I want your god damn car. Try using layer masks for the blur. Duplicate the image, blur it, add a layer mask to it, then use a black to white gradient going from one corner to another.

Here's the plan. I just finished the first year of Visual Arts in my college which is a 2 year program. I graduate in 2011. After this college, I might go to a more advanced college (I think it's a college) to do graphic design. Sitting to a desk and computer all day isn't what I REALLY wanted but at least it's in a field that I like and where I can make some money.

    Bah, got two done.

It's going to be pretty busy for me this week and weekend so please, no more requests. I might not even get around to doing the ones already here. D:

Omg wow those are lame, I really need practice. Should also download inkscape.
  6. After next year I'm probably going to do a graphic design course and I want to get a little head start. I just want random ideas thrown at me to see what I can come up with. Basically you 'invent' a company name and what they do and I'll just make a logo or two to go with it. This isn't serious as I just want some practice. The more ideas the better so you can request 2 or 3 in one post if you want.

It being feathered is probably what it is then. I just saved the image and opened it in paint which automatically turned it black.

There's still white up there. :s
  9. Not really, it's just.. different. Not novice though.
  10. There are people who become speechless just looking at something but I just became.. mindless. It's very random and I don't know what to comment on. Nice use of chiaroscuro? I guess.

    Everything looks smudged.
  12. http://www.mediafire.com/?5uibmjzyzgd Have a go at it.
  13. If the last one was a full sized image it would've made a great wallpaper.
  14. Yes, Gimp.
  15. I havn't seen any digital paintings from mxm, so I don't think he's a digital painter. He's just updating his older sigs.
  16. Sorry man, but if you wanted the text like this, the program I'm using can't do that. Illustrator can maybe. Also, I changed it if you hadn't noticed. D:

I don't see any empty spaces.

You don't need C4D's to make a sig. You could easily added the render to a anime background and added more smaller renders in then blend it to turn it into a photo manip sig.
  19. So a wave like this? Of course it's gonna be blue/green/white with a sky and everything. Edit: How's this?

Do you know what would be cool? A drawing thread where you can ask questions, post sketches or other useful knowledge. I've been taking drawing classes since september and I'm pretty sure I can help.
  21. So where's the new pixel. :-$
  22. Soa replied to Hawks's topic in Art and Media
Go over the lines in a HB or F or other thin pencil in dark lines and try to clean up the image by erasing around the new lines. Then you can shade in the details using the same thin pencil if you want to include loads of detail, or you can use the pencil you originally drew your image with but have more control. Basically: Lineart -> Cleanup -> Shading. WinWin
  23. ^ That's a lens flare, and I quite like it.
  24. Off topic but Skully your sig just makes me want to go Colours -> Curves irl and add some contrast. It really bothers me whenever I see your post.
