Its a fighting minigame so... U could die there but u will not lose items. If u die u will be standing outside with a bit tokkul in ur inventory. never run away, cause then u will hold ur hp and prayer low. If u dont get to the end there, just die. U will never lose things there

update ur RAM or install a faster internet card, u could also clock ur pc but that could cause other problems of ur pc. playing at low detail is useful too, if it also lags at low detail... try above

At higher smithing lvl u could alch mith shields and stuff, but bows (mage bows and yew bows) are very populair

...and bring a chisel too. U will not be attacked again by the monster.. so, That wouldnt cause any trouble :
