  1. Because the United States refuses to use the metric system.
  2. Taking a look at RSOF and front page shows several listings for masks(green) with all offering mints. Maybe a few people are spamming lower prices as seen in several threads. Yet, if I had the money I would throw it at santas.
  3. It seems masks and santas have broken the trend this year of always crashing after their respected holiday. The last few years they would rise in anticipation of the holiday and crash sooner and sooner as people tried to cash out. I normally sell about a month before the holiday, but I decided to hold onto my masks for good reason.
  4. The skill of course starts with the letter B. I have direct information that the new skill will be BANKING. The skill will consist of Jagex's central bank lending money to member owned banks which lend to FTP. From what I know so far levels 1-30 are simply known as sub prime. The skill is on hold due to a serious bug: Currently member banks are forced to lend to F2P no matter what their skill level is. One tester remarked how easy it was with level one banking to get a 10 million gp loan from a P2P member with no intention of paying it back! The only solutions Jagex has come up with is to give the member banks more gold or reinstate the black hole and rename it "Debtor's Prison."
  5. From forums a big mercher is trading 19 red masks for 5mints each. Wouldn't this value mints at over 10m? Have mints really gone up this much are is it just too good to be true?
  6. I know there is a party hat thread, but I wanted to continue the conversation from an old post several years ago since Yellow surpassed Green. Instead of bumping it you can find it here: http://forum.tip.it/topic/72039-position-of-party-hats/ (From 2006 where you can find posts by the greatest merchant Duke_Freedom and others arguing if party hats will ever reach 1 billion...) Basic question is if you ever think the order of party hats will ever change, as in: Blue White Red Yellow Green Purple Of course the dupe had a profound impact, but after the event the general consensus was the order would never change.
  7. I thought of a great idea. Lets remove trade limits.
  8. We should redistribute all wealth in this game...starting with your bank
  9. "AFAIK you shouldn't spam topics... If you dont understand something, either google it or PM the author." Gin_and_Tonic, I am sure in your nearly 3,000 posts you have gone off topic at some point (just like my post here).
  10. I am sure everyone at some point in playing Runescape has heard the lines: (In response to being called a noob) "This not my main" "Im goin to get my main and kick your cabbage" or maybe even the claim they have a party hat set on their other account. Now, I know many players will create a separate account for combat as long their accounts don't "interact." There are also the few who go for titles like lowest level with fire cape. However, I have no idea why people make accounts just for skills. I recall an old friend who made a separate account to just woodcut. Why not spend all your time on one account? This isn't Diablo where new builds are always exciting. Staking is gone, so why do you/others create new accounts?
  11. May I start the rumor that people can log into their classic accounts with all their old rares still available and transferable to the RS2 market? The market is now flooded and start selling your rares for lob/coal certs.
  12. This comment made my day.
  13. Thanks for all the answers! It didn't dawn on me until I was browsing the discontinued forums and saw rares being traded for pizzas.
  14. Simple question and looking for a simple answer. Why is everyone buying plain pizzas? -thanks
  15. I know no one can know for certain where masks/santas will go. Yet, is anyone else surprised these other rares have yet to go 10x like the others?
  16. Agreed. Pretty sure this is one of the first things Jagex mentioned and fears of potential liability.
  17. They should take a page out of Diablo II and introduce gambling for items as a cash sink. Actually, a lot of trading in Diablo II takes place on a third party website called d2jsp. The website has its own currency tied to you forum accounts, known as Forum Gold or FG. And FG enters circulation by, you guessed it, people paying the website owner real money for it. Lol no. In Diablo II on ladder people use Stone Of Jordans as currency and 3/20/20's on non-ladder. Or atleast they did. The two very big differences though is that the GE controls the price of items. They did. Unfortunately, trading on battle.net is a thing of the past, more or less. At the time I'm making this post, there are over 150 people on the US-East Ladder trading forum of d2jsp, and 100 more people on the US-East Non-Ladder trading forum. There are 35 people in the battle.net trading chatrooms for US-East Ladder. Keep in mind that this is being written at 4 AM in the morning, local time for that region. The trade limitations will do a lot to hinder trading. However, keep in mind that the crashing prices are already spurring RWT. Need a Bandos Chestplate but no one will sell it for cash? There are plenty of forums where someone would be happy to sell you it mid-price. If you send them $10 via paypal right after. Can't afford to find junk? Get compensated in USD or Euros when selling your item for mid price instead. Runescape's ecoenomy is an utter disaster right now... the trade limits, the holy grail of ending RWT, was only half of what it was made out to be - it stopped botters and gold farmers in their tracks, but actively encourages players to engage in RWT. not to promote another website, but d2jsp does have a Runescape forum that pretty much breaks every rule in the book...
  18. It's all over, escape, escape while you can Agreed! I have been playing off and on since 2001 and I thought I would stop playing once and for all after the trade limits. Yet, the inflation has done far worse than anything in this game. I won't renew my membership until it is fixed...and I move back to the U.S....or they come out with a Chinese language version (won't hold breath).
  19. This is why I stopped playing Diablo (on top of the dupes).
  20. I agree to wait until after Halloween. Contrary to popular belief the prices normally crash and haven't gone up since what 2004/2005 on Halloween?
  21. I guess the easy answer is do a combo of tasks you enjoy and make money. I for one enjoyed mining rune and merching on the side. Some people may find a task at 300k an hour more fun than a task at 500k an hour.
  22. I mostly blame Jagex for creating the problem...but there are other threads for that.
  23. Just summed up the GE in one post.
  24. I'm still trying to contain the excitement from being able to smith grappling hooks.
