Everything posted by me

  1. There will be a MechScape Beta for RS members in the future.
  2. MechScape World was initially contacted on the 5th of Feb, don't know about you guys (not that it's a contest). Anyway, it's great to hear Jagex has reached out to tip.it.
  3. me

    Would u rather

Do you mean if RuneScape 2 wasn't already released and we were still on Classic, or do you mean RuneScape 3? Do you mean RuneScape 2 as it was on launch (no HD, less content) or as is? Whatever the answer I'd prefer MechScape. Would you rather Jagex spent more energy on customer support or developing RuneScape?
  4. No, I think they just wouldn't answer. For years they just wouldn't comment on if there was a MechScape but they never said there wasn't a MechScape.
  5. The concept of Mechs are nothing new - they feature in many games, manga, anime and toys.
  6. They effectively said it's ready when it's ready
  7. Add [email protected] on MSN or PM me if you have questions or use this thread. No need to fill up this thread.
  8. See http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=167285 for that old interview. There has been nothing else about it since (although for the Head of RuneScape vacancy they did say that "Knowledge or experience of developing products for multiple platforms, including mobile" was a plus).
  9. Sorry, I can't provide any proof. If you look at the site and the work I've done researching and the reputation I've built up by having the first MechScape fansite I hope you decide that I wouldn't jeopardise that by lying, but if you don't believe me then I totally understand. If content from the Jagex Q&A ends up on the RuneScape site would that be sufficient verification?
  10. They didn't just phone me up randomly, it was arranged first via e-mail. It's not like they have me on speed-dial, they just wanted to open up communications with MechScape World prior to the launch of the game.
  11. Well Jagex phoned me up to about MechScape World which is something which never happened under Iddison, so I'd say he's been doing well so far.
  12. After hearing virtually nothing during the Iddison era a few days after Gerhard became CEO they got in touch with me about MechScape World. Definitely seems like Jagex are moving in the right direction. It was an attempt at self-deprecating humour...
  13. It could be, but I think considering FunOrb is going for more "blockbuster" style games, that StellarDawn.com re-directs to FunOrb.com and that they have already announced that they are working on a sci-fi game for FunOrb that it could very well be for FunOrb.
  14. I respect a reasonable amount of scepticism. My motto is after all "Trust, but Verify". The Q&A is quite interesting, and I love the line that their motto for MechScape: "This is not RuneScape in space". I love RuneScape, but am so glad to hear that MechScape will try to differentiate itself in more than just genre.
  15. This line disturbs me... I can understand your scepticism, but read my research (with all its sources) and you should see I'm not just some joker. I set up the first MechScape fansite back in 2007 and have put many hours into it so why'd I want to risk my reputation by lying?
  16. Class 09: Downloadable telephone ring tones; downloadable screen-savers; downloadable wallpapers Class 16: Books; player's guides; instructional and teaching materials (except apparatus); printed publications; leaflets; brochures; posters Class 25: Articles of clothing; T-shirts; hats; caps Class 28: Toys, games and playthings; board games; playing cards Class 41: Entertainment services; electronic games services; provision of games by means of local computer networks, global computer networks, the internet, cable or wire communications services, wireless telecommunications services and broadband telecommunications services ...So the same as all their other games.
  17. They did say March at one point, but their latest statement was "Spring 2009" so there is no guarantee that MechScape will be released in March. Similarly, instead of MechScape it could be related to ThirdScape although that'd mean Jagex would have two space games (I assume one for the older demographic and one for the younger demographic).
  18. One of the current theories is that it is the upcoming sci-fi FunOrb game which they released a wallpaper for, which could potentially be related to MechScape in the same way Armies of Gielinor is related to RuneScape. At the moment everything is merely speculation however. As I revealed on MechScape World they have the trademark and the domain, but nothing more is known for certain.
  19. Rob Law (who made the Romeo and Juliet quest amongst other early contributions) once referred to Ian and Paul as part of Andrew's "team of brothers", but some old RuneScape fansites say Ian is his cousin. Ian did some early graphics for RuneScape and did some of the quest conversion for RuneScape 2.
  20. I just thought of another chart which people might find interesting - Jagex's yearly charitable donations as a percentage of their annual turnover:
  21. Can you provide a source for this? My understanding is that if you have >50% of voting power you have control, and that if all shares have equal voting rights a >50% stake would constitute an ultimate stake (meaning the Gowers brothers combined would represent the ultimate controlling party). I think the only exception is when some shares have greater voting rights than others, which is not the case with Jagex. To quote their 2006 filing, "The articles of Association were changed on 16 August 2005. The participating convertible preferred shares ranks pari passu with ordinary shares for all purposes. This includes entitlement to receive dividends, voting rights and return of capital".
