  1. I was interested in the urns, but yeah they are not very practical at all. The only ores i smelt in large numbers are gold ore....and the smelt urns dont work with gold bars (or am i doing something wrong) The wc ones dont work with ivy...although i might bring one on farm runs. The cook urns......really is there anybody who does not have 99 cook allready? The prayer urns are nice vs lessers or greaters, but the xp for the infernal ashes is high enough to bank them and save them for your house altar (or sell). You dont bring your bonecrusher to dragons either. The mining and fishing urns are not that bad tho, although the xp of the mining urn is really strange compared to the rest. and about the dying (or dead) content: its very hard to keep that in check i think. But yeah with some updates you really wonder if Jagex put any thought in it at all. The charm sprites are a good example, that was allready dead on the second day of release. I have used it a few times to get my strange rocks, but although the concept was not bad at all i just stopped doing it cause the charm rate was so annoyingly slow. If that was just a little bit better i would not even have mind the slow(ish) hunt xp.
  2. the second article is spot on!! ranging and maging is totally pointless above the first few floors. I got a tier 10 longbow with 125 tier 10 arrows and half way through one of those gluteanous beast (totally misspelled) boss fights i ran out of ammo!
  3. I can only complete seers and lumby. The others i need a few more lvls for 1 or 2 tasks. I find it a little bit too much about having/getting levels instead of achieving things. (yeah, i know, lvls are an achievement) But most things are a joke if you allready hapen to have the lvl. What i liked about the lower leveled diaries that they actually made you do stuff that was equally annoying to high and lower lvls. (like catching the rats) Anyway, not a bad update, but they could have been a little bit more creative when picking the tasks.
  4. @Ts_Stormrage Hey, i enjoyed your article (except the ranting bit) Was quite sceptical about runefest, but i never vented it, and i would not even have gone if they paid my flightticket. I just could not imagine it being fun or that i would enjoy being there (my age probably also has something to do with that) Anyway, like i said, i enjoyed your article, cause i still was curious about what it was all about. Your enthusiasm caught on and I was actually thinking: hmmm...maybe this was more fun then i thought until i came to the ranting bit. Now i dont feel insulted by it but it automatically takes the whole article down. and it changed my thoughts to : well if it really was that much fun, why would he bother ranting. I know a big part of the rs community are a bunch of whining morrons and that they can really drive you mad. But if you enjoyed it really that much, why care about what others think.
  5. Maybe I am asking a lot. But it hardly compensates for the vast majority of players who ask for nothing. Jagex are the ones who presented this as a "thank you" to customers. They have since done *nothing* consistent with that. They are charging a fortune for the event, which benefits them, not customers. They are excluding most people and not doing anything to include players who can't come. Certainly not a way to thank customers. The "secret venue" bullsquat only three months before the event is not only not a kind gesture to customers, it's flat out obnoxious. The flagstaff is even worse -- it's an overt slap in the face to everyone who can't go. Everything about this event says "Jagex is throwing Jagex a big party, and if you want to pay a small fortune they'll let you watch". If that's not the message the company wanted to send, then they should have taken an approach that actually puts customers first, not their own desires and interests. Furthermore.......they are actually giving everybody a slap in the face, because ..... 1. in a way they are introducing REAL life trade....pay 75 pounds and you get a flagstaf 2. They are breaking their own rules by having people meet up. We all know people who got muted for asking real life questions.
  6. You call 79 slay high? I do call lvl 78 slay high i do call it mediocre. and a level nobody was asking for. There is a lvl 75, 80, 83, 85 and now a 78........yet from lvl 90 to lvl 99 (about 60% of total xp) there is still nothing
  7. I would like to see some new High lvl slayer monsters. The road from 90 to 99 is just one big drag without anything new. These new monster dont really have to drop anything special, but should just add some much needed variety.
  8. yeah, you might wanna work on summoning... first work to get a terrorbird (lvl 56 i think) then bunyip (lvl 68) as both of these really make life much easier. also you can have a quick look through the new quests, there have been, not that the new ones are really good or usefull, but it will give you a good idea about whats new. And if you dont know them allready check out the penguin spy hunting.
  9. probably A although if you like cannoning maybe doing Sumona 1-9 and then Duradel every 10th task can be faster.
  10. I did a lot of controlled fighting between att 92 and 96 Att, and was actually surprised how fast it was.....well not really faster, but it felt like more steady progress. And about the whip...it still is the best training weapon in game.
  11. Nah, would be to overpowered. But talking about overpowered, perhaps we need a protect from special attacks, cause AGS specials are really peeing me off
  12. Already won the argument, so I can moan about whatever I want 8-) if you can remember what your argument actually is.
  13. You mentioned the 'best training method', which IS armored zombies. So which is it? Do you agree with me that slayer is the best training method, or do you think that only speed matters and think that Armored Zombies is the best? Also, it's not my fault I couldn't understand your post - it was hard enough to work through the haze of spelling and grammar errors along with poor sentance structure. I suggest consulting these two books before attempting to make a point again in the future: [hide=] [/hide] lol, if you cant win an argument go moan about someone's spelling. You go and try being flawless in a foreign language. But am i now reading correctly that you are saying slayer is the best method even though you mentioned it sucked????
  14. What? Are you trying to say Armored Zombies is the best way to train? I love training slayer, and I don't get what training it has to do with eating the heaviest calorie food. Where did i mention armoured zombies?? And if you dont understand my little analogy that leaves even more doubts about your way of reasoning.
  15. compfreak, Well i suck at calculations, i dont give a xxxx about xp rates, and i am quite sure there is better xp to be gotten elsewhere. But your way of thinking is like standing in front of a luxury buffet with the finest food in the world, cooked by the best chefs............and then only taking the bit with the most callories.
  16. the crystal bow was the best until they upgradded the crossbows. Take rune crossbow with broads & diamonds. (might be worth to bring a few rubies for first few shots on jad, but only do this if you good at pray switching) and the xtra pray +range bonus from the zammy book in the shield slot helps a lot as well
  17. xp lamp I really hate the charm reward because the xp you can get from the charms is way less then the summon xp you can get from the lamp and on top of that it will cost you time an monies to use those charms.....must be jagex thinking behind this. Oh, and about the costumes/emotes.....are they new? or are they just the same as the old ones i already have? and @ link353510 I really dont understand your reasoning .......a couple of hundred xp in just a second sounds perfectly fine to me, and it usually is more then you can get from the other rewards. I spent the lamps on summoning: saves me from getting 2,5 crimsons, save me at least 2,5k gp's and 10 lamps safe me a trip to obelisk.
  18. most problem start with the horrible attitude of most parents that their child will never ever do something wrong. btw Jagex's response to this was actually rather poorly and should have stated more clearly that this kid was breaking more then 1 rule.
  19. there is a lot about the ge that is covered in shadows, but 4 hours is nothing. i usually flip some items with a little bit of profit, and usually it takes 24 hours before everything gets bougth/sold
  20. The trick to slayer is that u take the best equipment and combat method for each different monster. So wear torags (for example) when u need massive defense, but use fighter torso when u want extra strenght. Use magic or range when there is a nice safespot, and melee when the others are no option. There just is not a single good setup for slayer. so just get a good melee set, for the avarage plain melee monsters. get proselyte for the prayer task get full black dhide for the magic using monsters whip is best weapon, but dont forget to take a dds for the specials and most importantly: GET A BLACK MASK, and do the sumona quest (smoking kills)
  21. you got lunar magic? if so, u might wanna try string amulets Also if ur willing to burn monies, try bursting in multi combat, nechs & mummies in chaos tunnel, or rock lobs for charms --edit--- sorry, did not look at ur skills when i wrote this, so just ignore what i said :)
  22. Since u have 3 i would play it safe, as you are probably allready making a nice profit out of them Sell 1 as soon as graph gets less stepp. Sell 2nd when graph is getting slightly flat and try to Sell 3d at top Just remember, everybody can look at the graph and as soon as it starts to get flat, all merchanters will dump simultanously and u will have ur free fall
  23. But having 2 bows is great Cause u can use the one that is at full strength and just before u do 250 shots change to a bow that is not at full strenght anymore, so u will alwyas be shooting at maximum power. only downside is that u need to keep track of the number of shots you have fired so far. i personally used a timer for it, while others do it with avarage xp per shot.
  24. the idea is great. But especially the last 2 were very poor. Perhaps the rewards will be very usefull to some, but especially the set of tasks was not very creative and far from hard
  25. Dharoking is still great :) but yeah, dds-ing is always good. and when ranging (once he is digging away) you wont get hit much, so u dont have to safe spot anymore
