  1. I don't have to make you look stupid, you're perfectly capable of that task on your own.
  2. Translation: I'm losing this arguement because I don't know what I'm talking about. Switch it to something else so I don't look stupid(er)!
  3. Oh and I love how whenever someone tries to say something against a game they always have a friend who they've watched played before. Also, PLEASE stop double posting! You can post more than a damn sentence in a post. ps: THIS is the world first kill of illidan.
  4. You're an idiot. The first kill on Illidan was 25 people and only 5 or 6 guilds have killed him so far in the world. Please just stop talking, you don't know anything. Yeah because you know everything from watching a paladin (probably the most boring class to watch in the game) play the game. Right.
  5. at least you die in that game, its nearly impossible to die in runescape. You haven't played the game, hush. And because you played a lvl 70 paladin for a couple minutes you think you know everything? Riiight. I know you didn't raid with it and you couldn't arena with it either. Really, as hard as you try it won't change the fact that it is a superior game to runescape. Runescape is a java based game that hardly costs money, WoW is different.
  6. Not a bad raid tonight at all. I got my two epics for the week (Farstrider Wildcloak and Girdle of Treachery) so I'm content. Spiteblade didn't drop, again, but whatever. It was deffinitly a healers ID though that run. Our resto shaman (just respeced) got 9 epics out of the entire kara run. Nearly got one from every single boss, mostly got them because no one else needed it. Our paladin got Gorehowl for when he wants to do ret as well.
  7. I said I was more refferering to the younger players, not ONLY. I still mean that some wow-"gamers" is more leet than the "gamers" that don't play WoW. For example I see "muuuuuch more 1337 sp3aking" in WoW forums than I see in for example this forum. I'm not reffering to all of the WoW players though, and I'm not judging people on what games they play, just to make that clear. I don't believe that. You're wrong. Have you even been to General, General P2P, or RS forums? Agreed. The only reason WoW gets crap for the community is: - Its popular, and its cool to hate on popular stuff. Hating on the community is an easy way to do it. - With all the players in the game there is bound to be idiots, especially in one so popular. Face it, the minority in WoW is the majority of every other MMOs entire player base. Really, only the minority of players in WoW are idiots. get into any good raiding guild and you'll quickly find most of them are older. - Barrens chat / forums. These are filled with trolls and just people messing around. Really, don't take the offical forums as an actual stance on the community. The mods are overwhelmed again and the minority is much louder than the majority of posters.
  8. English please? I don't understand a word you're saying. "There are different people in the world", what? There are many many players in WoW at one time. "I don't like doing the same thing sorry for all that." Ehm, wow. This just in but runescape does not have a lot of unique things to do. Yes, it has different skill names but lets look at them: Mining: Click a rock, get an ore. Fishing: Click the water, get a fish. Woodcutting: Click a tree, get a log. Ooh, exciting! Lets look at combat options: Combat: Click a monster, wait a few moments, get loot and xp. That sure is exciting, oh boy, let me tell you! If you're interested in tradeskills, WoW has that. PvP? Has it. Combat is varied, and you can mix it up between questing, instancing and even just some straight grinding once and a while. I'm sorry but all runescape is is grinding.
  9. my god.. 1 night of grinding.. Hardcore. seriously.. ive gone for about 34 hours without leaving the PC before while playing. From when i hit lvl 69 to when i hit 70 i only took 1 break. At least try the game before you say its boring. The one thing I don't get is runescape is all grinding. There is very little interaction with what you want to do as its all very simple. You can tell a game is poor when people would rather wander the internet while AFK training then actually, y'know, playing the game. And no one can say anything about grinding until they've played lineage II retail btw.
  10. Only reason I say this is because it has seeped into popular culture. Like I said there are a lot of players in the game who would never touch a different MMO, but they do bother to play WoW. I don't know why you try and bring runescape into this, as its just a crappy little Java game. Really the only thing someone will think of when one mentions RS is "haha, you played that?" and/or "wow that game sucks". None-the-less WoW is much more popular and accepted than other MMOs in the past. If you ask someone what WoW is, they'll probably know. Now ask them what Ultima Online is, or Lineage II or Anarchy Online. You'll get a much different set of replies.
  11. Uh, Jack who? No seriously, never heard of him. But I take it that was an insult... As for those people saying "You can either be a gamer or a rapper or druggie!!" That's not my point, you guys twisted my words. My point is why do you want a value system that praises laziness/leisurely activity over a culture that promotes capitalism and self success? Every country has nerds, and people that fun of nerds. The latter can't be helped but when it comes to the "nerds" would you rather have a culture that encourages them to become scientists and work for companies like Intel or Apple or would you rather have a culture that encourages all computer savvy people to stay at home and play WOW? Like I said, if you looking at the top 10% of the intelligent population, would you rather have them go to universities/business or would you rather have them all become professional gamers  Because gamers, or 'nerds', can't hold jobs. Right-o.
  12. Its $15 a month. WoW is generally the 'least' nerdy game there is. There are a lot of people who only play WoW and nothing else. #-o Its not the best MMO ever made but its the best one that is currently out now.
  13. A lot of games are older, and a lot of them also are games that probably have stopped really selling. There are new ones there too but they've struck deals with gametap.
  14. While the review sounded interesting, I've never heard of Gametap before. I'm guessing, by the way the review sounded, it's a bit like Steam except with a subscription, where you can dowload games much like you'd do video's in a video store? Kind of. Its kind of like if you paid blockbuster $15 a month and got access to everything they have, whenever you want online. I pretty much have some 900 games at my disposal to play whenever I want. This includes big name games as well as console games and lesser known games. legally? Yes, of course. No reason why I'd pay for something illegal.
  15. Half-life, i would agree. But Sonic? You must mean the earlier games and not the more recent ones (so half the series). Well, the sonics up to sonic adventure 2 to be exact. I hope im not going off-topic, but guess what! Rumors are surfacing of Bioware undertaking a Sonic-rpg. It's hard to believe I know. But if an incredible developer company like Bioware can't revive Sonic, then its a sign that Sonic is dead. PS: I read it in the latest issue of Game Informer (august 2007). I should make a thread about this or something. EDIT: here's a link. http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/press_releases/2007_06_21_Sonic_DS/ man, you got me excited... then I noticed it was DS. I'm all for them revitalizing the series but too bad they can't do it on a platform like PC or xbox360. :P Still, a sonic RPG.. interesting. I'd trust in bioware though, they're RPG gods.
  16. As far as yesterday went: Woke up Went to work Went home 2 hours early Laid down for a bit, was tired woke at around 5:30 Got on PC Got food (chipotle :P) On PC playing wow/other games) Sleep at around 2am #-o (wasn't tired last night because of the mid-day 3 hour some nap lol).
  17. Rogues on PTR: I'm still doing rough testing with a rogue on PTR, however I figured I'd share with how specs are doing. 19/42 combat maces: This, right now, is considered the best rogue PvP build. There is a few reasons for it. - No DR on mace stun proc - Sustained DPS - Burst DPS with adren rush. I tested out the spec my self and was fairly content with it. On the PTR I didn't do near as good as live because of no mods (so used to a stunwatch/energy ticker, was missing and screwing up combos all over the place) but this spec is great to lock someone down. The stun procs are mostly random. With a fast OH and spamming SS with your MH however it has a good chance of happening at least a few times a fight, and can be the difference between a win and a loss. 30/0/31 Seal fate backstab: So... this. I tried this one to see if daggers worked well, and well, they don't. I'll put it in ways people can understand. On a holy paladin I got a 700 backstab crit. 700 crit which sure could be lower on live since we don't have as much resiliance on PTR. The builds huge opener was just horrible, and the damage sucks. Because of resiliance mixed in with a dagger as well you don't have near as many backstab crits and CP gen is poor. Don't play this build in top end PvP. 21/0/40 Hemo: Now for a deep sub spec. Generally I am not a fan of sub, as its been proven among many american/euro rogues in the arena but I decided to try it anyways. The first good thing is control. Since hemo is 35 energy it really works well together with other skills of yours. I can't exactly burst someone down like another build but what I can do is control them, perfect for letting a 2v2 partner help out. The damage isn't bad (700 hemo crits on clothies with resiliance) and the CP generation is nice, not needing crits like popular seal fate builds. I'm going to try out some variations of hemo later on. 41/20 Combat mutilate: Haven't tried this one yet, but I need to. Needless to say though I dislike the damage 'burst' with the build, a 1.1k double crit with find weakness and imp kidney shot is just stupid. However in the fights I tried it I just couldn't stand it versus all that resiliance. Rogues on PTR aren't doing bad in my opinion. We need help in 5v5, thats obvious. However in 1v1/2v2 and to a smaller extent 3v3 we can still hold our own, as we usually are placing near the middle in 2v2/3v3 brackets. (slow day at work today, got time to type this :P)
  18. I do 8 hours of gaming a lot sometimes. (not straight though, breaks in between) . But yeah gaming is huge over there. They even show starcraft matches and the like on TV. I think all we need to do though is give it some time over here in the west.
  19. Hah someone else played bug? Hell, someone else had a sega saturn? And yeah its well worth it. I'm playing through Far cry finally on it. I've meant to pick up the game for 3 years and just never bothered, I have to say its a brilliant game now that I am playing it.
  20. Being a raiding rogue is tough, no matter which way you look at it. Sure, you don't have buffs to give, but that's really only a small part of it. Unless you are a very very good rogue, and your DPS is very hot, you are essentially being carried through the instance. Later on in Karazhan as well, some of the bosses aren't exactly melee DPS-friendly. Don't be discouraged though; we're still the most fun of all the classes, in my opinion, and when you do get on top of it, you will be one of the first invites to the raid group. [*:25yaiqb1]Read strats, and know what your role in each fight is. [*:25yaiqb1]Bring your own potions and bandages, and make yourself less of a mana-drain. [*:25yaiqb1]Work on your gear and techniques in 5 man content, especially Heroic instances. [*:25yaiqb1]Gimp other stats for +hit rating and +attack power - those gem bonuses are rarely worth keeping, so replace stuff with +ap and +hit gems. [*:25yaiqb1]Use an addon like Omen or KTM and learn how to control your aggro. As complex and difficult as it is, stick with it and you will enjoy it so much more than being a healbot or a meatshield, or whatever the other classes do (lol). I've never really felt useless. I top #1 in practically every fight in kara, hell, I topped curator with a mutilate build. (and the bugger is poison immune). We don't have buffs, yeah, but our damage more than makes up for it. I'm hoping my guild gets more of a melee style group (fury warrior/enh shaman/feral druid/rogue/rogue) combo instead of what we have. (warrior/druid/warrior/rogue/rogue) or something close to that. ---- So I've been testing various classes so far on the PTR. I've dueled with them and did some arena whenever my friend was on PTR. So far I've tested a Rogue, Mage, Warrior, Priest, Shaman, druid. Yesterday for a good second half of the day (after I tested a boomkin spec on the druid) I tried shaman. Hated the elemental play style but, what the hell, I tried enhancement. After some gear changes I really realized that I didn't do that bad. I want to find some good opponents to duel, those who know there class, but I think a PvP oriented enhancement shaman is a pretty good deal. Between resistance and resiliance my shaman is a bit more durable. I only had 100 some resiliance on PTR (wearing my T6 because S1 has no hit on it and poor melee stats un enchanted) but I had 10k hp running around with deep thunder. Some fights did vastly require me having my trinket to win. Against a good rogue I can win if I have natures swiftness and my pvp trinket up, which is a lot to say because they can control us the most out of any class. I did well against most other classes as well. Priests I would lay a tremor totem near me, and with luck get feared while being mind flayed. (slows me down, better chance for tremor to proc with me near it). Mages I could purge their shields and overall it wasn't bad. To say the least I was pleasantly surprised with the shaman. Granted a lot of people are playing new classes (which is why I want to try this out in arena sometime, at least its a bit tougher) but I figured it wasn't bad. Balance druid was an interesting class as well. Generally my focus in the arena (with a shadow priest partner) Would be to control the enemy's healer/dps while we work on bursting down the other guy in between. We had problems with healing groups but that was mostly due to our inexperience. Balance druids can put out some sick DPS if left alone. 2k wrath crits with moonfire and Insect swarm DoT(s) on the target really can hurt. Cyclone is, for a lack of a better word, amazing. 6 seconds of uninterrupted CC that can't be broken. It has harsh DM's but against a healer a good 9 seconds +shadow priest silence was enough to take out the enemy DPS. Root is nice as well for melee DPS. Some classes are tougher to hold than others (rogues) while warriors were incredibly easy to hold. Anyways the best thing I can say is don't underestimate balance as a PvP spec. I didn't like it near as much in the BG (I don't understand what compels people to attack the big bird first) but in arena its a solid build. --- I'll add some thoughts on Rogue/warrior/priest/mage in a bit.
  21. Thanks for that second link man, great band!
  22. Advertisement sticky please.... -.-
  23. lamb of god- Hourglass into: Alice in Chains- I Stay Away.
  24. Deep frost is nice. I doubted the level potential on my mage until I tried it (he is 47 as well actually). Nice burst damage (bleh gear and my frost bolts crit for 700) when the target is frozen and much more survivability. At 50 you get water elemental as well. Also my mage on the PTR went like 2/0/59. There are a lot of good frost talents to have. Well this is waht my deep frost build will look like (I got the two idea from you  ) at 70. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RbZZVAGIkfxsiqt This is what it will look like at 50...51 rather. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RZZVVMIofxsioz IMO http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RZZVVGcorxsbot @ 50.
