Upcoming forum changes!
There really isn't that much difference currently, but I think there is potential for the two forums to truly be two forums. For example, we could actually turn the debates in Debate Club into actual debates, and not discussions. Creating a minimum post length (I was thinking 6 lines/4 sentences) would make DC the place for people to actually back up their opinions with facts and all that jazz, rather than just posting opinions on a subject, which is what GD is like. Also, DC would be for topics asking questions like, "Should you be able to use the protect item prayer in pvp?" which deals with a subject that can easily be debated and taken seriously. General Discussions would be about things like, "Who is the most famous RS player?" where you would just discuss who you think is the most famous player, and there wouldn't be very much cross or rebuttal. In addition, General would house threads about updates and similar topics.

Upcoming forum changes!
The problems are though, that it gets a fairly low amount of traffic, and to be honest, the 'debates' in there are not much better than your average General discussion topic now as the maturity level there has greatly increased over the years. We could, in theory, make it a subforum, which would create a bit more traffic without packs of trolls and immature posters getting into the threads. I agree that GD has gotten a lot more mature over the ages, but if you look, there are relatively a lot more troll posts than in DC. So, if there is going to be a change, please don't merge the two forums, simply make Debate Club into a subforum; although, I would prefer they be kept separate.

29-Apr-2010 Developer Blog: Voice Overs - Look Who's Talking
Can't say that I'll be looking forward to this; the tutorial voices annoyed me to no end. It doesn't really matter to me; however, since my sound is always off anyway, but if you're into this kinda stuff then that's great and I hope you enjoy it.

I don't want to see debates merged with general discussion; it has a completely different atmosphere that would just be taken away if it got combined. I'm fine with everything else, just don't take debate club away from me.

The 99'S Blues
When I was going for 99 mining, I was so afraid that I would feel disappointed when I got the cape that I had worked for for so long. I couldn't shake the feeling that it wouldn't feel how I always expected it to feel. One day, I decided that I was going to force myself to enjoy every step of the journey, so if my fears had proven correct, I would still be able to look at my stats page and smile. Three years after the start of the journey, I finally reached 99, and I was; luckily, not consumed by the 99 blues; which made the achievement all the sweeter. This led me to believe that you can beat the blues if you focus on the journey, and revel in it. Don't let the thoughts of the destination distract you; do it for the fun.

Mining/ smithing rant
Nah, mining is the most fun when you're trippin' balls, staring at the bright desert sand, mindlessly clicking for 5 straight hours. The screen starts to turn purple. To the OP, it shouldn't matter because there is neither rhyme nor reason to smelt mithril or anything above that. If you're going to smelt, go for gold (actually, I don't know if that's the best in f2p, but mithril is still worse), or try smithing addy bars.

Them Stowaways
They're pretty good for an amateur band, I like the vocalist (he does need a little work, his voice sounds kinda 'unrefined'), but some of the songs drag on a bit, so they could work on being a bit more concise. Overall, I like them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them. By the way, the singer sounds like a combination of Gavin Rossdale (Bush) and Mike Vennart (Oceansize), which kinda scares me.

Dungeoneering: Skill or Minigame?
I think that the best way to determine the status of Dungeoneering is to first define a minigame and a skill, then define what Dungeoneering is, in order to see where it belongs. First of all, the defining characteristics of a minigame include player interaction, utilization of skills, experience or item based reward, and little repetition/grinding. The basis of a skill is that it can be trained alone, the ability to stand alone without using another skill (in most cases), can be trained to unlock new benefits (which aren't usually purchased), and has to be repeated over and over in order to be trained. Dungeoneering can be played in groups or alone, uses other skills during the process of training, has both expierence/item and benefits that are unlocked from training the skill (being able to bind more items is the only one I can think of off the top of my head), Dungeoneering is also repetitive and not repetitive at the same time; every dungeon is different, the chances of receiving the same dungeon twice is almost nil, but it's also repetitive in the sense that the changes are based less on the people playing the game and more on the game's engine. This begs the conclusion that Dungeoneering is both a skill and a minigame, however, this is not the case. Dungeoneering is a skill because of the fact that you train it in order to unlock the rewards. You could make the case that by the time you have the points to buy any of the rewards, you will have surpassed the level needed for the item, but this is irrelevant. You need to unlock the ability to buy the item before you can buy it; unlike minigames such as castle wars, stealing creation, or fist of guthix, where you can buy the reward at any point; which is the major point where Dungeoneering diverges from being a minigame and becomes a real skill.

General Mining Tips&Tricks?
Not necessarily, with living rock caverns being an option now. :P I've the OP doesn't have access to them yet though, granite is a viable option. I really find granite too be epic experience. Made a new account yesterday. "Vool". Got 1-55 Mining in less than 10 hours. Which is 16k/h. From 1. :-D Granite is the best experience you're going to get. Check out my guide for some specifics. If the op decides to use concentrated gold, he should use world 84 or he won't stand a chance against the living rock creatures. Most people struggle with 60k exp per hour, and it's possible to get over 70k exp per hour at gold. If the OP likes to mine granite, then he should do it, but most people get burnt out at the sandstone spot. 60k xp/hr isn't hard and can easily be done without the sandstone spot. With enough focus, you can even exceed that number.

whats a good f2p place to train? 1def
Flesh crawlers are your best bet. They have a max hit of 1, which they rarely even hit; they have low defense, so you won't have to worry about your accuracy too much; and they are within a reasonable distance of a bank. Bring several strength potions and fill your inventory with some food, lobsters and swordfish work, but you can use salmon or trout as well. When you run out of food and potions, bank in Edgeville.
