  1. I got the answer. The Crystal Trinket wasn't in his inventory when trying to reenter. :wall: I was sure we'd tried that!
  2. I haven't been able to find the answer to this anywhere and me and my friend can't seem to figure it out. Yesterday my friend began Within The Light and made it right to the end. He managed to reach the Crystal Ballista and successfully shot the target, but on his way back through the maze he died by taking too much damage from the spikes. He lost every item he gained during the quest. He took the time to get a full set of mourner gear back, grabbed his own Death Talisman, got the keys back and restocked on food and whatever else and headed back to the Temple Of Light but wasn't able to reenter it - "A strange force blocks your path". Does anyone know how to get back in using that entrance? It's possible to head through the Abyss and get back inside by travelling to the Death Altar and then using the portal. However, the point of the quest my friend has died at required to him have rotated the mirror to allow him to get out to the floor above. This means that he's stuck in the room with Arianwyn and the Mysterious Ruins because the light door isn't open. So he has to get back in to the Temple by using the original entrance. Anyone have any ideas?
  3. Ahh! See, obvious... That's done the trick. :-# Thanks for the help all.
  4. I can't find any topic with someone having this issue, assuming it is an issue. I've just started doing the general trick of buying/picking pineapples from the various places to enable me to make supercompost easier. I filled the compost bins at Ardougne and the Port Phasmatys spot with no problem. Whenever I try to do the same at Falador and Catherby it doesn't let me. Any time I try I get an option screen with the heading "This is a supercompostable item - are you sure?". The two options are "Yes, I want to use it to make normal compost." and "No, I don't want to waste it making normal compost." There is nothing already in the compost bins, whenever I use a bucket with them I get the "nothing interesting happens" line. There was normal compost in the bin at Ardougne which I removed and it still allowed me to put my pineapples in with no problem. I have no idea why this is happening and no idea how to fix it. I just have this feeling that what I need to do is glaringly obvious and I'm missing it. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
  5. I'm currently doing the Desert Treasure quest. I have the Shadow Diamond and am currently trying to obtain the Blood Diamond - so I am in Canafis I have the blessed silver pot filled with fresh blood and garlic, with spices to cover the smell and all I have left to do is to fight Dessous (the vampire/demon). The only problem is, I can't get to him! The only way that I see to be able to make it to the graveyard in order to fight him, is over the small rope bridge near the NPC Curpile Foyd. All other possible routes are blocked by those tall reed things which, as far as I'm aware, you cannot cut down. So with this apparent only option of the bridge I am stuck, because the bridge is broke and doesn't allow me to cross. I've checked the quest guide here on the site, and there's no mention of this. Nor any mention of needing item(s) to fix the bridge before crossing it. I also meet all the requirements for this quest (according to the guide), so I shouldn't have already repaired the bridge in another quest. Do I need to use a rope and/or plank(s) on the rope bridge in order to fix it? Or is there something I'm missing.
  6. Thank you Celestrana! You mentioned one of the few things I didn't try - the cape! That's what got me in! I passed Evil Dave's test of evilness by wearing; shades robes with the black cape and wielding my dyed SilverLight! Thanks to you guys aswell, run4runes and nicrune008, for your input! It was appreciated. I shall definately come back here if I find myself stuck on a quest again.
  7. No the only things I'm wearing are the parts of my evil outfit, and the only things in my inventory are: Money. Waterskins. Strange Implement. I didn't even bother bringing the Desert Robes since I thought having anything white in my inventory would stop me from getting in. Edit: Nicrune, I've done that already.
  8. Hi, I'm currently trying to complete the Shadow of the Storm quest but it appears I can't even clear the first hurdle. Evil Dave will not let me into the Throne Room, not matter what I try! I've tried wearing various "evil" clothes; black armour, priest gown, shade robes and dyed desert robes all with farseer helm and/or mime boots - all items which are classified by Tip.It as the required "evil" clothes. Furthermore, I have used the black mushroom ink on my SilverLight and have tried getting in whilst wielding it and not wielding it. Nothing. Nothing I'm trying is working. I've even gone so far as too change my appearance, turning my hair black! :P I'm nearly totally stumped and I'm positive I haven't done anything wrong so far - it would be hard to get it wrong since I'm still at the start! And yes, I meet all the requirements needed to do the quest. My last thought is that I spoke to Evil Dave the first time whilst already wearing my evil outfit. Should I have spoken to him without it first, and then tried again whilst wearing it? I'm so stuck. Any ideas?
  9. Thanks for the replies. :) I should manage to get 75 today and hopefully I won't miss the chance to SS it, and then I'll update my first post. I also noticed I forgot to mention anything about my current stats, although you can see those from my sig, I still might put in a little bit about them.
  10. Introduction. Back when RuneScape was still in classic I found my love for this skill. Way before RS2. Before respawning rocks and having to find yourself a "route". Before the different pickaxes when everyone had the same one, and when you could truly powermine - there I was mining away my 6 week break from school. Yes, the first skill I fell in love with was mining. I recently made a topic in the general p2p discussions forum, which was a list showing the number of people who had 99 in each skill. To my surprise only 350 people had managed to get 99 mining. Well, I wonder... Then I checked this section of the forums, and there's a handful of topics talking about mining goals. Two imparticular stood out to me, firstly: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=592000&start=0 - People in this topic telling this guy he's reaching to far, some even going as far as to bash him for this goal. Yet, he's still trying to get it. Props dude. It's a hard goal no doubt and I truely wish you the best of luck, you've given me some inspiration. ...And secondly: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=586582&start=0 - I'm highly impressed by this. He's posted in my first mentioned topic wishing that guy good luck, but also saying he's just hit level 70. I check his thread and he's recently achieved level 89! Again I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you achieve level 99, hell, there's little doubt in my mind you'll get there now. Not to forget the guy who's going for 60 mining. Good luck with that too dude. Due to 99 mining being so rare, and the two above topics, I picked up my pickaxe again for the first time in a long while and went to the exact spot where it all began - Dwarvern Mines. I found my love for mining again and have managed to achieve level 74 from 73 having started today (I missed the SS #-o) and am on my way to 75. I feel like my passion for the skill is there again, and I feel like I can achieve what few others have. 99 mining. The Plan. Well to be completely honest, I don't have a set plan. I haven't laid down a time frame to which I plan to stick. I haven't planned out how to most effectively gain exp. I'm not worrying about the respawn rates, nor have I worked out where the best place to mine is. I've just grabbed my pickaxe and went to an area where I thought was good, and thought about a few things. So far I feel like I'm going to mine iron until 85, or there abouts. From there it'll probably be coal all the way until 99. However I'd also like to raise my smithing, so at some point in there I might mine both coal and iron and bank it, but I guess we'll see. I'm mining south of Ardounge close to the clocktower at the rocks around the dungeon entrance: http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w28/PFCaDF/?action=view&current=MiningArea.jpg Also, this is my "setup" if you like. How I look: http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w28/PFCaDF/?action=view&current=Dress.jpg And my inventory: http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w28/PFCaDF/?action=view&current=Inventory.jpg Nothing amazing! Back to the good old days with the leather boots and gloves. The second pickaxe is simply for convenience as I'm sure you've figured. If my first one breaks it doesn't stop me from mining, if my second breaks also then I guess I'll be forced to get them repaired. :P One thing I haven't quite decided on what to do with, is the gems. For now I'm banking them after I collect 7 of them (so two rows of my inventory are constantly filled, meaning I have to drop more) and I think that's the best way forward, but anyone else with a suggestion feel free to post it here. That's about all I can think of right now. Any words of wisdom are appreciated and I'll be sure to take them on board. Rate or hate!
  11. I'd very much love to still be able to play RuneScape Classic. Is there anyway to enable my account to do so? Man I miss that game. The screenshots bring back memories of a simple game which I enjoyed playing my school nights away on. :P
  12. I don't know whether this has already been done, or for that matter, whether any will find this interesting at all. :P However, I just thought I'd make this list and it could possibly create some discussions. This list shows all of the people within the game who have reached level 99 in a skill. *Note - This list is being compiled at 21:07 GMT, March 1st '07. Attack - 12,880. Defence - 7,585. Strength - 14,052. Hitpoints - 9,285. Ranged - 4,487. Prayer - 1,237. Magic - 3,622. Cooking - 10,891. Woodcutting - 3,754. Fletching - 11,189. Fishing - 1,451. Firemaking - 1,423. Crafting - 308. Smithing - 476. Mining - 350. Herblore - 126. Agility - 197. Thieving - 950. Slayer - 181. Farming - 121. Runecrafting - 160. Hunter - 271. Construction - 86. *Note: List completed at 21:37 GMT. March 1st '07. I hope that interests a few people, I know there's a few jaw droppers in there for me. Not particularly when we get lower down to the newer stats, thus having lower numbers, but more so some of the others. Such as mining and smithing. Those two skills have been on RuneScape since classic, yet only a tiny proportion of the entire community has managed to achieve the highest level. There were one or two more which were slight surprises, but I shall hopefully leave some of you to discuss this!
  13. Yeah, but having 200 million exp in one skill, is equal to having 99 in 15 different skills (purely in statistical terms).
  14. G'day all. I'm Knight Ste, level 83. Believe it or not, I found this game in '01 when I was 13 years old. I didn't grasp the game much back then, and have stopped playing several times for long periods, the last one being for over 2 years - the others a few months at a time. So overall I may have only accumulated a little over a year in playing time. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't have quit, since I had a lot of items which are considered rare now! I managed to get a party hat set, with a second white and a left over cracker! I had a green halloween mask, and a santa! Along with those, I had the disc of returning from the cool mini game in Dwarvern Mines and possibly an Easter egg, although I may not have. Being as young as I was, I ended up giving away or selling those items back then for obviously nowhere near the amount of GP they'd rake in now! Sad times! Recently I decided to log on again, and attempt any quest which took my fancy (quests tend to spark up a little interest in the game for me), I completed 4 quests one after the other, one of which was the Legend Quest; one I'd be aiming to do for a while. I visited Tip.It to find out about these new skills, and I managed to stumble across The_Tallest1's thread about him raising his skill total etc. I read the entire 17 p ages of the thread, impressed by Tallest's achievements aswell as others who posted in that thread (swampjedi comes to mind). Reading about this got me motivated to have another crack at playing, and so here I am attempting to get 99 cooking! Good luck, 'Scapers.
