  1. *Wonders why a mod has not stepped in to say "please stay on topic"...then realizes that mods are participating in the arguement* Seriously guys, we are all guilty of being really off topic, and have hijacked this thread. It surprises me how far off tangent this forum can go on these sorts of subjects. Just respect that the other guy has his opinion, and stop bickering like children. Otherwise I may just contact an administrator, this is really getting out of hand. Make a topic called "Darwin-lovers vs IDiots" or something.

So just because he got several Nobel prizes means he can be excused for murder? The kids in these gangs need to learn his lesson. He will be paying for his crimes, and it does not matter if he has reformed or not. You cannot excuse capital crimes just because you like the guy. Besides, his messages will mean more in death than in life. It puts together a much more important message than him being released. Oh, and gang warfare has killed over 12,000 people since the Crips were founded. That's 12,000 people who have died for turf and the color of thier shirts.
  3. Yes it is. Even these little viruses are life forms, and they were put on Earth for a purpose. Most likely to keep down population and reduce food consumption. Sorry if it offends you to think of humans as numbers. There's a place for everything and everything is in it's place. At least according to Intelligent Design. And just because you dont agree with a theory does not mean you can go around making fun of it (ie IDiocy). We are not flaming Evolutionism, please return the favor.
  4. Exactly, Stevester. The schools need to present both sides of the issue. It is unfair on both sides to just simply say "I don't believe in it, so it shouldn't be taught". Several sides of the issue should be discussed, all as theories (since nobody has yet to prove any side correct beyong a shadow of a doubt). I agree that what Kansas is doing is wrong, but that really isn't the topic here. The topic is the violence that transpired. That is just the work of a small group of closed-minded people who really did not think about thier actions.
  5. What kind of razor are you using? I use disposable 3-blades and shaving gel, and usually (even after getting half a beard after a week) I managed to get it smoother than a babies...well, you know :P.
  6. The big bang THEORY is a THEORY based on evidence collected so far. What's more you have completely misrepresented it, in school we were taught about how the world came to be from this one event (hydrogen atoms & ions joining to form other elements, gravitational pulls between particles eventually causing build up of particles and eventually planets), and had you known more than a passing glance at the big bang theory, you'd know that it's not claimed to be one event - it's a cycle. However the arguer from first cause is not comfortable with the notion of an uncaused event (big bang, should you choose it as the start of the cycle) but are quite fine with uncaused entities (god). Yet within that lies another farce - how did said entity come into existence? Surely that would be an event. Pray tell, what did god do before he created the world? Sit around twiddling his thumbs? Typical of religionists to be egocentric in considering the time of our and our planet's existence to be the the very beginning of existence itself. Yeah real mature, try and stick your ill-thought-out knife in then ask that no one says more on the subject. Clap clap. I was using the big bang as a light example. Forgive me for not being read up on the latest scientific journals, as that is not my area of expertise. Since I'm only two years from teaching history, I try to focus on that instead of passing time pondering the universe (if it isn't broke, dont worry about it...thats my philosophy on the subject). And your last comment is equally immature. Its simply a kick below the belt after the fight is over. You can believe what you wish to believe, I can believe what I wish. I was simply stating that it is illegal to teach a single side of the issue, and the Supreme Court will most likely overturn Kansas' act. Letting the kids decide is the only way to keep from pissing everybody off. And to those who say theories are the same as theorum's... Theory: Tested hypothesis that has not been fully accepted as fact. Theorum: Tested hypothesis that has been general accepted as fact. Law: Tested hypothesis that has been proven as fact. Considering physics, science, and math is still mostly guesswork thought up by one guy usually, its easy to see why there are thousands of theories and only a handful of laws. When dealing with the unseen, it takes time and advancing technology to prove it true. It might take hundreds of years, but eventually it will happen.
  7. That is not the issue, the issue is that they were going to FORCE creationism on the kids. As opposed to forcing Evolutionism. The issue of how the world came about should just be left to the big bang with a note that the students can think whatever they want happened to cause it. Please don't let this topic be hijacked and turned into a massive flame war between Creationists and Evolutionists. (Not saying its you, Herr, but its been happening already).
  8. Its actually illegal in any public school to not provide alternatives, and this works both ways. We got a science teacher fired for only teaching Darwinism. Anti-creationists often say that Intelligent Design is not fact, therefore it shouldnt be tought. Well, Evolution is only a theory, and has never been proven. So...thats why its illegal to only teach one concept. And saying that America is backwards because one group of idiots did something is like saying the South are all racists because of the Ku Klux Klan.
  9. ar-dough-ne Gielenor (formal name of Runescape): Guy-len-or
  10. The mace's advantage is the prayer bonus. Maybe a +2 to crush. Personally, I would rather the Rune Warhammer get a higher attack potential. I've only seen one rune warhammer in my entire career being used.
  11. We had a $200 synthetic that was 12-feet tall. We ditched it this year for a prelit 7-foot that cost like $59 at Sams.
  12. The world 66 law company makes in theory 272 million laws a week (assuming 50 crafters at any given time at maximum productivity working 24/7, which is pretty much the case at any given time). As this illustrates, High Alchemy is not the only way inflation occurs. Luckily, most of these laws are removed via teleportation. High Alchemy does not have this luxury.
  13. Sorry, taking it back ^^.. I actually ment you were somewhat fanatic early in the thread I pointed too though, sorry if you disagree with that too :P. And yeah it definately was a great discussion back then. :) As for this thread.. Discussion is not done by only respecting and listening to people who agree with you. ;) I would respect your discussions if they were on topic. I thought you would have some very nice views on money sinks. Feel free to talk about them, even if they are completely different ideas than mine. I would like to hear it, just realize that my ideas have nothing to do with devaluing the hats. I wouldnt want to put merchants out of a job.
  14. ^^ If my screenshot program hadnt expired, I would have a screenshot of him saying "law me". Of course, I didnt think of taking one and posting it on the boards, because he's just a normal player.

People talk alot about how this is the 1000th US execution since the ban was repealed. People say its all grim that 1000 people have been executed, and focus on that number as a milestone. Well guess what, the number of people who were murdered by those 1000 convicts numbers almost 2000 people. Not to mention the thousands more of family, friends, courts, etc that were touched by both the murder and the trial. Do they not deserve justice?

I got to level 11, then quit. The people abusing automatics was too annoying. A revolver versus akimbo UZI's is impossible.
  17. I still think the wise old man scene is just making fun of the greed over those hats. Im glad I have your support, and another person who cares to read things on the issue at hand instead of getting all worked up and offended. And I will try to remember the "l" :P.
  18. PM Jagex and ask for a list of every tradable item in the game, and you might get lucky and recieve one. Then add up the prices, theres your GDP, which is innaccurate since 60 million gp probably game into the economy while you waited.
  19. Congrats, you now belong to the 5 people who have posted on this thread who actually get the idea. There's really no point in selling hats to the trader, since you would get less money from him than you would get from other players. It would'nt even drop prices that much, because it is a gradual release of the item, and a white party hat from Larry would still cost 90 million (or whatever the price is now).

No, he will just marry a girl like Kate from "Taming of the Shrew" and have a long, happy, and violent marriage. :P
  21. Thanks Jelleh. For those of you who havent read the first post, the idea is to get money out of the economy. My simple idea was a rares trader, with prices adjusted based on player prices (which means no loss to merchants at all) and just provides a convenience for people buying a party hat and not wanting to merchant. The hats stay the same price (hell, maybe even rise due to enterprising merchants) and money is removed from the economy en masse. It doesnt even have to be a rares trader, let your imagination go wild. We just need a hardcore money sink, since Miscellania and Barrows are not getting the job done.
  22. Since Ipinkus! and I have yet the same opinion on rares in that thread, too? Perhaps your opinion on this topic will change when you get on topic and read that it has no effect on party hats and rares, unless you read what Shiva said. If you have something wrong with the monsters dropping crackers, you can spam his inbox or something, which he would not appreciate. I am sorry you have your ego to nurse, and cant be bothered to read things unless it says "party hat" or "money". And yes, it felt nice to be rude.
  23. Take gas as an example of inflation: When I was born, gas cost $0.86 per gallon. When I started driving 16 years later, it was $1.25. Right now, it is $1.99. Why is it so high after 4 years? Because situations around the world (war, 9/11, Katrina, etc) caused prices to go up. Its the same with Runescape, except odd. People say there are fewer rares in circulation which somehow doubles thier worth in 4 months, but I am getting off topic. There is too much money coming in from high alchemy. Real world economies do not have magic to make instant money. The same is moderately true of the RS economy. We dont have a gold standard, so the value of money is in each person's head. People pay too much for an item and BAM! The price increases immediately.
  24. Thank you. I am sorry that my idea is targetting a single group. It seems any effective money sink is unpopular to whatever group it is aimed at. Like someone said, normal armor repairs would be a good money sink, but it would not be fair to lower levels. Unfortunately, there is no way to create effective money sinks without ticking people off. Thanks for the input and support.
  25. I never intentionally flamed merchants or party hat owners, more power to them. I dont agree with the trade of these items, but I take Ipinkus!'s advice and ignore them. I just think there is too much money in the game. Its unfair to the merchants, because just as they get enough money to buy a hat, the price shoots up again. You say I am too poor to own one...of course I am. Ive already stated that I dont want one, much better things to spend my meager earnings on. In fact, Anarith has owned many party hats, and he pretty much stated that first paragraph. I dont see anybody flaming him. Oh yeah, thats right...he's a rich level 115 with 85 slayer...compared to a pathetic level 91? The point of this paragraph is...I get really annoyed about the people who spam inflation topics saying that people who post inflation topics are too poor to afford a party hat and therefore hate them.
