Don't spend poiints to skip ice strykes. Drop your tokhaar before you get a task for a free block. If you have a ton of capes, this obviously isn't viable. Do them in that case. I personally don't block dark beasts, and I think you'll run out of points if you do. Abyssals and nechs should be skipped/blocked if you're 99 summ, otherwise do them. Irons, steels, and other dragons should really only be done if you can kill them with regular antifire, but even then they're pretty crappy. Do blacks regardless.

Wouldn't it be similar to the strength level boost from prayers? You get a % boost to the catch rate, plus a base rate which isn't boosted? You mean a modifier to the attack roll? We've considered that, and is the most likely, but we haven't been able to prove it yet.

I don't know if it's easier, but the king black dragon isn't too tough. It recently got a graphical update, so you might want to wait a few weeks for the crowds to die down.

To do it reasonably well, 80 magic for a polypore staff is the only major requirement. 70 defense for ahrim's or 40(?) for mystic would be beneficial, but not necessary. 43 prayer would help a lot, especially if you're a low level. Consider doing the morytania quest series to get there faster. It's extremely remote if you've only done priest in peril.

Equi reduces how often a monster has low hp left. Spec restores are (afaik) never the most productive potion, so level doesn't matter. You're welcome to do the math yourself and see.
