Last I checked, Proselyte gave a better prayer and defence bonus than initiate which in turn gave a similar prayer bonus but better defence than monks robes... Someone correct me...or praise me. I am pretty sure monk robes have better prayer bonus than initiate (at least the bottoms do). ~Dan I just checked tip.it's prayer guide... monk's and initiate have the same prayer bonus, be it bottom or top. Proselyte has only the top with a better prayer bonus, the "cuisse" or legs has a similar +5 prayer bonus that initiate legs and monks bottom share. Well the real issue here is whether initiate is underrated. And its not. Of course people will go ewww when you wear initiate instead of proselyte, because initiate is worse in pretty much ever way.

Not to offend or start an argument, but it kind of sounds like you've considered the fact that they drop snakehide 100% of the time, then found how many kills you can get per hour without considering how well snakehide sells.

Shades are absolutely terrible XP. You could be hitting constant 20s and they'd still be terrible XP. This is because XP is reduced to 1/16 of normal: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=170 Sounds like instead of making a new shade monster, Jagex threw a few spawns of the shade random event in the dungeon. Sounds pretty lazy if you ask me.

20k xp/hour boost is not underpowered... it's underrated and underused. I was talking more about actually hitting damage. With most monsters such as dust devils or fire giants, unless you actually click the call button every single time, you've already got the monster to under 25% health. Your familiar will have at most 2-3 hits and chances are they'll all be 0s. But I don't really want to turn this into a debate about the effectiveness of combt familiars, this isn't the thread for that, I'm just making the point that combat and healing familiars are two very distinctive classes that should not have lumped together like this.

Ok, maybe at level 90+ there are SOME useful combat familiars, but every combat familiar below that is pretty much useless!

I think the question was a bit misleading with its structure. It lumps combat/healing familiars together, but the best healing familiars (void spinner, bunyip, and unicorn, as well as, to a lesser extent, fruit bats) are non-combat familiars. Everyone who loves bunyips but hates combat familiars (they're currently severely underpowered) will be voting in this category, making it seem like combat familiars are more popular than they really are. I suppose its nothing to important since this is an informal poll, but those kind of oversights should be double-checked for in the future! :

It seems likely that the Mahjarrat were kings or generals in Fenaskrae before Ichtlarin recruited them to serve him. Although what's interesting is why they agreed to serve him. Were they forced to serve him, and if so why was Ichthlarin not able to take them under his control back once Zaros was gone? Did Ichtlarin hire them, and if so how did he pay them?
