I think you should try more than just changing the colours of a photograph. Also, I don't think the colours you have chosen go very well together, making the manipulated image less pleasing to the eye than the original.
Ya really sorry about that, when I entered I didn't have much college work, but then it kinda came in thick and fast. Anyway nice entries everyone else.
I suggest that you don't concentrate on what tools you should and shouldn't use, but what you want the outcome to look like. I find the best results come when I already know exactly what I want to create before I start the work. However, I do suggest you learn how to use as many features of the program as you can, which will unlock many more possibilities.
Another Michel Gondry Video. Probably my favourite. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=2191689179293621664&q=gondry+music+video&total=251&start=10&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=9
Wow, the person that made that big one has way to much time on his/her hands. Anyway nice work, reminds me of my smiley machines I made on Runevillage.
very nice modeling, I was pretty bad at it back when I used to try stuff like this. I think the thing you need to work on is the textures so that they look more realistic. loving the wine by the way.
It looks pretty good, though in my opinion I think you should add some colour to the brushed bits, grey doesn't seem to go with the colour on the face too well.
The edges of many of the renders are too hard in my opinion and the embossing on the pikachu doesn't look too good. The text on all of them is pretty in-your-face and obvious, but it fits quite well with them. All in all they're quite good, although not all that original. If you want ratings: pikachu - 5.5/10 yoshi - 6.5/10 Samus 7/10 mario - 6.5/10 mario v2 - 6/10
That would mean there's more chance of someone losing timing though. Anyway, good luck with the band. I play guitar but have never been in a band so I can't help you much.
I just watched it too and enjoyed it very much. Quite refreshing, as I haven't had much to watch on TV lately seeing as Life on Mars and Prison Break (this series anyway) are over.
Yes, I realise that you define the content of those categories. Anyway, 'inspirational' is a very obscure word. Most of the music I listen to is inspirational in some way, I come up with ideas for situations, plot lines, visuals and scenes for films when I listen to music.
You can always edit them into your first instead of posting numerous times. Anyway I think you should concentrate on quality rather than quantity. There's no shading, the lines are rough and the anatomy is poor. To be honest it looks like you spent all of one or two minutes to produce each of these. Be critical of your work and think 'does this look how I intended it to when I started?' And if not, why doesn't it? and work on fixing it.
It looks very weird, not bad necessarily just weird and not much like any planets I've ever seen. Looks slightly like a ball of rock hard caramel/honey with a flame inside it. I would say that it's probably easier to create a realistic looking planet in Photoshop than 3d modeling programs. That is unless you were planning to animate it/incorporate it into video. I'm not saying it's not possible to create with those programs, just it would take a lot of practice to make it look realistic.
I think most of my favourites have been mentioned already. - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - O Brother, Where Art Thou - Kill Bill - Pulp Fiction - Star Wars (very fitting and memorable, not that I like listening to it that much)
