I read the times article and I wasn't too impressed, didn't think much of it, however, after reading the response articles I thought about it a bit and realized that, I too, have become purposeless. I've played RS for about 6 years or so and have always pretty much enjoyed myself. I worked on random skills. I'm not a high level combat player and I've done most of the work without buying my skill levels. So, it's taken me a really long time of working to get to the levels I'm at now. When I'd get bored with one skill, I'd move to another for awhile, then switch again. Repeat cycle. However, in the past month I've found myself incredibly bored and am finding my logins are spaced many days apart instead of everyday. Maybe it was the month of fishing monkfish I did recently or the 2 weeks I spent smithing. I'm unsure what has caused my recent dissatisfaction or lack of caring about playing. I logged in tonight for the first time in two days, killed 4 hill giants for my slayer assignment..got bored..logged off. I don't speak to many people online, usually because I've found my runescape friends don't last long, either because they stop playing or the interest in conversations die out. Am I playing other games? Yes...sorta. I'm playing my nintendo roms that I've owned on my computer for 7 years (M.U.L.E is an awesome game!) and I'm playing some family feud game online. I've also started playing at some other online game site that has those word games and such. I find these rewarding in a different way than runescape. Runescape: the reward was a personal one of seeing my levels go up and also of a sense of being a good player. However, that reward satisfaction just isn't enough anymore. I want something where I can use my brain instead of just clicking mindlessly for hours on end. Maybe it's the fact that a lot of the skills I've enjoyed training have now become a very big leap to the next level that takes way too long or too much gold to achieve. I don't want to have to sit there for 3 days and fish monkfish to get to the next fishing level. I don't want to have to wear my mouse out for 2 days to get to the next smithing level. I don't want to have to go out and sell what I've made by waiting for buyers to show up from forums or stand in the bank and announce my sales. I have been seriously considering ending my membership for now, give it some time and then come back when I find the interest again. We'll see what happens... Wow this is a longer post than I thought I would post and rather rambly (due to lack of sleep)..so I shall stop writing for now....and possibly playing..for now.

I haven't noticed too much of a decline in tipitchat..but that might be because I play late at night. I've been vacationing from RS for the past three days so don't know if there's been any major changes (got addicted to Family Feud online..yeh..I know I'm a nerd) There have been more spammers and a lack of anyone to boot them so we can't do anything about it in the room. I end up just ignoring the room until they go away..

All of its stats --think it should show up below (or not..draynor appears to be broken) so here's another version - If it pks then how many kills have you had? i don't pk usually - how many deaths (plz be truthful im not looking for the best person here)? I've died twice...once way back in rsc when I went into the wildy. The second when I was killing ogres for slayer and wasn't paying attention - What are your plans to do next (training what skill)? Still training slayer...be training slayer forever I s'pose. lol - What are your stratagies in the wildy? Don't go in wildy..if I do..it's run really fast...look for white dots...run away...log off and find another server without any white dots..repeat process. - if your in a clan what is it called? none - do you think is good or bad? n/a - have you joined any other clan before? n/a - Funny moments in Runescape - probably when I was killed by the darn ogre..was quite upset..but it's actually funny that a stupid ogre killed me - Moments you regret -wasting so many years without merchanting or buying from other players. I would sell everything to general store or specialty stores..gahd..i'd prob be pretty wealthy if i knew now back then - and anything else you want to add -not sure what the point of this was..but I've been playing runescape since 2000/2001 sometime..took a 2 year break when rs2 came out. Mostly a skiller..yep..that's about it.

Hmm....I thought Jagex was doing a good job with the macroers...then tonight...I'm wandering around doing a quest (temple of Ikov) and go into Varrock...what do I see in the northeast corner but 3 bots..then I go to West bank..and my lord...shoulda seen them all. I was on a relatively unpopulated world too! They were all going rune essence mining. I haven't seen that many macroers before in my life (i've been playing for 5+ years). Have they lost control of them again? (assuming they had control in the first place..)

Hmm...it's been quite a while..probably about 5 yearsish..but i distinctly remember not being able to move my character correctly. For instance, i would go south instead of north, east instead of west..east instead of north..took me a bit to realize there was a compass. Actually, I remember some nice player helping me out at the time.. After I figured out the compass, i started mining...don't remember where tho..then I fished a long time, then i went and fought the dark wizards over by draynor....i fished and killed the wizards...yeah..that's what i remember. :)

So...let's just say I just happened to kill the ice queen and get the ice gloves a long time ago...just for hte heck of it cause i saw her and decided to kill her and hadn't started Hero's quest yet at all. Will I have to kill her again for the quest?

well finally completed quest. World 131 seems to be the place to go if you can't get into world 2. Whether this be from this forum post or not. I'm there now and theres a few people. it's 740pm est time.

grumble grumble..can't find world with people in it again. argh...tried world 2, no one. blasted. (why isn't my stat sig updating..grrrr..bad night all around i s'pose)

I disagree completely on the slayer..i find that fun to train. As for those I find most annoying... 1. Thieving: Not too fond of pyramid plunder..but i have to have this skill for quests. grrrrrr 2. Range (i despise ranging...so slowwwww) 3. Fishing -Surprised no one has mentioned this one. The only good part is i can surf the net and do other things online while doing it. But I feel as if I'm wasting myt ime when I have to catch 1000 lobs which takes about..ohh 4-5 hours. Not to mention i usually have to see 50 gazillion autoers (tho strangely the fishing guild Im at now doens't appear to have even one). This was a fun skill up until about level 55...then realized it's a pain in my bum. 4. Runecrafting: I despise this with a passion...run to bank, get essence, run or teleport back to the thingie you have to go into (the word is escaping me at the moment), run back get more essence, run back to runecrafting alter..run back get more essence...argh!

Umm..considering that we have to kill unicorns...the dogs are nothing new. We all should know from Harry Potter that killing unicorns is a bad bad bad thing. lol Still have a hard time bringing myself to kill them. Then there's the cute ones (the black ones) up near relekka.

THis is the wierdest thing...I do slayer assignments and the only thing to keep my attention span going without going to sleep sometimes, is to look at forums, and other websites. I've done this forever. So...tonight, i'm out here killing trolls..and reading this forum. Everytime I click over here...everything stops in runescapeland. I hope this isn't something new..... ANyone else running into this? (if this is in wrong topic area, sorry bout that)

Got ya beat..i think I'm the lowest for how long.. I started in college...2000-2001 (somewhere in there) lol Only started on combat training stuff about 5 months ago. (was level 37 then) I messaged Jagex to see how long I've played, but they said they no longer provide that information because of account sellers. (to answer the question about finding out)

Wall beasts....i hate them. Annoying to kill and drop barely anything worth it. Unless you count torches...woohoo

black cape and an addy 2handed sword.. Back in RSC I killed a thieve or something on the side of the road and he dropped it. I collected like 5 of these and treasured them. Still had it up until a few months ago. Addy: Well..in RSC i had played forever to earn enough money to buy it from ..i think Taverly (whatever place it was...was an exotic place to me). I quit for a long time after RS2 scared me with it's new graphics and all. Came back to RS again about a yearish ago and still lugged that sword around for awhile..till I read on tip it or on runescape about hte armour and weapon changes...realized my sword was crud now..and was quite sad to see it go.

Interesting read..tho I probably would have touched on why buying outside money is bad for runescape. Or why having other people play your account is bad. I have played for all of my stats...I've never cheated. I recently bought 4000 coal (from my own RS money that I earned thru clues) and felt wierd about it..but I didn't cheat. I never had a big issue with account sharing because I never personally dealt with anyone who had done it or is doing it. Then recently someone i know bought someone to 43 prayer and gave them all expensive armour. Then logged into their account to get their combat level up just so they could wear it. This person who received the 43 prayer didn't have ANY levels before this. I didn't tell this person I was offended..because well...I don't want to be a tattle tale or a know it all. Plus, I was rather baffled by my own reaction to their behavior. I've gotten over it slightly because I can look at the high scores and say that I am still a higher level at everything than them (except prayer). My point being..i felt that my playing was cheapened by these other players..and that is what now makes me care about account sharing. However, I do think the article should have expanded on whys instead of just "because I said so" mentality. BTW: a 12 year old mod...umm....wow...that's all i have to say about that.

I kill harpies..i love harpies. Plus, they usually drop a clue scroll when you kill them often. I made over 3000 fires from them in about an hour (maybe less). Plus, I got ranger boots from one of their clue scrolls. Another good note, they drop a lot of gp. Usually make 10000gp per run.

Well, i pay a farmer for everything even tho i use supercompost. I've found that the flowers always grow before my regular plant, which then leaves my tomatoes (or other item) open to getting diseased. I think the flowers are pointless anyway. just my opinion tho.

I've just started killing mountain trolls for the first time and it seems like they drop their fair share of natures. I've received about 49 of them from about 30 or so kills.

I prefer the older style. I use tipit over rhq because of the pictures and detailed walkthroughs. I am a more visual person and it helps me better.

If you have done slayer, I think that cockatrices drop them fairly often up in the slayer caves near Relekka.

I feel as if in the past two weeks or so, the macro issue has increased immensely. It could just be my imagination, or paranoia, but I'm seeing them everywhere now in p2p. This also coincided with the sudden dip in prices with sharks. Then in the past 5 days, all the macroers aren't level 3's (as often). They are level 7's, 13's, 10's, etc. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm starting to get really irritated. grumble grumble..here i am fishing forever to get to sharks to finally make some money (as I don't usually buy my skills..so work them up the hard way) and now that level 76 won't be worth much except for bragging rights. ahh wells...

I thought this was a well written article. I haven't really had much experience yet with this ditch as I don't go into wildy much (i don't want to die..and I would very quickly). However, I know there have been a few instances when I've run across the border in the past by chance becasue i went the wrong way to get to somewhere or something. At least now I can choose to jump over it. (yeh yeh, i know there is a sign, but when you are on the border of the wilderness area, you cross in and out many times without realizing it after the first warning) I, too, being the type to have to try things ran into a non-populated area to see what the new password thing did. I'd say probably 75% of the population in RS probably did this. lol Anyways, like the article.

Where are you fishing now? I fished over in Catherby up until i coudl go into the guild (68). That seemed to be the best place. The fishing guild is fantastic tho. (the fishing spots don't move as often and there are more of them)

I was just killing 100 some odd pyrefiends...and I was using my dragon dagger poison ++ thing..it went a lot faster with that and it hit almost as hard as my dragon longsword..so i'm guessing..that stab is a good bet with these guys.
