  1. You respawn at Soul Wars with your grave a few steps away.
  2. My firemaking level is 79, which I would consider to be somewhere between a low level and a high level. How often can I expect hand cannons to explode on me?
  3. That's very insulting. I suspect that very few people on these forums are "privileged" when it comes to Runescape. You had to have been around when rares were dropped to even have a chance at being privileged. Those of us who weren't worked hard (whether that be through combat, skilling, or even merchanting) to get where we are. Don't belittle the achievements of others because you were frustrated with a quest. FYI, I can't use extremes, yak, or soul split, so don't turn around and assume that I'm one of those players you dislike.
  4. I have to agree with Qeltar in that I highly doubt that Jagex would nerf Nomad after posting that they would not in the official FAQ. If they did, I'll be very disappointed, as I haven't had a chance to fight him again since the day of release. It's probably the case that Storm got lucky with his ruby(e) specs. I'll be posting my setup and methods when I beat him. I don't have soul split, extremes, or a yak.
  5. As the above poster said, I think Lucien was just toying with us. In Zemouregal's notes, he mentions that Khazard is the youngest Mahjarrat on Gielinor, which, to me, implies that he's a lot weaker than the others, with maybe the exception of Jhallan.
  6. Our combat stats are almost identical, and I'm gonna be using the same equipment. Thanks for giving me hope.
  7. Why is it unfair in duels? If your opponent chooses not to use a combat style, that's their problem, is it not? I'm not gonna complain about a guy barraging me if I didn't come prepared for it.
  8. Yea, the first time we fought Lucien he was terrible. But the most recent time he could easily kill 2-3 level 197s at a time instantly. Lucien will be harder than Nomad, it's only a matter of time. But I don't think a tougher fight will be released this year. You may be right, but I really hope you're wrong. Nomad sets a new precedent for future bosses and quest monsters. I'd really love to see what comes out next.
  9. I think it was intentional. It's there to remind you to keep calm, which I didn't do my first round against Nomad. When he started charging, I ran away... across the mine field. :-D
  10. Congratulations to your friend for getting a champion scroll. Oh, and nice experience. :P
  11. *Spoilers for recent quest updates* Wait. What? Plothole? Blood Runs Deep was one giant plot-hole. Nomad's Requiem isn't even close to being broken. The Nomad's paranoid. He's proud. He's strong. The entire quest is about you trying to find out what he's up to, because of either your curiosity, or the imp's, and accidentally provoking the Nomad into fighting you. In fact, your character specifically says "I think I'll go now..." at the end of the conversation, and the Nomad chooses to attack you. Now let's see. Blood Runs Deep forces you to slowly escort a broken king from waterbirth. The prequel quest clearly shows Vargas in danger of becoming a Yeti's chew-toy, and being rescued by a spell, one that Baba Yaga points out post-quest, is in your repertoire. So, instead of smartly employing a tele-other or tele-group sell, you *walk* with the King out? No explanation given. NPCs are obviously familiar with teleport magic. They can obviously *be* teleported. They've gone as far as to give the player teleport tabs. And all of a sudden, it's as if they don't exist anymore? Fine. You go after the Dagannoth Mother. Fine. They send help... wait, why? I (my character) can take on the three Dagannoth Kings blindfolded with my arm tied behind my back. Three. I need help against one Dagannoth Mother, when I'm fully decked out and ready for the worst? The Dagannoth Kings are coming. Okay. Baba Yaga, who you can hardly call trustworthy after Glorious Memories, and her "unique" way of sending you back to Waterbirth (liberating one of your important possessions), Koschei the Deathless, who I took out barehanded 40 combat levels ago, Princess Astrid who was proud to receive a NON-MAGIC ordinary bow, and Prince Brand who really doesn't seem too much more competent are going to try to stop the Kings? Really? Nomad's Requiem isn't nearly as plot-hole ridden as Blood Runs Deep. It doesn't have any major plot-holes at all, as far as I can tell. Unless you count the fact that you can't use the Ring of Charos to charm the Nomad into calming down, but as I recall, the Ring of Charos isn't all-powerful. I agree with this 100%. All of the people complaining about the lack of plot are either illiterate or trolling. Saying that the entire quest was an imp telling you to kill a bad guy is daft and shows that you are not paying attention during quests.
  12. When I read Zemouregal's notes, I got the impression that Zemouregal wasn't scared of Lucien at all. I don't know if that's out of ignorance or not, but it may also imply that Zemouregal is extremely powerful himself. I think there's definitely a possibility that Bilrach is Nomad, and it would seem to me that Bilrach has since risen above average power for his kind.
  13. That cape is much better than a fire cape in many situations, including just about every situation where you need to protect pray constantly, or even if you're using piety/turmoil constantly.
  14. Your MTK stockpile is awesome. Congratulations on the level, too. Cooking may be easy, but it has potential to be very useful.
  15. Question: Did you read the quest dialogue at all? I'm gonna guess no, because it's a lot more than just "LOLKILLNOMAD."
  16. Have I not spent enough time arguing with you over the definition of a GM quest? Storm is angry because he can't complete this quest with his touchpad. If he had a mouse, he would've beaten Nomad (especially with his stats) and would be singing a very different tune. I find it incredibly amusing that you and Storm feel the need to refer to my criticisms as flaming, as it shows that you'd rather belittle my arguments than confront them.
  17. That's like saying that I use dial-up internet, therefore all combat situations should be nerfed to suit my internet connection. BUY A USB MOUSE. And, FYI, you don't need to be maxed combat with soul split to beat Nomad. Read through the last few pages of this thread. There are numerous posts by players explaining that YOU DON'T NEED TO TANK NOMAD. People are so used to standing there in front of monsters that they don't even try to avoid attacks. If you've ever solo'd - or even teamed - Saradomin GWD, you know what I'm talking about. It sounds like you're frustrated because of your laptop rather than because of the quest.
  18. No we consider it that because we were told they were going to be awesome and special. And they aren't doing that. Jagex promised us mammoths a few years ago! I want my mammoths! Just because they have a idea doesn't mean Jagex will stick to it, to be honest, I would be very, VERY surprised if any game ever made was exactly like the creators had in mind when they finished developing it  Yes but this has nothing to do with issues involving creating something. They simply told us one thing and did another. They could've done this easily enough, same battle mechanics, same fight, just not as hard and made it Master, or they could've made the quest be longer, have more of a story and keep Nomad as he is. The way it was done I think isn't right. Let us know how you fare against Nomad, then talk. EDIT: Can I assume you're using a guide? Always complaining about things but never doing them the way they were intended, eh Libs?
  19. Wow, you must be an idiot. If you want an all round shield, use the Fremennik or Mind Shield. They're very circular. :P ~Sirus I lol'd.
  20. I'm not exactly sure, but either late 2001 or early 2002. I was in sixth grade.
  21. I like the people in this thread who argue that marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, but admit that it's not.
  22. For all around team boss hunting, you want a Spectral. A godsword is best in team Bandos, Zamorak, or Saradomin. A Spectral is best at Armadyl. A spirit shield isn't needed at all at TDs, and a Spectral would be helpful, though not necessary, at DKs. Spirit Shields aren't the best options for every situation. You should get a Spectral. And spirit shields are DEFINITELY not useful for CB.
  23. Even though I beat him on my first try, he was most definitely not easy. There is no other quest boss fight like this. I was cavalier with my brew/restore ratio, so I nearly ran out of restores at the end. In addition, there were two instances where I was almost KOed once he started doing the 2x melee berserk. My biggest piece of advice is to take cover when he lays mines. Too many people tank his 75 damage attack, and as a result they struggle to beat him before they run out of brews. I'm definitely going to try the pillar thing. Tomorrow, of course. I've died four too many times today. <_<
  24. Yeah, kind of like how the Ardougne Cape made the fire cape obsolete for Corp, and Godswords made the whip obsolete for most boss hunting. Maybe we should just take out everything past rune armor and we can all have fun!
  25. This thread on the RSOF proves the Divine to be superior to the Elysian. 17-18-724-58871816 However, it really depends on what you're doing. If you're soloing, you want a Divine. If you're doing DK's, like Joe said, you probably want an Arcane. If you're doing team Armadyl, you want a Spectral. As you can see, we need a little more information.
