I think the underscore accounts were created pre-IPB. It should be 'enabled' if possible on here though if people cannot create accounts with underscores. :thumbup:

Well they don't control us nor us them. They asked us to remove the adverts, and we have obviously agreed. We were not forced into it however, Tip.it still makes up its own mind. :thumbup:

I have a feeling that if Jagex thought they could get away with banning fansites from even discussing other games, they'd do that too. I'd be incredibly shocked if they did that, though regardless, they have said they did not have a problem with the discussion of games anyway. I think banning adverts for games is petty, but I don't believe they could ever, ever be that petty. Not worth thinking over anyway, as they have said it won't happen. :thumbup:

Well it is good to know we should be on our way back to platinum, even though I disagree with supressing other gaming sites (it's the internet, people will find them anyway :razz: ). At least we can all safely discuss Tip.it ingame without being penalised.

They stood up to Jagex and refused the advert deal that was offered, I believe.

There's a first for everything. I agree with this post. It seems they have seen our frustration, but to repost suddenly saying that we should have specifications like no gaming adverts for their support? Heh. It should either be: Site is helpful, good community, well maintained and does not break rules thus received support, or doesn't do any of that and as such is no support. How are advertisements going to effect them. /me finds the situation amusing. Oh and first RS fansite, one of the largest, and we aren't platinum? I see.

I won't lie, I disagree with it. I realise people are saying "Oh it's only adverts", but at the same time it is setting a precedent that Jagex can threaten us with revoking our 'safe site' ability to make us make changes they want. To be honest, a company that makes millions shouldn't be scared of games such as Evony. And when the companies themselves are advertising WoW, it screams hypocrisy (I have witnessed them amongst others). I like our users being able to say tip.it ingame, but when they, in theory, threaten to ban/mute those who say tip.it just because we do not make the changes they want (whilst still being a rule abiding, virus free website), that just becomes petty.

I did not have time to attend it, which is unfortunate. Doesn't sound like I missed much though. :unsure:

I can see how the items in the peoples hands could have been mistaken for weapons, however, shooting an entire crowd of people & at a person running away without a weapon? Then shooting at a van with people who did not pick up weapons, merely helped the wounded? It's plain stupid. Every army has a dark side, I know the army for my country (England) has had some terrible incidents, but in this day and age you would think emotion and common sense would kick in. The people wanting the civilians to pick up 'weapons' and asking over and over to 'engage' just shows that such people are getting sick kicks out of being in a war. And to be frank, those are not the people I'd want my country working with in a war (currently Afghanistan), heck I don't think we should be there in the first place. It does not sum up the US Army, but that is a down-right stupid incident to happen.
