Erm...I guess I never posted...Ah well...I intended to :) Never meant to steal your idea, just was crunched for time and don't really look through the suggestions much. Anyhoo. Add me. And if you'd like; I personally think it would be cool if you had the option of just putting your mouse over the item and having the stats pop up, as opposed to having to click the new option, but it's your thread, do whatever you will ;) -

Awesome, thanks. Added you to the (currently) short list :P -
Added Runecrafting... Not many (unless you're level 44+ or possibly 91+) people actually use Runecrafting to make waters, earths, mind, chaos, etc...only airs, fires, and natures for the most part... Seems utterly useless. Removing RSC for members...I really liked it. Not fixing the macroing problem when they could have, in RSC, and still today not doing (what I believe) is their full potential on making the system work. Making the game in Java. Making it in C could have made the graphics better. Even now if they'd change the game to C and just make a small program to convert all of the saved characters and their stats over to C, I believe the game could be better graphics and function wise. They could also remove common-click programs completely by just disabling the send methods used in Java... Or so I believe from what I've seen other C-based games do. But those are all that I can think of at the moment... I'm sure they've made countless more, but overall, I still think they made a great game! :)

Yea...You're the only one. Most people like interacting with others and working to make their character one-step better than other characters or than you were before. The majority, I should say, of people who play RuneScape want to get the high levels for the sake of getting new items, being able to earn more money, or just for the sake of being able to say "Woohoo, I did it." When I play the game, sure, I play it alone for the most part, besides some quests that a level 3 can't do alone, for those I get help, but I level all my skills, trying to keep them even, and while leveling them, don't care who's watching or talking to me, I'm always generally kind and talk back (as long as they don't call me a macroer  ) I'd think you just don't like socializing as much as most do, and you definately don't care what others think of you as a player or person. Nothing wrong with that at all, it's just uncommon among the average RuneScape player. Just my opinion. :)

Well, at least Toxicologist agrees :P But Huta, I was actually thinking about that last night. Second screen (I'll make a picture later) could look similar to the way it looks now, yet you could click on the item, or hold your mouse over it and the stats could be shown. If you get what I mean...the second screen would remain looking clean and you could decide which items you'd like to re-view to make sure there isn't a scam in order. Another idea I came up with on this issue would be to name the lower items differently from the higher items by adding prefixes such as "Low-Quality [item]" as opposed to "Excellent [item]" which would be applied to each item. For example: "Low-Quality Whip" "Excellent Whip" Yes this would add more words and dimensions to items, but again, no new items -

Not at all. In fact, what this would do is make the better items of the same class even more prestigious than the lower ones. Someone with a whip would still look like... erm... a person with a whip. The appearance of the item wouldn't change... And generally, the effectiveness of an item wouldn't change. It would just add a new twist to items in making them different as opposed to all the same. Erm... Yea... that would be the point. But that's not to say that the *best* rune scimmy would be common. As of now everyone has a rune scimmy, all the same. If they were different, a person just training for the sake of training could buy one with lower stats, while a pker could buy one with higher stats. Of course the economy would change, but it does with every update... No items would be added at all. The same items would be in RuneScape. The only thing that would change is the potential of those items. Some would be better, some would be worse. If you were buying a whip (for instance) you could either buy a perfect, or greater one, for more money, or a lesser one for less money. either way it would remain a whip though. It would also add to the anticipation when you get a whip-drop ;) -

Lol, I know, I just wanted it to happen and had to find a reason  But is that a support? :P -
Well, I don't really know about many others, but when I'm deciding which weapon is better for what I'm doing ... I always have trouble figuring out the exact stats of each. Definately when the obby shield first came out, with it's +5 to strength, nobody could decide which was better, and for some like me, who had just gotten the shield, it took a while to find out the stats (I finally went with an obby shield after writing down the stats on paper and comparing them with 2 visuals  ) Sure you can unequip everything and only equip the item to see the stats like I did, but that's somewhat tedious. Why not either make it so that when you put your mouse over an item you can see the stats ... Either that or a new right-click option being "Stats" It could look like this: (same image as my other topic, I know ;) ) *Note - For Pkers and duelers who may say that this could interfere with their fighting if they constantly havd the stats of a weapon popping up, you could use the right-click option as I said before, an option to disable these constant popups while switching weapons, or just plain have this feature disabled in the wilderness and dueling arena.

Well, my idea is simple, yet would change a lot about the game. As of right now, all of the same items are the same, a whip is the same as any other whip, and a rune scimitar is the same as a rune scimitar. My suggestion is to make it so that some rune scimitars are better than others, and some whips are better than others. This mattering, in some cases, what monster dropped it, while in others, what smithing level that you are. Experience wouldn't change (in my mind) and levels to wear things would change (also, just in my mind). Durability could come later (like barrows, yet for all armor), but not yet as I know many people hate that part of other games. They would look somewhat like this: Yet could also look like Showing the stats would prevent scamming, and therefore be called the anti-scam ;) If you understand what I'm saying without the picture, you can reply, else, please wait until I get these pictures up to get the full-scale idea of what I'm talking about. If you'd like to know in relation to other games what this idea is like, look at some of Diablo II's weaponry and that is very similar. The attributes of these weapons would be the same, we wouldn't add any of the many other attributes that Diablo II has like poison and change of critical hit etc., but it would stay with slash damage, bash damage, stab damage, etc and the defenses, those would just vary. Clarifier - (Generally) The armor classes would stay the same. i.e. Rune better than Addy, Addy better than mith, mith better than black etc etc etc... Addressing the scamming issue: Addressing the economy: Not necessarily ruin it, but could in fact possibly save it. Having higher and lower whips/weapons would allow poorer players to be able to buy lower-weapons and richer players to buy higher-weapons. Then, instead of people complaining about how high certain items have gotten in cost, they could buy a lower - yet still effective for what they want to do - item to complete the task. No way! 5 separate spots for the same type of item?! Waste of space! Well, I've actually come up with a solution to that and made a visual .gif image to simluate how this problem could be fixed by simply adding a "specific item screen" over the actual bank screen. You could X-out of this second "specific item screen" and you would be brought back to your bank screen. (Best/Worst would be calculated by adding up all stats - including negatives. The one with the highest number is considered the 'best') Yes this would add more words and dimensions to items, but again, no new items Supporters: 1.) None2None 2.) Toxicologist 3.) mrmyk 4.) Masterthias 41.) go461 A related idea that I liked, suggested by ThruItAll but not included in the support list, just for Jagex or others to look at and ponder: (comment on it if you like/dislike it. If there are enough I'll make a new support list) The suggestion made was to have only the basic weapon tradable - All higher and lower variations of the weapon could only be gotten through drops from monsters, and most likely only sold to a general store for a certain amount based on the quality - Nobody else could see this item appear. This would make slayer more useful as well as add a point in looking for drops like a rune scimmy.

What will Runescape be like in 50 years? Or even 5?
None2None replied to n_odie's topic in General Discussion
I actually think that there's hope for the game ... If they can fix the macroing problem ... How will it be around? My only logic here is that, well, if you think about it, we're just beginning the online-gaming era. Go back a few years, before the X-Box 360 and PS3, and there really wasn't a way to even play online. Now that games like Guitar Hero, Gears of War, and many others have come out and began updating their games online, as well as making new versions, who knows? For those who say that there has never been a game to last more than 10-15 years ... Erm, could you name one? 5-15 years back is '02 - '92 ... In 1992, I don't think that many people would have been able to play an online game with the computers avalible, definately not like RuneScape ... And I also don't think that a company would have been able to update a game without pulling the whole site down for a week, and then forcing everyone to do a full 3 hour-1 day download to continue playing ... If the company would have been able to keep an online database of all the stats. Else it would just be like a flash game today. Personally, I believe that since RuneScape is able to compound experience with multiple log-ins, update the game regularly, meaning once every week or 2, and since they've proven that they care about jumps in technology (by moving from RSC to RS2 for the soul sake of graphics) I definately think it's possible that RuneScape will be here because boredom won't surcome players as fast - if ever - while playing RuneScape ... As long as they keep updating the game and making it possible to do different things :) . What would change? Well, first of all, in 50 years I think the HD stage will be at full and everyone will most likely have an HD computer - or something better - at their homes. RuneScape would probably look like WoW right now, yet with better graphics. By saying that I mean being able to see limbs on trees, grass, hills and mountains in the distance, tasks less repetitive and more skill-oriented, andmany other things. You'd probably be able to jump, swim, and many other things that the average person today would be able to do. Macroing would be nea-impossible - if even possible - and every player would of course be prevented of cheating on any level, how, I don't really know; but I'm sure it'll happen. On the armor and weapons stampoint, I don't think there will be many more armors, but I do believe there will be more that one can do with armor, such as trimming the armor with some substance gotten from the ... err ... mountains of the Gods, Idk :-s ? As well as socketing and things like that. I only say this based upon the complaints that people have about the game today. Graphics being a major one, along with macroing, followed by new skills, newer weapons, and many other things along the lines of that (you reminded me of one of my older suggestionns, thanks, hopefully people will like this one as much as Live Maps :XD: ) My suggestion to the game (that wou'll be able to find shortly in the Bugs & Suggestions section of tip.it), and future prediction, is also that all armors won't be the same. All of the metals and materials will still exist, but mattering how good you are, you could make a better or worse sword, mattering how lucky you are, the monster you kill could drop a higher-bonus rune sword, or a lower-bonus rune sword. The same weapon, different attributes to that weapon (See descriptions of Diablo II's weapon and Armor system if you want to know more about what I'm talking about and the scam-proof ways that people would trade). ------------------------------------- These are my beliefs of the future of RuneScape, reguardless if owned by Andrew and Paul, I have a feeling that whichever company gets ahold of it, be it Blizzard, Microsoft, or someone else. Hopefully that company will, in fact, be able to add more to the game faster than Andrew and Paul because of this future company's beginning cashflow. Just an opinion. Offtopic: Now moving onto making that suggestion :XD: -
Autoers, the final solution (or so I hope...)

Decent idea in theory, but keeping in mind that macroers would then just claim they arn't macroing (as now) and cheat anyway as a normal player... Erm...nty, sorry. -

.:Best "Lucky" Merchants:..:Post them here!!:.
None2None replied to jenkees's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't say "lucky" but it was educated... I had been picking up planks, tiles, and making nails in anticipation for construction before the day it came out. By the time it came I had ~3k planks, ~50k bronze nails, and ~3k tiles. Well, the tiles were useless, but I sold the nails for 100 each, the planks for 2k each, and the tiles for 100 each (I really dk what he was thinking  ) Anyway, I made 11.3M in the week that it took me to get the stuff...and by my standards that's good playing 2 hours a day...reguardless what others think :P -

Or try this. Lets make a rotating box come up at a random time with numbers in shapes and then ask a question like "What shape is around 7?" And have them answer! (strange box if you haven't caught on...) [/sarcasm] Yea...Won't work. Sorry. -

U like RS because RS has more non-combat related skills and a more non-combat OR combat based system. As for the combat half, WoW probably wins...but as for PKing, RS has a better system if you ask me. The wilderness is a great way to allow player-killing while at the same time adding awareness. And dueling? I dont think WoW even has that... ;) RS FTW :P
