  1. Ask around and find out the minimum age to work at some places. Over here in VA you get a workers permit when you're under 16-but it leaves you with limited hours so they're less likely to hire you. Or if you have connections you find out which places are hiring and try and get an app for there.
  2. I start by browsing the topic titles, and if I feel that I might want to open it but might not then I'll look at the starter.
  3. My view of a conversation is that there are one or more people talking back an forth multiple times. A question such as "what is your favorite color?" with the answer of "blue" doesn't fit into my definition so I don't consider it a conversation. I put stuff like that on the same level as exchanging pleasantries. Yes, they can evolve and when it does then it can be considered a quality thread, but most of them don't. I never said that there was something wrong with it or that there had to be deep discussion, just that there has to be some discussion. There's nothing wrong with threads like that, but I consider them spam. The thing is though that my view of spam is very wide and even though I consider it spam I don't think it should be locked/deleted.
  4. Yes Although enjoyable, they often end in spam... Example: I live in USA 'What part' Florida 'What part' so on and so forth... Why is that spam? Spam is something that is meaningless...if people are enjoying a good conversation about things like that - why not? Isn't that the point of the forum? Except that's not a conversation, if it were a discussion about what it's like where they live(like the one thread on this forum) then it's ok, but just going "Where do you live?" is just spam. The opening post cannot end with "Discuss."
  5. nah, chilli dogs actually have chilli on them, normal hot dogs are still hot dogs in the usa (or "dawwgss" if you live in detroit) USA [garden tool] = Prostitute, UK Hoe = Gardening Implement. USA Tire = UK Tyre Correct... iv got a hoe in my shed atm a hoe is a gardening tool in the US too. Pop culture won't change that definition because there are no other names for it.
  6. I use the term bumper all the time and so do most people I know.. but now I know why it's called a fenderbender >_>
  7. Children of Men That was one great movie. That long shot you guys were talking about was my favorite part of the whole movie Memento watched this for a second time, it was great the first time, but as it seems that happens with me, I missed the one crucial line at the end of the movie that tied it all together which made it even better than before
  8. If you're not good with people, I think being a cashier would be great, since it'd help you get better people skills. And honestly I'd imagine most people who aren't 'people persons' would prefer to be one - they're just not so great socially. All it did is piss me off all the time. It's very personality dependent I guess since I don't really want to be a people person as I deem it worthless(talking to people I'm good with, but talking to be people that I'll never see again and don't affect my life in anyway after those 2 seconds is just annoying)
  9. FLCL Hellsing Samurai Champloo Full Metal Panic
  10. If you're not a people person, don't be a cashier. Worst job ever. Inventory is the best :)
  11. You live in North America, but what part? Viktor said he heard of tornados in the southern part of the US-not South America Get that window closed. The wind could easily knock things over if it's as strong as you say it is. No need to lose valuable items if you can easily prevent it. If there really is a tornado, you want to keep the window open. The pressure difference causes windows to break(I forget if they break out or in, but they do break)
  12. ROFL! If I had some room left in my signature that would be siggied! #-o Anyway I'm 15, turning 16 shortly... Guys, guys, chill. No, i'm not 42 years old, nor I am a virgin. I thought people would catch on to my joke, and not have it taken seriously. I'm 17. I thought they would have caught it too :?
  13. As far as I know my family only has had 1 problem with lost luggage, and that just ended up in denver instead of kansas Since you can take cigarettes on the plane i highly doubt anyone would bother you about a pipe. Just plan out what you'll do in the airport and on the plane-the time stacks up more than you might think
  14. Super Mario World I spent hours upon hours playing that game when I was a kid. Honorable mention to Final Fantasy X-not because it's so much better than everything else, but because it got me into tons and tons of other games(Starcraft, HL1 and FF7 to name a few)
  15. I was at this one house with some friends and it had a pool table and the top of a ping pong table to lay on top of the pool table-worked perfectly
  16. It's an optional rule that you should state at the begining of a match I usually play with it
  17. The first time I took it I barely made it haflway through the test before failing >_>
  18. Every once in a while I'll do a little road trip to California, and after a couple of days driving there I come home and see myself driving "California Style," which would be driving 10 over, winding in and out of lanes, etc. Have fun driving, be safe, etc. As long as everyone is driving the same speed isn't not so bad. In Chicago everyone does 80 on the 55 highway, but it's everyone(well, some people do 70-75) so it's not crazy.
  19. That's what it was like with me. Now that I have my license I'm just not allowed to drive either of my parents cars, and my dad won't fix mine  My parents put my car in storage for the winter (sports car + snow = bad) so I have to drive my mom's Jeep Grand Cherokee when I want to go places :( What makes it so bad is there hasn't been any snow here yet! No snow? How'd Iowa miss that Blizzard that rolled through Colarodo then hit Chicago and them(I think that was the same storm) I'm not allowed to drive since I'm not good enough for my dads truck.. and my mom says it's because I'm not insured. They both said I could drive after I finished getting my license
  20. That's what it was like with me. Now that I have my license I'm just not allowed to drive either of my parents cars, and my dad won't fix mine  Just don't get nervous about driving. The basics are easy and after that everything just falls into suit(well.. except for parallel parking and to a lesser extent backing into places)
  21. Vertigo Great movie, didn't expect the turn that happened nor the ending 9/10 Volver  Great movie. I don't know how to describe it. 9/10
  22. I've seen it. It was ok, but the repeating fish theme was the best part :)
  23. You have to take into account that this was the first one and was ment to have a storyline and not just have explosions with a plot that goes nowhere fast then ends up with 42098423095 twists in the end :)
  24. ~140 I need to gain some weight, I want to be 160-180(I basically just need to eat more since I already work out)
