Get into using curves. You can change pretty much anything using curves like contrast, color, lighting, etc. Example:

Thanks. I've been updating my dA quite a bit now, take a look? :^_^:

Here's a little something I made. Had God of War/Cerebus/Temple theme in mind. Could be used as a header statue like a statue thing on the hood of a car. IDK.

That's probably exactly what I wanted to know. Nothing else to say really, you're pro.

Oh, thanks anyway. Edit: Added full size to first post.

All I want is a straight answer. Every website on the internet is done using some program and some way in which I could learn. People do it by hand, use dreamweaver, joomla, wordpad, idk. What I want is a website that tells me straight up what to get and how to do it but every coding site I go to has something different and some different lingo like HTML and CSS+ or whatever. Anyway, I updated the first post.

Ok, what program should I use? I know that dreamweaver isn't what a lot of people use because of the dynamic sites I've seen with cool transitions and such that people have on portfolio sites.

I have Dreamweaver and hoping to learn to use it but I don't really see the point because I don't have a website or know how to get one. D: Though I know that you can preview the design in html after I code it and travel through the links as if it were a working site. Other comment: I will take a while to load if I code it using high quality pics but when I go to optimize the images in PS I can lower the quality enough so it will be fast. Well if you wanted to convert it to an actual functioning menu you would need to do more than optimize the images. You'd want it to be dynamically generated for any number of menu items, for example. If you decide you want to try to make it the real thing, throw me a pm, I'll see if I can give you a hand. More than likely I'll just send you off to dsavi though :P Whoa whoa hold on. I'm like the cat in your sig when it comes to coding. It scares me. But yea, I would like to learn as much as I can. Dreamweaver preview is pretty crappy, you can just open up the HTML file in firefox or something. The resolution feels weird on it but you said you can easily make it larger? It's hard to see how it'd work well at a small size and without any dummy text or something. HTML is the only thing I'm familiar with but even so, I'm still new to it. CSS and other stuff like that is like a foreign language to me. The image in the first post is reduced 50% so it's not hard to change the text if it's too dark or anything else.

[hide=Oldest][/hide] [hide=Older][/hide] [hide=Old][/hide] [hide=New+Full Size][/hide] Just a preview, the original is twice as big. I know how to make such a thing but I never really had the time to attempt it so just 3 days ago I sat down, messed with the styles and came up with one that I really liked. It has a Castlevania/mechanical theme and probably only 1/4 of the way done. I still have to add more detail to the header, more "slots" or whatever to include the links in and some other little thingie ma-bobs. I'll bring it to full size when it's done. :D
  13. Lol @ all my questions. I got the Ps > Dreamweaver down path now that I researched it, all I need to know is how to register(?) for a domain site thing or whatever.
  14. So this is how you want the letters? If you have any ideas of how you want it to look like, such as a simple logo, 3D, filters, tribal, etc. Just say so. :P
  15. I like the new one because the old one looked like it was made by a newbie of website design (sorry). Btw, if I understand correctly, coding it slicing a psd with the slice tool, saving as a html thing, import it into dreamweaver or joomla or whatever, linking the pictures with other links, then uploading it to a domain thing? >_>

Go ahead. I made the blue moon to use as an avvy and right after I made the eye. >_>
  17. How do you turn a psd into a working site?
  18. Soa replied to Soa's topic in Art and Media
Never knew you didn't like it.

:twss: It was one of the first games I bought for ps1 and nothing has compared to it ever since. I'm still waiting for LoD2 or a prequel.

Here's 2 little avvys I made, in the mean time. The second one is a moon. If anyone wants something similar made, just ask. :twss:

How's this? It's supposed to be a.. nothing. Just a random design with some filters. Need some ideas on what to do next like a face with a weird. . . something integrated into it. idk, lol.
  23. Soa replied to Hawks's topic in Art and Media
I'll help a little. Only thing I would do now is use a finer tip pencil like a f or b and add more detail or a lot of contrast so it dowsn't look flat.
  24. Soa replied to Dreamtongirl's topic in Art and Media
I love your third piece because I love high contrast. It's a portrait but there's no tone on basically the whole face which is an actual illusion that there is a face. When really there's only hair, eyes, lips, etc. 10/10 ^_^
