  1. Yea, as said before, way too saturated. But i like it :) And you really gotta fix that font. Some sort of contrast typography would be nice, with two completely different font faces, but right now they look too similar and plain. And i also dont like the full red hue on the fonts. Or you can just do concord typo, as in one font face. Just make sure you choose a better font than that current one ;) hehe. Sweet logo though, and i like the tech-ish concept to it.
  2. What? Whats not true pixel? :? Using the brush tool instead of the pencil tool? If thats what you mean, the brush tool is the same as pencil, except more flexible... So i don't see what the fuss is. If you use the brush tool, you'd still need to do it pixel by pixel.
  3. Pixels can also be done with the brush tool, its just not as common. ;) And he most likely used the pencil (what i'm guessing you claim is the 'official pixel tool') tool for it, if you look at the lines you'll notice they aren't anti-aliased, which is normally only from the pencil tool (though its very possible with brush, too). But it looks like you made some scribbles and filled in different portions of it with different colours :| I don't really like it, it looks kinda like scribbles :| If you shaded the coloured parts of it, it might look a bit better. But i like your creativity ;) And your saying pixel sigs are totally original? All i see these days are pixel sigs. This idea is one i see rarely, and it could be good if you put some work into it. I think he's being pretty creative just thinking about a new style of art, instead of drawing a dead person by the axe hut.
  4. Nice piece :D I like the smooth, flowing lighting. You should definitely make a bigger one though, i hate when nice pieces are so small >.<
  5. I think the sun doesn't shade like that. Sun sends light, it doesn't have shadows. True. Alot of the shading is messed up, and really choppy looking. I don't like it much, sorry, but it seems pretty plain. Take the clouds for example, they have about 3 shades of colour - thats including the borders, mind you. Real clouds have TONS of different shades of colours, and are semi-transparent in most places. The ground also has very few colours, have you ever seen a ground and terrain that is just a sheet of solid orange? It could be a great sig, but right now its just very plain.
  6. Actually, they are more made than generated. At least i'd like to hope people model their 3D models instead of use pre-made ones.. Anyways, 3D Modeling, texturing and rendering is a ton better than abstracts, and requires a heck of alot more talent to get some nice results ;) And they can be made with a multitude of 3D Modeling programs, except the chance of them being made with bryce is very low (bryce sucks for modeling). But yes, entangle does over-use the same objects quite frequently.
  7. Actually, they both stole it. If one should be punished, an equal punishment should be given to the other, since they both plagerised. Nice drawing though, to whoever made it. But the photomanip attempt was really weak - all you did was fill it with colours. Didn't even bother shading...
  8. There is a fine line between simplistic and lacking detail :? And this is one of those sigs that lacks detail.. :? It looks like some polygons overtop of each other, each one faded. But i love the smooth animation :)
  9. Hmm.. This is ok, not as great as some of your others. I know i've said alot of your others seem crowded at times, but this one seems empty. :? But its still nice. I don't really like some of the shading (the outstretched arm, is one example), it kinda seems like you used a gradient as an easy way out. I also don't like the big river, it looks a bit overdone. Other than that, pretty nice. :)
  10. Ehhh... Its a little too orange for my tastes.. I don't particularly like the camera placement, or the [bleep]ey looking water. It also looks foggy or something.. near those mountains.
  11. Not unless you save it as something other than a .PNG, .BMP should also have reasonably good quality.
  12. you can do it in paint, which most computers should have. Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint Then select the text tool and make a selection, then just type in what you want. And i'm sure you've noticed, but the preview box is there as a preview, so its quality isn't going to be as good as the actual thing and its obviously going to be much smaller. To render the actual image, press the big "Render Image" button. :?
  13. Wow, brilliant observation  If you read my post, you'd notice i was trying to get an idea of which robe colour people like best... Not which person people liked the best, since they are the same.
  14. The horns on the text and the shape of the sword are ok, but i dont really like the shading.. I hate the type of shading that just looks like a gradient :? Good detail on the handle (though it doesn't appear to be shaded) and the arrow shafts ;)
  15. Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out. I've not fixed it, aswell as a couple other errors. For my shading, i just use pencil tool at 1-3px, shade a bit and blur it, then fool around with layer modes, masks and opacity. I try to do more realistic shading than just a horizontal/verticle gradient kind of shading. And i see what you mean by the white cloak thing, it didn't strike me till now :? My plan was a good vs evil kind of thing, the dark robes being similar to dark wizards and the white ones being similar to druids. Thanks for the comments/crits though :D
  16. The start of my first pixel sig, ever. I've almost finished the main part (the hooded guy) of the sig, next is to add background and other simple stuff. I know how much it sucks, and it would probably look better if i just made a bunch of small, simple shapes instead of a detailed and shaded face.. But i just wanted to challenge myself :) Currently working on: -Eye details -Hair and Facial Hair (includes eyebrows) -Background (duh ;)) Tell me what you think of it, what needs to be improved and which robe is better. Also, if you have any ideas for the background, I'd love to hear it! :D
  17. Yes yes, i remember you ;) I saw somebody on DoD a couple days back with the same name that kinda jogged my memory
  18. The guy lying on the ground looks like he had a major bladder problem. The text is really bad. The shading and details are really plain, and the shapes look all crumpled. Sorry, but its not very good in my opinion. But its a start :)
  19. Nice. I really love those clouds, but the dragons head looks confusing and really busy. Kinda reminds me of that sea monster from Pokemon.
  20. Heh runeknight, glad to see your still using that avatar. I could make you a way better one for free if you want, though. ;) It sure is tempting to enter though. *snickers at kyle* :D Jk, it looks like you have a chance in this one.
  21. Nicely done, Nadril. I like that planet alot, reminds me of some alien movie.
  22. :) Thanks. I actually know how to do pixel art, trend, grunge, and a bunch of other types of art, except i don't enjoy it as much as modeling or abstract. And i find that this place is over-run by pixel, and most people don't really do a good job at drawing, anti-aliasing, detailing or shading. :? Thanks for the comments, everyone :D I'll try fixin up text, too. But i'm not going near any of those cartoon fonts smothered with styles - it totally ruins a piece of art.
  23. All art below made by me; venomai. No stocks were used. All planets, models, materials, brushing etc.. were made by me. Made with Photoshop 7 and 3D Studios. Sigs: I lost my others :? lol Abstracts/Wallpapers: 3D Models: (just started modeling a couple weeks ago - so i'm still a big nub) A lame model of a handgun. I was leaving the details for the skinning, since i wanted to keep the poly reasonably low. Another lame model. This one is also Low Poly, if you didn't notice. Space Scenes: I've had better ones, these were just some 'quickies' for a small competition. And one I've been working on for the past little while, except i think i may have given up on it. As you can see, its clearly not done yet. Tutorials/Resources: http://www.aisupplies.deviantart.com Gallery: http://www.venomai.deviantart.com
  24. Alright, a few more sloppy entries from me. If you want titles or text on any of them, give me a shout..
  25. The planet is nice, but everything else seems very.. odd.. But nice asteroid, too :)
