  1. yes, we have final cut pro HD at college which does just about all you'll ever want. but unless you've got a lot to spend it's probably out of the question. pinacle studio will be cheaper and i seem to remember that it was pretty easy to use.
  2. oops hehe i guess i'll catch the repeat
  3. 150-220 pounds or dollars? anyway, you're not gonna get a great guitar for that (especially if that's for the amp as well). i'd recomend getting a starter kit or somthing which will probably have somthing similar to a squire strat in it. all you really need is somthing you can learn on and when you have experience and knowledge (and you're sure you want to carry on) you can buy somthing that will suite you (once you have a bigger budget).
  4. i definately listen to music for the overall sound rather than the lyrics. i just downloaded a load of songs by a mexican rock band and it's all in spanish hehe. although when the lyrics are generic and predictable it kinda puts me off sometimes. vocals have to be good though, even if i don't think the lyrics are.
  5. same here, you know axl set a date for the new album? heh, i'll believe it when it's in shops :)
  6. beck - midnite vultures and odelay led zeppelin - IV Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd guns 'n' roses - appetite for destruction a lot of the albums i've got are greatest hits or best of albums which don't really count :)
  7. heh well i haven't been around here long so i wouldn't know. was just pointing it out that it's possible.
  8. how about jimi hendrix? anyway, if you're planning to be a technical genious on the guitar, you will probably need a teacher and to practice a lot (talking about 5 hours or more a day). it's a great deal about how you practice as well as how much. you need to talk to a teacher and other experienced guitarists for the best way to do this, to make sure your doing the right things when practicing and not falling into bad habbits etc. however, you don't need to be a great guitar player to become famous. you need to be able to compose somewhat original music that will make you stand out. if you manage to obtain your own sound on the guitar then you are much more likely to make it, which is somthing that really can't be taught but has to come from your creative mind (though you will need a good degree of technical talent too). or the other way of becoming a famous guitar player is by creating a band and an image that will make teenagers follow you like gods no matter what music you play (not an option i'm recomending).
  9. drive by truckers. they're a southern rock band, haven't met anyone else who listens to them yet.
