lol shouldn't this be in the questions sticky? Anyway, normally I would suggest GIMP because of being open source, free, and awesome, but I guess If you not planning on doing much with it it wouldn't be worth its learning curve, nor would photoshop and its price.

The head of this site wants me to probably 2 a dark and a light color scheme anyways, so I'll probably have a dark version too. And my avatar is Firo from the anime Baccano! Oh, ok... Watched a clip from Baccano!... looks really cool

Why do they need to be pixel artist? Or do you want to make sprites for the game instead of flash-vector-things.
