Far Cry produces a "serious error" in windows, help?
Hi. Recently I've been getting into the game Far Cry through gametap. The game has been working good for a while until I hit a certain part of the game. Now whenever I try to load a saved game it will get to the end of the loading bar and windows will force a restart. When it pops back up it says that windows has ocoured a serious error. I had a copy of the text the accompanied it but I lost the copy and really don't feel like redoing the crash. Every other game I have works just fine, its only Far Cry. It is really aggravating me because I want to play the game. :( My specs are: 7900 GS Intel 2 duo core 1.8 ghz 2GB corsair ram 650i Motherboard The only thread I have found on this issue would be: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1008143 But I tried what he did (compatibility mode) and it didn't help anything. ps: If there is any other info you need please tell me. edit: updated info! Error Signature: BCCode : 7f BCP1 : 00000000 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1 The following will be included in this error report: H:\DOCUME~1\ZACHAR~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER724f.dir00\Mini080307-01.dmp H:\DOCUME~1\ZACHAR~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER724f.dir00\sysdata.xml

The official World of Warcraft thread.
Just looked at your armory, found a biiiiiig problem. Get a much faster OH man, 1.9 speed is slow! Find a 1.4 speed or less dagger and put it in your OH, that will help. As combat daggers you'll probably do a 1s/3s/5r combo, which means 1cp SnD, 3 cp SnD 5 cp rupture and repeat.

Why can't America view gaming like Korea.
Likewise I'd consider single player games a lot like just shooting some baskets in basketball or playing catch with a football. It helps you with basic skills but not much beyond that.

I don't play Guild Wars, but in all honesty, do you learn all that much practical information about teamwork playing Guild Wars? Most of what you learn has to do with understanding the game more than real life. Though, again, I don't play, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance for a second. What happens during guild battles, and what about those guild battles (between you in your teammates) helps you in the real world, other than blatantly just saying "teamwork"? How often do people take leadership positions? What else can you tell me about it that would convince me that it's well used time, in comparison to say, soccer? Oh, and again, I'm already not an advocate for darts (I'm talking about real sports here, or at least getting up to archery please), and when I was putting it in the group with video games, I wasn't just talking about online stuff- I was including Megaman, Zelda, all that stuff that is, in a manner of speaking, totally worthless. Most benefits from games come from multiplayer games (that involve teamwork and coordination), but a vast number, possibly even the majority of games, are pretty much one player, and generally pretty useless. Many many times in guild battles I've taken the role of a leader, you have to be organized in the game or you'll lose. Yeah a small part of it is knowing what does what and what kind of team build you're using but a large part of it is teamwork.

Help, I'm going into middle school.
what part of it? Losing your virganitey or playing "7 in heaven" at your friends houses? :ohnoes: :uhh: .... :wall: :wall: Please, this is why we shouldn't allow little kids on these boards.

China limits teenage gaming to 3 hours a day
This is stupid. One of the big things that will happen is those who play for long periods of time will just have more than one account, bypassing the whole thing. Either way, go communism?

Oh thank god... I hate spiders.
When I opened up this topic the ad at the top was "do we eat spiders in our sleep?" :wall:

Why you say that? I always finish #1 DPS on our fights (even on ones not in my favor) in my guild. I don't find it tough at all.

Favorite Video Game Soundtrack?
Half life 1 and 2. They always managed to play the songs at the right time, one of the few FPS games I always had music on for. Second to that probably Chrono Trigger.

And I find it boring to listen to people who talk about nothing other than sports. Or how much they hate their school/class, or whatever. Guess what, different people enjoy different things. Don't talk to them if you don't share their same interests!

BB sucks for progression. We have like 1 guild that has been into Hyjal (they are horde side) and the rest aren't.

Really Heavy Metal.
Joke? I've had a listen to some of their stuff and I wouldn't really call it metal. It's all ambient eerie stuff. Anyone got some good tracks to start off with? Antikrist is a pretty good song by them, much more pertaining to black metal roots.

Lineage II: Heaven's Wail Problems
I'm assuming its a private server? I have no idea what you're talking about for it... thats probably something that should be asked on their forums.

Awesome. Got a 1669 rating so far with my 5v5 team I started with a friend, going to get 589 points this week =). My other two teams atm are 1574 (2v2) and 1573 (3v3). I'm hoping that we can really push our 5v5 in these next few weeks near 1800+... I think we can.

Bioshock
Haha, it won't. The Wii doesn't have near enough good specs to even run the game on all lows.

A new terrorist organisation
As I said in the other thread its the worst reporting I've ever seen, absolutely hilarious. I mean I hate /b/tards as much as everyone, but the way FOX reported it.. :P

Yes, and the picture that person used to flip and transparify looks very different than the one I've usually seen. Of course it doesn't... it was flipped and overlaid. :wall:

Any Game Ever Scared The Crap Out of You?
I was 15 when i played it. I was terrified. I had really good graphics and decided to play the level using headphones. The whole of that level is disturbing, everything from the washing lines to the saw blades. One of the best designed levels I've played on. My back garden looks just like the one you see at the start of the level as well. I couldn't go to the garage without being terrified for about a month. I don't know why, but the zombie stuck on the electric fence really freaked me out when I first saw it. It was up there about 5 feet off the ground, twitching as the electric fence ran the current through it. Saw blades with the gravity fun was satisfying though. Nothing like chopping a zombie in half with a saw blade-turned-frisbee. The worst part had to be when you got the shotgun. That really crazy priest gives you it, and you turn around to leave and WOOSH this zombie (a fast one) jumps right at your face. I screamed bloody murder the first time that happened. The end of that area was damned amazing as well. The maniac priest just shouting in glee as he mows down zombies, classic.

Did you even read the OP? Anyways I don't really see a baby in the overlaid picture. It is possible that he thought of it, but I doubt it.

what mmorpg should i try?
By your logic than diablo is also an MMORPG? I mean, there are thousands of players online at the same time, but they each get their own private copy of a map. edit: lets not muck up this thread, guild wars is/is not an MMORPG has been argued to many times in other places.

Bioshock
Do you have an intel 2 duo core processor? Only thing I'm missing from maximum reqs is I have a 256mb card and not a 512mb.

Bioshock

Bioshock
Its going to be amazing, I've kind of silently been following it. I'll be getting it for my PC, the first game which can test it. :D

Between 19 and about 29 you run into an odd mix where there isnt much content so you basically have to either group up to do quests, or grind. Its the most boring part of the game, but if you can get to lve 30 and still want to play, your good to go. I never recall a problem from 19-29 on my alliance toon. The real part that sucks is roughly 40-58. Yeah it is. I also only have 3 more armor pieces that are blue (Shoulder/chest/boots) and then 2 trinkets (1 if I'm in PvP) and a thrown weapon. Rest is all epics. :D
