Yeah, apparently we are the best country EVER. So obviously we are doing something right. Maybe we're just the best country ever at keeping records Which really isn't the best thing for the common man if you think about it :? I don't know if it's good for the common man or not - but if that's the only thing we're the best at, apparently that's what decides which country is the best. Ever. In the whole world. Because we are. We just finish top 2/3 for everything else, which gives us the best ranking because noone is that consistant in everything :)

I don't mean to be cynical, but I garuntee you that they are doing it for the fame. I played enough to know that. When I use to play I would sometimes just do stuff to help out newbies, even the ones who weren't high enough level to fame. I'm a big fan of random acts of kindness in MMOs. Without raks(as I will now reffer to it as) communities suck. They don't get involved and usually fizzle out rather quickly. Of course down the road after a community is set-up raks tend to disappear and selfish people who are only out for themselves tend to appear in the thousands, despite that they will never reach anything notable to a majority of the community.

Ok, here's my idea then. Your opening scene is that *beep beep beep* this is a test of the emergency broadcast system screen/sound. You then slow cut(that's what I'm referring to as a fade in/out screen) to an a screen with a gradient of black to clear heading across the screen(I'm assuming you know how to do this, b/c I sure as hell don't =P ) over a cell phone. You fade out the gradient into a cancer cell picture(something like this http://www.pathguy.com/lectures/db_cancer_cells.jpg) super imposed over the cell phone. That's when you(or anyone with a good announcer voice :) ) begin talking about how the gamma rays(or w/e it is that is *suppose to give you cancer) are causing today's youth to experience increased headaches, tumors, and sign of forming brain cancer(yay for liberal bs!) There's my idea of a good opening ^_^

That's not true. Name other 4+ player FPS games for console that are decent, fun and moderately easy to pick-up. Goldeneye/Perfect Dark, Timesplitters 2/3 and a few more I can't think of right now. Halo is boring since it takes itself too seriously, just a bunch of rednecks shooting spacebugs when you think about it. The only thing I like about Halo is the ghost \ LOL, Those are the EXACT 2 games that I always name when debating my friends on this topic. To be fair those two games are on the previous(preprevious now? lol) generation which makes them obsolete(classic, but obsolete none-the-less) *should have inserted something about modern or current gen fps's and lol@the SC statement ps-I've been laughing pretty much all day. It seems every pther thing I read or hear makes me laugh. It's just one of those days :D

How serious is this suppose to be? Can the actual announcement be a total joke as long as it looks and flow together good? Does it have to be so diehard that it might actually be of use to people outside of your school?

Lol, I was thinking about applying there(currently a senior in HS) there were 2 people from my school that applied there last year. One had a 4.036 weighted gpa(or something like that) and a 1400-1550SAT(don't remember) and was denied. I have a 3.0 and a 1220SAT(taking again in oct) needless to say I'm not applying there anymore :uhh: Of my original 5 choices I'm only applying to 2 based on chances to get in and am going to look for another 2-4 others to apply to

Trying being spontaneous, don't plan anything and just meet up somewhere. Unless you're the kind of person who is bad at thinking stuff on the spot(that's reasonable) it tends to turn into a chillfest at a diner, restraunt or starbucks(for me anyway)

You can argue that those religions who do go out to convert people are actually trying to help them. You see, they actually believe that their religion is going to get them into heave so what they want to do it help other people get into heaven too. It's the meaning behind the action, not the action itself. If you were to bash the religions who are just trying to increase their members so that they can gain more money, then you might have a case. and lol!@Astra's post ;)

..This thread isn't abuot stereotypes and idiocy, it's about the differences in college and job applications. I agree that by taking the race section off of most forms and replacing it with a "What country were you born in." type of thing would make selections much more fair. I've had this idea before but never really ran with it(one of those ideas that you just forget when you get distracted >_>). I guess you can argue that those born on American Indian reservations could be considered a different country(Since AFAIK they don't have to follow the US laws, but I'm sure there are certain restrictions and stuff.)

ok, so I recently got WMP 11 and as i turns out, I don't like it. So what I've been trying to do is revert back to WMP 10 but I am unable to install it. I have the installation files for it, but when I run them I get a "A newer version of Windows Media Player is running on your computer. Setup cannont continue." message(or something along those lines. I've tried to delete the old files out of the C: drive but if I try and delete the folder the "This folder is currently being used by one or more running processes."(or something like that >_>). Any suggestions or am I just stuck with WMP11 D=. Also, I have windows XP Pro as my OS if that makes a difference.

At your age you don't need a resume(at least here in the US) go to the place that you wish to apply for and pick up an application. Don't be too picky about the hours you work because then you won't get hired(has happened to me and I've seen it happen). If you don't get a phone call within 3 buissness days call the place where you applied to check on your application, they like to see you being assertive. They will most likely give you a test of ~100 questions to see if you are right for the job, lie your [wagon] off and give them all answers that they want to here. If you are deadset on writing up a resume it'll look pretty terrible(I know mine does :oops: ) but at the bottom put recommendations upon request(since you don't have any, it will give you time to get a few together incase they ask =) )
