Yes, Jagex is weaning the community off of macroed goods. If they do everything too fast, it could destabilize the economy. Macroers do influence this economy a lot. There is no way to deny that fact. If Jagex weans the community off of the macroed goods, they can eventually get the community to supply themselves. Even if the price of goods like coal, yews and lobsters go up drastically, such as yews to 600 each, the prices will be brought down to a norm again. If prices do go this high, people will flock to the goods because of the very high price. The dream of profit will flock enough people to that resource that the supply will be back to abundant. This is actually just like the case of a great new weapon being released from a monster drop. People hear about this great new drop and they are looking to strike it rich in the great new powerful weapon. Like we saw with the dark bow, the price was very high. The first dark bow was sold for 50 Million GP, was it not? My prices may be wrong, but, the idea is still the same. The first dark bow was sold for a lot of money. Eventually the dark bow fell in price. I am actually not sure of the reason why it fell, but it did. It fell to a stable 3,500,000gp - 3,700,000gp price. To exit that deviation from the main topic and to reconnect it with the main point of this thread, the tangent about the dark bow was to give an analogy. I do think that the macroers could be weaned off of the community, but if it is not done slowly and without care, it could destabalize the economy.
