I wish ftp could change names. I canceled my membership right before the name update. Stuck with 'god cheese' that I created when I was 13 because I couldn't think of anything at the time. Didn't really see myself playing long.

I'm sure dukefreedom is mentioned somewhere in this thread. He was the go to merchant of his day, before he decided to RWT. I think he was the richest player at one point, but he always kept his chat open for anyone willing to deal.

Doubling Money.. and Other Weird phenomena..
cookiestealer222 replied to Freakyhair's topic in General Discussion
I was in Vegas last month and started playing $1 roulette. I was up about $20 doubling on losses. Last night there I see it hit black two times already. I put a dollar on red and lose. The ball lands on black five more times (7 in a row total) and I'm out of money. Put my last $3 on red to win, but this was the 8th spin. Even with 49.5% chance of winning I was cleaned out and left to invest in alcohol. -
Sorry, I don't see the image you just posted. I think sometimes they don't get pass the government firewall here in China.

This is probably a dumb question, but I was surprised that when I logged in today to find I didn't have e-mail or security questions set. This is strange because I thought I set security questions like 5 years ago... So when I input a new e-mail address I was told an e-mail would be sent and to follow the instructions. It was from RuneScapeNoReply@jagex and just wanted me to click on a link starting with secureDOTrunescapeDOTcom Any problems with these e-mails? Never asked to input my user name or password. I also used my cellphone to check the e-mail, so hoping it's legit. Also said "registered trademarks of Jagex Ltd in the United Kingdom and trademarks used in other countries of the world." at the end. Another member said this isn't right?

I thought it was posted several times on the website over the years. Oh well, 10 years ago is a long time to remember, but I do recall finding Runescape on another gaming website. Not like I decided randomly to search Runescape...

10 years in September. Came across the game on miniclip (yes, I'm THAT guy). I'd credit this game a lot for helping develop my sense of business, as I enjoyed merching and paying people to gather bones for me. Also learned some valuable lessons on trust after a few stabs in the back. Helped me with some survival skills that I took on my own in China. Lots of people want to take advantage of the foreigner over here.

They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers." The Library of Congress notes that this quote is attributed to Socrates by Plato. This should be thrown in every time you hear an older person say "back in my day"... -
I just gave up. Killed one bot and all it gave me was an inventory of raw lobsters. Another guy came by and showed me about 15k in fish he looted. Another annoying thing is the gravestone jumped an extra minute after the three minutes. Just people praying for it?

Does Jagex have self confidence anymore

I'm sure the giveaway is only for members and they only include the FTP postcards to cover their legal butt. Just like in the US, most drawings include this to avoid being labeled a lottery. -

Grats on being kicked from cc in the end rofl ;) i think white might be at or above max cash. Not too sure though. That guy who staked with you is a serious idiot not to have brought a titan with him in a summon on duel lol. Would have sucked for you if he remembered his steel titan ;) Was that the glitch or just people using the healing summon? -

Jagex picky about password retrieval
cookiestealer222 replied to cookiestealer222's topic in Help and Advice
Got my account back! I took the advice from RSfreak1234 that one of my answers was not getting past the auto response. I decided to re enter everything without stating I had members before. Once you say you had members they ask for the month and registration number, which I didn't recall, so maybe this just locked me out all together. Thanks for all the responses and support in my hour of need! edit: If anyone was wondering...I do remember my PIN -

I think the last time I forgot my password I was a member, so I assume a person was more likely to look at it. I also got my account back right away. -
Jagex picky about password retrieval
cookiestealer222 replied to cookiestealer222's topic in Help and Advice
Now I'm really getting frustrated. I don't understand why my credit card information and years of history are not enough to get my password back. Once again they ask for more information when I started the account. I never ever went through this much trouble last time and if I realized I would need all this information I would have put together a portfolio 8 years ago! -

The only info I remember is vaguely starting members 3-4 years ago. I don't have the exact month, but I have a few years of credit card receipts sent from Worldpay. I don't have the original transaction number as I wrote it down years ago and it's probably lost in my parents place in America somewhere. I am not a member currently, but I did send them a copy of the last transaction when I canceled my members. They keep wanting information on when I first started the account, so does that mean information from 8+ years ago as appose to members activity in the last 3-4? -
So this is the second time in the 8+ years I have been playing that I have forgotten my password. I'm on about my 5th appeal to have my password reset to no avail, so what am I doing wrong? Starting with e-mail registered to account: I've tried using my first e-mail and the e-mail I used to start members over 3 years ago. Recovery questions: I know 4/5 for sure and have tried a few answers for the last Previous passwords: I have given probably 5/7 of all the passwords I have used including my first one E-mail security code: Can't find it Contact details: I provided postcode and e-mail account New Password: Provided Other details: Gave them date I started account down to the month, which was over 8 years ago. Should I put the date I started members in this section? Provided internet provider Provided date I moved, which was the month I left the country Additional information: In this section I have sent in anywhere from most of the passwords I have ever had, dates I have moved, copies of credit card receipts, did give last 4 of credit card, month I canceled my membership, details on abuse reports sent and marks made on the account. The responses I keep getting back is that they want more details on when the account was first made. I have provided all this, except I don't recall the IP address from my US address. This is the second time going through this process and I didn't have any problems the first time. I'm not use to all these questions as I'm pretty sure all I had to do the first time was answer the recovery questions. I have also forgotten all the original membership numbers from over 3 years ago. Is there a specific detail that I'm really missing here? I moved from America to China, so do they just think all people in China must be hackers? If I don't get this account back you can count the white partyhat, two red masks, one green mask as out of the Runescape economy!

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
cookiestealer222 replied to bedman's topic in General Discussion
3.5m every 3.5 days looks pretty good to me. With a Divine, I'd had made double that in 1 day at Arma solos. Status item or no status item, in the end it is just a pixel hat that can not bring me any enjoyment via gameplay. I think this whole argument of "must have equipment" can be compared to buying a car. Say someone can get to work through mass transit within 30 minutes, and 20 minutes with a car. The argument there in lies that I will not be able to go to work without a personal vehicle and thus not make any money. I find this logic to be dumb and suggest buying whatever produces the most gp/time. Then again it is a game and feel free to spend that time having fun. -

Bank space in F2P for old member
cookiestealer222 replied to cookiestealer222's topic in Help and Advice
That's what I figured, but I'm still having problems. I just started taking out random items I figured were for F2P like leather boots, chocolate dust, willow short bow ect. Yet, when I take out random crappy items it just deducts from my members items. Am I still missing something? i think its probably becuase after you have 68 f2p things in your bank it just counts them in your members space. If you keep taking out f2p things you should find eventualyl when you have under 68 f2p items in there that the number will go down Yea, you're right. After taking out almost 100 items, I'm below the threshold. -

I knew there was an update with the bank space not too long ago, but I'm too lazy to track it down. Can someone explain if and how they made it easier for me to use my bank without dumping all my member stuff. Right now: Free bank 68/68 Member 371/428 I noticed I don't have a problem taking out items and putting them back if I leave at least one i.e. some runes. Yet, I don't want to be stuck with my partyhat out... Thanks for answers on this noob question. I haven't played in about a year and not seriously in several years.

Although I have played off and on since 2001, the GE is the worst thing to happen to this game for me. I dealt with it for awhile, but I finally canceled my membership last summer and have not played since. Sure I'll probably return to the game, but only after the inflation is taken care of (a new skill will not solve this).

I assume the OP is only referring to discontinued items as appose to just rare items in general. As discussed before it is probably some obscure quest/skill item very few people actually hold onto. Yet, most useless items are still kept for junk value.
