I personally would say willows until 94, then yews if you're not worried about earning money... I've also heard of people doing willows until about 85 and then switching to maples...but I don't know how effective that would be. I'm also not the greatist woodcutter, I'm just telling you what I've heard from others. ;) -

As a matter of fact, the rune essence update allowed them to triple the money they got from mining it, and when they sold it for more money they could make a more handsome profit and still pay for membership. Responces to the update: from http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=785 Hee hee AHAHAHAHAHA Man, that's funny [cabbage], especially since... Oh wait, they don't have to tell the truth! That's a lie :D Ok.. Now to what I want to talk about... Cheating, now, is almost at it's lowest point. Scammers are everywhere, the main RSCheating site still up, ----------, is FULL of scammers, no current undetectable bots [compared to ----------] are actually released for the public, and one other thing I like complaining about, is ---------- little "duper." Now I know that this might actually damn work. And I will tell programmer how it worked, the idea, now how to do it. Here it is: It somehow* found out the DNS, ect, of JaGeX's HQ [not servers] and changed it's IP to that. This is possible to change your IP to anything, as long as you have DNS info, ect. Then, apparently the RS Client accepts this as a Mod, and walla! Dupe! :P If you want to complain, or say I'm a scammer, or some [cabbage], PM me. Somebody could probably sue JaGeX for this (racial prejudice). And again. /nod unconvinced Let's see how long the ---------- will last. /starts stopwatch ----------- -
Lol, they weren't gold farmers, I actually know the site they run out of...what they did was charge $2, and then set up a proxy and simple color-clicking bot, then they had people looking over these bots checking for randoms or failures, and went from there  Most of the actual macroers came from Europe and the US... #-o

RuneScape would damn themselves by doing so. It would easily be enough to get them shut down or to revive all accounts... Basically, if they banned skillers, I have a nice website to report them to: http://www.ic3.gov/ ;) Too bad they don't control me  -

Bold text = it take some days to get the evidence More info in http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2077 I really don't care that you're a player mod. (Yes, he is, but who cares...) Just because Jagex decided to let you mute people and decided to look at your reports with more detail and act more often than a normal player doesn't mean you know ANYTHING about their banning system...and infact...I know you know nothing about it. At the rate they're going, they won't stop macroers at all: (I'm pulling a post of mine from another topic to make my point easier) nothing happens instantly and that's what throws people off. that, and the fact that the minute the bot gets a ban, ten more take it's place. the report button works well enough on individual bots, however, the creator makes hundreds at a time. now what do you think would happen if a jagex mod was to wander around free worlds these days...? this is basically the argument that jagex staff members have superpowered reporting abilities... there is a large macroing problem in this game because there's money in it. a lot of ignorant children play this game and don't bother to read the rules. that and the fact that it is relatively cheap. warcraft doesn't have a macroing problem because it is expensive enough that it would be hard to make a profit from gold farming. runescape is free, so it's easier. that and on members, there is still profit even with $5 per month. there are more valuable items, they're just illegally reaping the rewards. Heh, and what about KO and CO? You trying to phase them out? Both of them are free just as Runescape, yet don't have the problem :anxious: BUT, just to fit your argument, lets say I am a level 3 (With no stats...Just for the sake of argument) member macroing... Your arguments still actually don't make since. Let me give you some info. Picking flax in members gives, eh, I'd say about 1000 flax/h since your bot runs perfectly without mistake. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say it takes 4 days to ban a macroer and an hour taken out of this macroing time because of transfering and walking, I'd personally it would be a week before one is banned, but meh, lets see how things pan out your way (By saying your way, I mean the quicker ban): 4 * 24 = 96 (Hours macroed) 96 - 1 = 95 (Because of walking/transfering 95 * 1000 = 95,000 (How much flax will one pick?) 95,000 * 100 = 9,500,000 How much gold one could earn with this number of flax Considering one could buy one mill for, lets say $5USD (Of course illegally), this one bot alone earned the macroer 8,500,000gp = $42.50USD in 4 days. Considering one person may be running, eh, lets say 5 bots at a time... That is equal to a GAIN of $212.50USD or 42,500,000gp in 4 days... Including the $8 it would cost to buy memberships for each bot through PayPal, that's a NET GAIN of $172.50... This would be equal to working more than 7 hours every one of these 4 days at $6 an hour, which is about the average teen-job at Wal-Mart or the Home Depot... Lets say 4/5 of these bots are banned before the mills are transfered and sold, but 1 of the 5 bots got away because Jagex lost track the transactioins including those mills, or because the mills were sold to a (Most likely soon to be banned) person. The macroer still made a NET GAIN $2.50... And may I add that that is still a profit... So, given your argument that we can't expect things instantly, you're implying that this will just keep going on and on and on because of the gains these people are making... -

SOCKS5  -
Whether or not thats sarcastic, would a player like that really only have melee in the high scores? Nah, I was serious...macroers get banned once getting level 80 woodcutting max...let alone a 99 skill. And I'd personally say it's someone's pure and that's how they earn money on it (because they're a fair player and don't drop-transfer)... I used to have a pure (not that good) but with 80 attack, 86 str, and 62 defence before he got banned for offencive language, which I never really did get because I'm mostly polite...but meh RIP I0l Rr2h I0l.. There are thousands...millions maybe billions of names they can do, but so far it's the best thing that can happend. Another idea perhaps is let only 1 account per player, but with the stuff kids know these days like proxy etc.. it would be easy to evade, and not even mentioning the player made pures... that would be forums chaos. But has i said above Jagex encouraging people to report these bots will be the best of chances, that and hire more staff mor J-Mods..etc like 8 mods per f2p world designed especially to watch the yew trees and have capability to make a ban apeal in that instance. Other thing would be to make somekind of restriction or rule so there can't be accounts with strange names and have like 99 wodcutting(this is acctually true.) Yea, bots can bank using a tile system, and can do anything based on UIDs or whatever you really want...the bots at the yews actually do (believe it or not) bank... PS - If there are 36 possible characters to use in a username, and a username can be 13 characters long, the equation is: (36^13) (13 char usernames...) (36^12) (12 char usernames...) (36^11) (etc...) (36^10) (36^9) (36^8) (36^7) (36^6) (36^5) (36^4) (36^3) (36^2) +(36^1) which is 170581728179578208256 4738381338321616896 131621703842267136 3656158440062976 101559956668416 2821109907456 78364164096 2176782336 60466176 1679616 46656 1296 +36 which is 175,455,491,841,851,871,348 Possible usernames. which is one hundred seventy-five quintillion, four hundred fifty-five quadrillion, four hundred ninety-one trillion, eight hundred forty-one billion, eight hundred fifty-one million, eight hundred seventy-one thousand, three hundred forty-eight. Nah...they wont run outa names... If all suddenly existed again and 1 BILLION usernames are banned a day; it would take about 240,350 millenia to ban them all

End of Autoers Era! - Complete solution
None2None replied to sonance2's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
No, you're wrong. Macroers can read everything. You're thinking of text-answering bots, like the Google AutoFill... Javabots can do anything, hense solving the strange box, and...well...every other random. Sorry, but this wouldn't solve a thing -
I still am yet to believe that those are autoers as opposed to normal players :P

Is a macro for reporting macroers allowed?
None2None replied to Iamdan's topic in General Discussion
That would make a nice rule. Rule 14: You may not woodcut using a level 3, 4, or 5 charecter in defult clothing. or Rule 14: To woodcut you must be at least combat level 15 and not be wearing defult clothes. Go for it. Dude, you're an idiot #-o That would, first of all, ruin skillers... Second of all, you must realize that these macroers had to (macro or legit) get up to 60 woodcutting just to get to cut yews...getting 15 combat wouldn't stop them at all... -

Lol, you can delete your UID and force a new creation if you really wanted to... ...so nah, I don't think that would work...IP bans have been proposed, but then again...most macroers use proxies...idk...I don't think kicking them out of Runescape is the working solution... -
Well Gin, if you seriously are going to take offence to what I said, read closer next time. And I don't believe you can argue that. Even if you want to, we're off-topic, so lets end the argument.

Considering I doubt you're a mod due to your stats, no you didn't  There are level 3 mods, I don't know what stats has to do with it. Yea, like Zzzamorak...and look his stats up ;) Stats generally tell people how long and dedicated you've played Runescape. Jagex will choose the most dedicated players as moderators.. Higher stats = more dedication. Did you think it was done by random? Absoloutely 100% bull [cabbage]... Maybe back in 04', but now, they have Moderators who have played for less than 4 months, and cant even spell JAGeX... I absolutely disagee, if you can come to me and name one moderator who you don't feel should be one, tell me... I doubt you'll be able to find one.

Sorry I'm new whats a UID ? Captainkidd is only partially right. No IP bans were in place... Reguardless; a UID is what Jagex uses to tell which player is getting on RuneScape, on which accounts, and at what times. The old bot programmer basically surcame to Jagex and made all of the UIDs of the bot -1, and then released the update. Since a UID of -1 is impossible, all the macroers were identified and banned, aswell as their mains, who in turn ended up having the same UID. Most bots delete the UID forcing a new one to be made, so Jagex has a harder time tracking them.

Erm...He did  Considering I doubt you're a mod due to your stats, no you didn't  -player mod mode- where is that site? -end- If I didn't care about being banned, I might name it, but I won't. It's been reported to Jagex 1,000s of times before, so I know that they know, don't worry :)

Most of it but then again the fat kids use them to.What the hell? Dude...None of the programmers I know are fat...and what does that have to do with the gp trade? I was just saying, most of the trade in gp comes from companies selling it online, but then there is always some lazy kids that downloads there own. You mean the companies in places like e-bay that sell virtually nothing, but at exceptionally higher prices than your forum merchant? #-o Nah, most gp/item/account trades come from a specific site with 30,000+ members. It's simple things like individuals on forums that seem to do the most harm.

Well, I could also report them for real world item selling/trading (most of them are goldfarmers), but unfortunately these transactions cannot be tracked. I propose that JaGeX ban any and all connections from China. Coming through a proxy? Run a trace and if it leads to China, kill it too. Call me racist (or not- I'm actually half-Chinese myself), but I think 99% of legit players are not from that country. Haha, try the USA and England  The Chinese, from what I know, have 1 bot out - that they sell for money...So it's really not even them doing the macroing. Most huge cheaters don't speak Chinese what-so-ever. Either English or Dutch for the most part ;) No, not macroers, goldfarmers. The people who buy the virtual goods they gather are the ones who are truly despicable, yes, but I think the root of goldfarming is squarely in China. I'll have to say you're wrong. I would name a cheating site, but I won't for the sake of breaking the rules... This site has 30,000+ members, and really only for their "black market"... The whole site is in English, and yes, you can tell it wasn't translated. The people selling are generally American or European Macroers based on where they say they are from and their lack of an accent and perfect (or childish) grammar. I still say it is all in America and Europe, people just don't like to think that that's how it is. The Chinese are known as very hard-working, skilled people with long attention spans, which is why they are always blamed, but no, I will have to say that if you face a reality, those "Chinese" names are actually just random typings on an American or European keyboard that come out to look... well... different.
