List of useless items of Runescape

Featured Replies

There are many items in Runescape that are completely pointless and useless. These items do not do anything at all nor do they benefit your character in anyway. You obtain a Useless item, after that it no longer serves a purpose.

So I thought I'll make up a list - with your help - of all the useless items in RuneScape. :D

The definitions of a useless item are:-

- They cannot be worn/equiped.

- They cannot be used on/with another item, NPC or an object.

- They cannot be used in conjunction with an item/NPC/Object or an event, and not used directly, e.g. Jewelry Moulds do still have a use.

- They must only have 3 options. (Use/Drop/Examine)

- Certain useless items can be sold/bought from a shop, alch'ed or traded, but they still count as being Useless items.

- It is not an item needed for a Quest.

Please no stupid ideas, like "Ring of Stone has no use!!!", that actually has 2 uses: 1) It can be worn, and 2) it can turn you to a stone. Good ideas for example are: tiles found in the wilderness, they have no use do they? They can't be used with anything, neither in an event, etc.

Old boot is a good one, but I'm not sure how you obtain it. I've had it before somehow... :-k

Burnt meat is another good one, but I believe a burnt meat is used for the Witch's Potion quest. But, anyway most other burnt meat is useless.

I do hope this topic doesn't get locked, most topics I make get locked. >_<

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

well maybe these things:

-buttons -obtained at big net-fishing, and pickpocketing ham

-broken leather - again pickpocketing ham followers

btw: tiles have a use, I believe (not sure though) you need them for a f2p quest

ow and fliers are very usefull (at least the one for bob axes): you will need them at a treasure trail - and believe me it's really usefull that time (I needed to kill barbarians 1 day long to get such a stupid flier :XD: )

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Broken Glass is used during the Sea Slug Quest and in Aid of the Myreque.

IIRC there is an NPC that can transform rotten food into edible food. I think he was in Burgh de Rott.

im going to look in bank

Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.

Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Bear, Wolf, and Grey Wolf fur?

You can sell them to the fur traders in Varrock or Ardougne for some pennies. Good money for someone starting out.

most of the things u get from digsite are useless other then gems

"- Red/Green/Blue eggs. Obtained from fallen nests while cutting trees."

If I translated the Chaos Elemental correctly.. Red/Green/Blue birds eggs will all have a use after the "Eagles Peak" quest is released(today or tommorrow).

According to a readers letter, they were used by Yanille Mages/Warriors to scout out enemies when they were building Yanille... Surprise, surprise.. Yanille is the first place you go for hunting(Other than Nardah)!

Probably a hunting oriented pet. Most of us have seen the Falcon at work, could possibly be something like that. Or hopefully they'll actually fly next to us.
