Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Just do what feels natural. If you force a "hey" it'll come off as rude, but a casual "hey" is totally fine.

It really depends on how you want to come off. For example, if you wanted to ask your professor a quick question, you'd use hey, i.e. It gives your reader the impression that they don't necessarily need a well-thought-out response. Here, the professor is just expected to say "yes" or "no", so there's no need for a fancy introduction. The same goes for when you're just giving someone a heads up. If "Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep it in mind" is something you might expect in response, then "hey" is fine. Anything requiring a little more thought should address the reader directly.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Thanks Boris, I'd do that but I'm short on dice right now. Guess what? You're going to have to stop being a [kitty] to have a successful relationship. There's no magical way to tell a girl you like them that allows you to be successful while being afraid. Ain't nothing to it but to do it. Thanks Obfu. Thanks to you Hedgehog. Your question has caused me to think a little and helped me out a little. And yeah, it is the inexperience/general nervousness. 17 and highschool, ya know? Honestly, at this point the biggest lie I tell myself to make me feel better is that I sit beside/have to endure with these people in classes and therefore don't want to make things awkward by following through with such an action. You can worry about it being awkward when it's awkward

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Why are you a [kitty]? Are you unconfident about your image? Then lose weight, build muscle, get a good haircut, and wear clothes that fit. Are you just inexperienced? Practice while the stakes are still low.

Interesting point, so I can just find or download software that'll make my battery life longer? You should have a battery manager that ships with your laptop. I can guarantee you that any battery manager you find online is going to be malware.- Experiencing Frequent LapTop Power Cuts [UNSOLVED]
Yeah your battery just isn't calibrated. You should have some battery calibration software somewhere, which will just run the battery through a few charge cycles. I had the same issue, where my battery would last maybe 30 minutes, now it lasts a good 4 or 5 hours.- Today...
