Why not? It's to show who they are. You don't really see others doing that except Hollywood Undead and The Sound Of Animals Fighting (though that's not really a band, more like a group), and they all came AFTER Slipknot.

CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS BABY. I'm going to see them at the Rose Bowl when they play the Bruins in November! It's gonna be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I hope they make the Rose Bowl or BCS Champiosnship this year. We won't get far though if Nate Longshore gets first string, either that or he's going to have to pick up the pace.

It's really weird, I know. Like, when you start wearing tight jeans and then you wear a loose pair, it feels extremely big on you. You could go get some Levi's slims, I look downright decent in a pair of those. I hate that.. I was forced to weara pair of those slim-ish [bleep]ies for some event, and I felt like I was wearing one of those pairs of super baggy pants that gangsters wear. Then I looked in the mirror, and they looked just like any other pair of straight pants. Anyway, I own a pair of those Levi 511 black jeans (the skinny ones) but I have bigger calves than most people, so it looks like they're 510's or something.. so I've had to retire those. My legs are big period, but I still look nice in tight jeans. Maybe it's just because I'm me... 8-)

It is a sub-genre. It's elements metal fused with hardcore punk (I assumed you knew that already though). While you guys may hate the genre for any reason whatsoever, there are people who LIKE it. That's why it isn't metal (yes I added elements because that's what it is). That doesn't make it metal, though. Speaking of which, why do people want their precious -cores to be metal? Why does it [bleep] matter? Also, how do two great genres (hardcore punk and metal) fused together suck so [bleep] bad? It's a travesty, because it should be so [bleep] good! but it [bleep] sucks! Oh, and I assume you know EVERYTHING about metal. And the last paragraph is very opinionated. <_<

I'm going to have to agree with mrpez. Your family is well, your family. They're (usually) the people who are closer to you personally. Don't go call the cops on them, or it's going to suck. Deio, everything mixes. Just some things don't go together well.

Most Emo's I know (and I know quite a few) are the people that don't really fit in any social groups, they become depressed and do the whole, "emo" thing. Now first of all they didn't fit in anywhere because they were either boring, stupid, immature or something like that. Wearing dark isn't gonna change that, they're still the same immature (example) person . A lot of "bad" people like that turn Emo, which is just a large group of unpleasant people, that nobody likes. 2) Stop complaining about how your life sucks and change what's bad about it. Try not to be a [bleep] to people, or get some friends or whatever. Instead of crying and whining (and cutting :o ) do something about it. Emo's are just normal people that can't change their life around turning into loosers. 3) What the hell is up with the whole "wear dark" and "listen to goth music [cabbage]?". That's just mainstream, I bet if all the depressed people started wearing pink, your average emo will start wearing pink too. Be somebody. I do kinda agree with the third reason, but not the others. It's not all the immature, idiotic, and boring kids. I've seen extremely happy people go to an "emo" phase. I won't lie, I did go through mine (this'll start a riot, oh god). But rest assured I didn't wear all black and dressed goth. I actually wore pretty baggy clothing, but my hair was long and over my eye. But the chics digged my hair though. :

I enjoy Heavy Metal and very little Mel Black. If you want sub-genres on there, you have to put up metalcore. It's just gotta be there.
