a whole day. Then go to forums and sell for 10-12gp each. More than double your money. You don't really need much cash to start this, but you'll have trouble selling fewer than 5k on forums for any decent price.
  13. More please. More serious responses would be nice.
  14. I think this has reached a point where it could be moved to the Archive of Wisdom and continue to grow there. Any mods reading this?
  15. I was really worried about it before I did it, but then I went into the final battles and they turned out to be fairly easy. My def was even 6 levels lower than yours. Just read the quest guide on the website and you'll be fine. Your only concern might be your mage def gear. If you're really worried, get your ranged up a little so you can wear better dragonhide.
  16. 0mounstro0 - That point is just a bit to contriversial for my list. But thanks for your input. Got any others?
  17. Goobore - I'll organize it if/when it gets unmanagably long. Including organizing it into f2p/p2p. In the meantime, any actual items to add to the list? P.S. - Regarding smithing, I checked it out. 13 squares from bank window to anvil in Varrock and 15 in Yanille. Not a big difference, but enough to give the award to Varrock.
  18. Free: Have people run flax for you. Stand at the seers spinning wheel and yell "Free spinning!" and trade people bs for flax. You will constantly be spinning flax at 15 crafting exp a pop, and trading the bs back to runners for more flax. You make 420 exp per load. I'm not sure how long a load takes, but it's less than a minute. That's like over 35k exp/hour. Moneymaker but slow: Make glass orbs and enchant them. Buy battlestaffs for 7k, add the orb, alch for 9.3k. Each one is TONS of exp, but gathering the materials and enchanting the orbs takes a long time.
  19. Alch at the ardy silver stall. Or really anything that respawns slowly near a bank. But the idea about salarin the twisted and sinister keys is awesome. I'm doing that next time I've got a lot to alch.
