Ashes are not useless. They are used in a quest to make a mixed drink for something and I think they are also used for making glass, maybe.

I can't remember if it's called a bent arrow or a broken arrow. You can get it from searching crates and lying places around Runescape.

But you have to remember, like other people have said, Runescape is a Java based game, and for Java Runescape is already advanced. Also, remember, that to play Runescape you have to download nothing (except Java, if you don't have it).

There are alot of things that have to do with real life. Like the history in some quests, and the names of some NPC's and stuff like that, are based off real life things.
