  1. 10K boss kills.. Amazing. You deserve it. I'm interested to know what's your longest dry streak and the approximate drop rate for you? I've had a dry streak of 330 kills (not motivating especially when you're doing it solo). Overall for me it's a 1/50 rate for Armadyl armour and 1/400 for hilt.
  2. Technically it's not a form of merchanting, but speculating / investing. if you wanna get technical about it  but you can still buy in the median region and re-sell in the high region for a lot of items if you have the patience...and knowing that the GE takes "places in line" and knowing the average times that it updates (around 9 am to 2 pm eastern...sometimes on rare occasion 5 pm), you can get first in line before anyone else. let's say a pure essence is at max price of 135 each and EVERYONE is paying 135 for it. being the first one to be there when the price changes and you put in for 5 million essence at 136 each...you'll obviously get precedence before people who failed to update their GE in time. knowing that one principle is quite useful...event though it sounds so basic and like "common" knowledge. people called my staking tips common knowledge after i released them (after the duel arena was killed), yet i never saw them doing the same and guaranteeing themselves billions as i did. now let's look @ an item that has a range and is buyable for all prices...like runes. chaos runes were possible to purchase for 105 each fairly easily, if you put in at a good time. they were also easy to sell for the max price to people who don't have the patience to wait and need them ASAP. they'd put in for a much higher price and get them right away. so then this brings back old fashioned traditional merchanting. taking a fairly stable item that will move slightly up/down depending on the time of demand...but overall stay straight course (gold ore is a good example). btw, if anyone wants to know an item that's sky rocketing you should look @ cosmic runes...they're making me 20M daily :P This guy knows what he's talking about. Understanding how the GE system works is what will make you millions - not looking at some graphs and jumping on a speculation bandwagon. You may make a couple of gp but in likelihood your chances of getting burnt are much more. I made 150m this week and it wasn't from merchanting pure ess, marrentill or ashes.. :P
  3. Calculations are fairly accurate. If you wear weight bonuses and have a decent agility level (65+) you can easily do 3 trips per super energy pot. From my experience going for 99 xp rate was roughly 17k p/hr average through the abyss. A perfect hour would net you roughly 4.4K nats and 20k p/hr xp. Sold those and got a set + more. At the time blues were around 60M. It's still a good way to make constant cash.
  4. Hah! Dragon pick in a warzone? It's sounds to be a promising month and will be interesting to see what the godsword is referring to. I'm expecting it to be a massive update similar to the slayer dungeon. From behind the scenes. I would really like to see 3rd Age weapons (sword, staff, bow) to compliment the armour

    RS 3D

Who says you can't do both? The beauty of Java is that it was designed to be easy to use and accessible, however because it relies on a virtual machine as a trade off it is comparatively slower than other languages ie C++ which is the main language used for games programming today what this engine is coded in. For graphics to be like this Jagex will need to completely rewrite the game and change their business model and target audience demographic. Currently RS runs from a browser and is predominately aimed at the lower age demographic who has less cash to throw at higher end PC gear, which will be needed to run this sort of environment smoothly. You can bet that membership fees will also be substainally higher due to higher costs involved with operation and development so I doubt we will be seeing a revamp in graphics anytime soon.
  6. Nice story, although you may want to paragraph it. I read to the very end and thought "oh no" when you mentioned scammed. Congrats on the reward - always great to have a piece of armour just magically appear in your inventory :D 10/10 for persistance 8/10 for story
  7. In my opinion it was a combination of guilded altar, pest control and a larger number of dragon hunters. The new prayers are hardly useful outside of pking, so i don't see how the current demand can be sustained in the long term.
  8. I know enough to be employed as a systems administrator. If you believe bruteforce cracking and masquerading destructive programs as legitimate forms of hacking then you've got a very dim view on it. FYI you can't play RS on your schools proxy because port 443 used by SSL is not allowed not because you CAN'T. One of the reasons why it is commonly setup this way is so they (the admins) can monitor everything you are doing on school property since it is possible to record every information to and from the server without the need to decrypt. Yes the main runescape website is not encrypted, however the RS client has 128-bit encryption, if you know anything about authentication, you would know that using a proxy as a middle-man can potentially allow someone (by comparing hash) to crack your password in a matter of hours rather than days (all while offline!) bypassing the lockout imposed by Jagex. Any smart hacker is not going to wait 5 seconds on each attempt, esp when modern PCs can do 10 million comparisions/second. EDIT. The lockout is enough to deter most people who claim to do "hacking" from trying to find someones password using trivial methods such as brute force, dictionary cracking or just plain guessing.
  9. They haven't been hacked because they aren't stupid/careless/arrogant enough to get KEYLOGGED. Using brute force or planting a backdoor/trojan/keylogger is not hacking. If i were you, I would also not play Runescape through a public proxy. Most proxies are unecrypted meaning all data sent to and from your PC to the server is available for anyone to read including your login and password. Just my 2c
  10. It's illegal, when Jagex says "Third Party" they are not meaning a relationship between three entities but rather any relationship which is not authorised/endorsed by the original party ie the IP owners (Jagex)
  11. No you can't as confirmed by Mod Nexus on RSOB http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?15,16,130,47269284,goto,11
  12. It will drop a black hole and then Runescape will be consumed
