  1. 1) I see videos of other players dungeoneering on the highest detail settings with little to no lag. How do they manage that, and can I try to recreate that? 2) How do I clear my laptop of dust? (I forgot to mention that I have a laptop, sorry). Is there a way to check its temperature somehow? Thanks for the prompt response.
  2. Hi. Before I ask my questions, please note that I know next to nothing about computers and how they work, so if you need me to provide any more information that might help you answer the following questions, please give me a brief step-by-step on how to do so. Much appreciated, thanks! 1) I'll start with my doorlag question. I use Chrome and play RS on all of the minimum settings in the smallest window possible, yet I still have doorlag while moving around in dungeons on almost all worlds at almost all times of the day (I notice that late at night, the lag seems to be better, but this isn't always the case). I'm from the northeastern USA, and I find that most nearby servers are laggy for me; I'm currently using a Norway server with a ping of 90-100 as it's the least-doorlaggy world I've found so far (I ping at around 35-38 on geographically closer servers, but the doorlag is nearly always worse). I updated my Java last week and run full virus scans regularly using Spybot and Malwarebytes. I keep my cache clean, as well. I've also tried using the RS client, but the doorlag is really the same. If it matters at all, I did a speedtest while writing this post to a server 50 miles away. Results: latency = 16 ms, download speed = 13.3 mb/s, upload speed = 9.2 mb/s. (I did one two hours ago and got 12 ms, 21.9 mb/s, and 16.9 mb/s, respectively. Can anyone explain the discrepancy?) I use a wireless connection, as well. 2) I think the following question may help answer at least parts of the first... About 30 minutes ago, my computer randomly shut off while I was in a dungeon. It just went black without saying anything at all, lagging, freezing up, nothing. I turned it back on and it asked me "Do you want to restart Windows normally?" to which I replied "yes," and after that, it seemed like a normal restart. This has happened to me four times in the past week, and I can't recall it happening ever before. (I haven't installed any new programs or downloaded anything in the past month, so I doubt it's a virus although I suppose it could still be one.) I realize that this is kind of a vague description, but there's not a whole lot I can explain apart from "it went off." I was told to check my event logs, so I did: (I don't really know what these are, but I scrolled to the date and time my computer shut off, and the event today appeared as an "Error." The other three times show up as "Critical." The logs show 1,112 errors in the past nine weeks... I'm not sure what this means, so can someone set me straight? Is this just a normal computer-checking-up-on-itself thing, or is there some other underlying issue here?) Anyway, if it matters, I believe all of my shutdowns occurred while I was dungeoneering. (The again, I dg for many hours a day, so I'm not sure how indicative of the source of the problem that fact is.) All of the shutdowns have occurred while using Chrome (I rarely use the client). If there's any more information I can provide, please let me know! I'm not doing to dungeoneer until this is fixed. ='(
  3. Yes, you should get one asap. They're immensely useful in gds, but people fail to realize this until they get into the habit of making them; most low-leveled players--those who do abds/occs most frequently--haven't come to this point yet. Thus you don't see them on lower floors as commonly as you do in warps. Once you do a boss with a team with ~four ragers, you'll see why they're worth the 15s it takes to make them. Also, I've noticed a lot of misused ragers recently. Just because you have one doesn't mean it's attacking things for you. Many people who are new to the land of making ragers should remember to call their ragers or tell them to attack new monsters as much as possible to maximize the ragers' benefit. People don't rush into gds because they're bad dungeoneers. I constantly have to bark at new players to get into rooms as I find myself (the keyer 90% of the time) to be the first into gds rather often. As for floor times vs. experience, I don't disagree with you. The trick is finding a happy balance between suiciding and safing. I. myself, don't like dying but will certainly do so if it's beneficial. (Wrath has amazing dps, you know!) Back to the altar discussion half a page ago: In short, only make an altar if you're actually idle. If we're one-wayed at barrels, yeah, you can go, but don't say "brb making altar" when there are four undone gds and your key(s) on the gt. I normally let people make altars if we're one-wayed by anything or if they can't help with a room (i.e., flowers, agility maze with no gd, etc.)

Gnome from 80-85+ (85-88 at Gnome is slightly better than Barbarian, too).
  5. 570ish at 13.1M Slayer experience (no Effigies used; Smoking Kills completed at around level 70). I would assume that going from 80-99 would be around 500 tasks these days, perhaps less.
  6. Congrats on your silver star, Bladewing! =)
  7. 1 - Most people who ask for "low occs" generally can't do any of the low occ bosses well. This makes them suck more than anything. With a good team, however, Grave and Runebound are manageable, whereas Trio and Necro are disliked by many. If you're 95 dging, just do all of your low occs as Flesh (still technically a low occ) or Tf floors. Teams are less likely to suck, and Flesh is practically the easiest boss imaginable. People are apt to avoid things they dislike; slow floors with bad bosses and multiple deaths fit snugly into this "do not want" category. 2 - Just ask a keyer hosting a warp how low they're willing to go. It's not terribly hard to find a low warp team. 3 - The fact that you're 95 dging and still assert that you suck at keying is a problem; better keyers make better dpsers, so you're hurting yourself twofold by having a lousy mindset. Do something about it! There's no way to improve if you don't try. No one will whine about a 35-minute floor if you tell them you're new and practicing keying, and it's not hard to find a halfway-decent wingman to help you out, either. That being said, there are plenty of 95+ dgers around who are still clueless about many basics... try not to become one, yourself.
  8. I realize that World 6 is sub-par for finding horn-filling teams. However, I remember that random teams there can do full 1-10 waves in about half an hour some months ago (is this still accurate?). Is it worth using these teams to fill my horn, or am I best off forgoing the horn altogether? Cheers.
  9. I'll just add that today was the slowest day in DGS that I've seen in weeks... don't be dissuaded by the fact that you couldn't find a team immediately. Also, as a new player, some keyers will not want you on their teams, so that does slow things down a bit, but the only way to become "established" is to do floors =p.
  10. I think you mean 8 Runecrafting, right?
  11. Ovl + Turmoil + Familiar + Ape Atoll Dungeon = 150k exp/hr. I did this with a lousy familiar (Swamp Titan or something, lol) at 96 Attack, Strength, and Defense, and managed over 150k exp/hr. I'm sure 160k exp/hr is possible with maxed stats and a decent Titan.
  12. Fantastic, thank you.
  13. I think I will duo them, then, as I can easily pay a friend 1m/hr to help me out. By "the xp is upwards of 150k an hour," do you mean the Fishing experience? Also, how long will it take to do 1-29 c2 duo with me fishing and a friend doing the dungeon? Lastly, I am planning to do my Fishing alongside normal Dungeoneering (as in, doing c2s with a friend while not doing DGS floors). I currently have a csb bound. Should I switch binds? If so, to what?
  14. What would I normally have to pay them? 500k/hr? Also, is it worth it to bind Cosmics if I'm not paying someone (they're essentially laws, and I do key enough to make them a reasonable choice)?
  15. So is it better for fishing and dungeoneering to do 1-29 c1 and then fish for two hours, OR do 1-29 c2 while fishing?
  16. Our_Moon posted a topic in Help and Advice
In short: Is it better for both fishing and dungeoneering to do 1-29 c1 and then fish for two hours, OR do 1-29 c2 while fishing? Does anyone have accurate experience rates on these methods, assuming 90 fishing?
  17. Thank you guys; greatly appreciated =).
  18. I'll just add that there are some rather capable non-ranked keyers, as well. Pretty much anyone who's willing to host a floor for you will key it in 30 minutes or less, unless the floor/team is uncooperative... or the keyer is extremely new.
  19. Hi there. I'm 85 Hunter and am curious as to which jadinkos, if any, I should pair with Draconics as I make my way to 99 Hunter. I have the Witchdoctor outfit, Scentless potions, and Zamorak's Favour potions. What kind of experience per hour will I be getting with these various methods? Is there a best spot to be using for them? (A picture would be great!) Thanks.
  20. Use the east part of the Herblore Habitat area, either just north or just south of the vine that separates the "north" part of HH from the "south" (the two are split by the farming area.)
  21. Runecrafting, Agility, whatever else needs maxing... It's irrelevant to the fact that Waterfiends are probably the best bet. Thanks for setting me straight =).
  22. The math is much appreciated; thanks. I believe Demons are around 80-85k Defence experience/hr, and Dragons are probably less than that. Did you include using an Iron Titan in your 236 kills/hr estimate? Also, you forgot to incorporate the experience gained from completing the Effigy (90k) in your calculations. There's no way I'd ever use an Effigy on Summoning, so again, your rates are slightly off, but hopefully the difference is negligible =p.
  23. Do you know what the exp/hr there is like for combat stats? Also, I lose Effigy drops by doing this... does anyone know if it edges out Black Dragons/Demons overall?
  24. I'm 96 Defence and 91 (have Charms for 95) Summoning. I want to get both to 99. What is the best way to go about doing this? The methods I'm considering are: 1) Cave Crawlers 2) Black Dragons 3) Black Demons 4) Slayer 5) Other?? The obvious advantage of Crawlers is the Effigy drop rate, but they wouldn't be great Defence experience and certainly poor Summoning experience without a Steel Titan... Black Dragons have a very good Effigy drop rate, but they offer less Defence/Summoning experience than Black Demons, which have a lower Effigy drop rate... Slayer will be slower everything, so I'm shying away from that because I'm already 99 Slayer. I guess a more concise question is: Black Dragons or Black Demons and why? Is there another method I should be considering? (I WON'T do Ape Atoll Dungeon/Rock Lobs; Black Dragons are at least 65% more efficient than those methods, and I believe--but am not sure that--Black Demons may be better.) Cheers!
  25. I don't value Magic experience or Strength, really. I'll get 99 from Dging soon enough. Is C2 fishing actually 100k exp per hour? (Also would it be too annoying not to have a csb for the duration of my time spent Fishing??)
