We regret to inform you that your account has received an infraction due to a Major Real World Trading offense. Please visit the appeal section under Account Management to view evidence of your offense(s) and to appeal any offense(s) that you feel were unjustified.

To view the evidence please click here: https://[LikelyScam']/m=weblogin/loginform.ws?mod=offence-appeal&ssl=1&expired=0&dest=account_history.ws

Please note: Due to a recent bug in our infraction system, some accounts may have received a void infraction. The majority of void infractions have been removed but we cannot ensure that all infractions have been removed. We urge you to visit the appeal section to appeal any unjustified infractions received due to system errors.

I will repeat this time and time again: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

It's funny how most scam emails have terrible grammar too...

Lost 80m to this. ;-;

That's the part that made me lol. "Trademarks used in other countries of the world" are more simply called "international trademarks" and "Jagex Ltd in the United Kingdom" just sounds hinky as I've never seen that kind of specificity of national location in any official Jagex correspondence. Mostly I've seen something like, "registered international trademarks of Jagex Ltd" or something similar.

Hello everyone, I'd like to take this chance to let everyone know not to fall for this one as I did.

My account is very secure bank pin, recoveries, email set the whole 9 yards, so I'm not worried recovery is pending as we speak but it did manage to fool me.

PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.

I received that email earlier this week, didn't fall for it now I know Jagex wouldn't send you an email themselves about this stuff. Went to official site, checked messages and mutes/bans, nothing.

That, and the link in the email goes to 'runescapee[LikelyScam]', instead of runescape.com, which is what you would expect.

Anyways, just got another email just like it. Just so you know, they keep trying to scam people.

Yeah seriously. How many times does Jagex have to say that they will NEVER send an email asking you to log in somewhere for a ban/mute/message/etc. They ALWAYS use the in RuneScape message box for those things. rolleyes.gif

Why are so many people falling for these emails??? Already 2 people in this thread have admitted to falling for it -.-

Yeah seriously. How many times does Jagex have to say that they will NEVER send an email asking you to log in somewhere for a ban/mute/message/etc. They ALWAYS, I wanna be with you and make believe with you and live in HARMONY HARMONY oh love! use the in RuneScape message box for those things. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, just came back to /v/ and had it in my head.

Anyway, yeah.

Jagex has said on multiple occations that they will never send you login links to your email. They always use the RuneScape message box you see in the lobby for those kinds of things.

Always when I see a link like that, sent to email, IRC or whatever, I always spam the login form with false information or just give them messages through it, note that they always contain some cursing in them.

It's fun to troll phishers.

Firewall/virus detection doesnt do anything about preventing you from installing dodgy addon or block browser exploits.

But tbh, I also spam the login form as well with promising looking fake logins and passwords.

You guys do know... Everyone on here that has said, "I SAW IT TOO!" has their e-mail address is set to public on Tip.It? I've pointed this out many times before...

Hmmm, I wonder how they're getting your e-mail addresses?!

If you don't want these scam e-mails, remove your e-mail address from public view on Tip.It!

So, click here (Your user profile settings), scroll down to MSN, AIM or whatever you have it displayed as, and remove it.
