  3. STORY TIME (not a very interesting one, honestly). Alright, a little back-story: two weeks ago this girl (Ashley) that I've known since I was fourteen IM'd me on Facebook and suggested that we hang out, but it'd have to wait till she got back from Italy (she was leaving the next day). This girl has had a boyfriend for around two years now, and her and I have always had somewhat of a platonic relationship. We've never been single at the same time, so I've never had a chance to ask her out or anything, which is a shame 'cause she's a lot of fun and very pretty. Fast-forward two weeks: She texts me yesterday morning and asks if I want to go out in a few hours, so I say yes, throw some clothes on, etc. We met at this little sandwich/coffee shop near my house, ordered, sat down, and she promptly informed me that she broke up with her boyfriend a little over two weeks ago (read: days before she asked me to hang out). She told me about problems she had with him, and I told her a little about my ridiculous love life. We talked nonstop for a couple hours, which is pretty impressive -- most girls I go out with aren't nearly that interesting. Then again, this is a girl I've known since we were kids, so I'm totally comfortable around her. After lunch, we walked over to my truck where I had conveniently placed my guitar. I played a couple songs for her (she's a singer and has a thing for guitarists). She asked me what kind of music I listen to, so we sat in my truck and I showed her one of my favorite bands (Animals As Leaders -- instrumental progressive electronica fusion metal). I decided to start the obvious flirting, so I complained about the sun shining on me (which it was), and moved over to the middle seat -- right next to her. As soon as I moved, I looked at her and said "wow, that was smooth," which she laughed at. So far so good. We started talking some more, and I mentioned how amusing it was that her and I had never gone out before this, and she seemed to think that it was amusing, too. A little while later she had to leave, but she said that we should definitely go out again this weekend. I'm a little wary of Ashley. All of her close friends are guys who are in love with her, but totally friend-zoned. I'm not sure if she's doing the same thing to me -- sort of being flirty, but not actually interested. We'll see. I'll know by the second "date." Immediately after parting ways with Ashley, I drove down to a different sandwich/coffee shop to meet Kayla. She was already at a table. She got up, we hugged, we sat back down, and the small talk began. "How are you?" "What have you been up to?" etc. I decided to get serious and I told her what Charlotte had relayed to me at the pool hall. Kayla denied saying any of it. Expected. We started talking about things and she told me that part of the reason she felt weird around me was because I was so aggressive (which I was). She basically wanted to act like friends when we weren't hooking up. Jane is the exact same way. They're both Libras, interestingly enough (yes, I'm a fan of astrology). She said that because I was so aggressive, she felt that I was pushing for a relationship. I literally laughed when she said it, and I told her that I knew from the get-go that nothing was ever going to happen between us. She also mentioned that she told her ex-boyfriend about me, and he pretty much flipped out (understandable, lol). I guess they're still hanging out and kinda seeing each other, but they're not together and she has no plans to get back together with him anytime soon. She also said that she wants to hang out with me occasionally, but she's really worried about the possibility of me showing up a party that her ex is at, 'cause I guess he'd try to kill me, lol. I'm pretty fit and I know how to fight, but this guy is a firefighter, so I get the feeling he's probably tougher than me. I have no doubt that he'd probably wreck me in a fight, lol, but I doubt that'll ever happen. Knock on wood. Overall, it was a pretty therapeutic conversation. It felt like "closure," in a way, though that's a very strong word for a week-long fling. I'm 99% positive that we'll never hook up again. But, as is the tradition, we'll see. :shades:
  4. There's not a single person on my FL that I would betray for a partyhat. I'm just as close to many of my Runescape friends as I am to my IRL friends. There's no difference to me. There's a couple people that I would let borrow any item they wanted, too.
  5. For slayer and general use, CR should be the first chaotic you buy and CLS should be the last (yes, it has even less use than the staff). For picking up girls, CLS is best. It's your choice.
  6. Ninja'd hardcore. At the beginning of the floor, Cheeesy found a spider and pretended to get a hood, and I was freaking out until he said jk... and later on he actually got one L. I didn't believe him at first. I'm so [bleep]ing happy. Love you Cheeesy and Mc <333
  7. trolololololololololololol DO IT LOL
  8. I really didn't start to enjoy the skill till around level 80, and it seems to be that way for most people. With friends and using Skype, it's amazingly fun, IMO.
  9. I got my headset at Best Buy for $19. ;) It's not too bad. It only started to get uncomfortable around the sixth hour of playing, L. STORY TIME update later, though it's not particularly interesting. Don't feel like typing it up right now. I just did four or five floors with Grimy Bunyip, Rocked, The Ancient, and Trey. We were all on Skype. I have TONS to learn, but I'm stoked to DG now. I also got level 87 (I should start taking screenies).
  10. i crashed losing games at tds the other day and got him killed. i should've waited a few days. free void and cmaul pl0x
  11. Wow. I just dg'd for like seven hours straight or something (longer maybe?) with Trey, Rocked, Enaid, Chicken, and some randoms. First floor it was me, Rocked, and Trey, and we were kickin' it on skype (dging with skype is so much more fun). Then Rocked left and Enaid and Chicken joined Trey and I for the rest of the night. It's now 6:35am. LOL so much fun. I was in tears I was laughing so hard. I'm 26k from 87 dging. COOL.
  12. I just bought a headset, so now I can Skype with all y'all [bleep]es. Obtaurian's Talk Time Show, on the OBT - Network. Channel 99 if you have cable. (AKA STORY TIME.) I texted Kayla tonight. We're going out for coffee tomorrow night. A little while after we made the plans, she texted me asking why I want to go out, and I just said that I missed hanging out with her and that I wanted to see her. Her reply - "as friends?" I said yes. I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if she straight-up cancelled on me. I'm going to have to play it real cool. During our fling, I was very aggressive and everything was sexual, so I'm going to be the opposite. I need to gauge whether or not she really just wants to be friends. We'll see what happens. @Enaid - I've always liked the idea of increasing the amount of LP per constitution level. I think that would be a good fix. I also think that giving the defense skill an inherent soaking ability would fix tons of problems. @Lowc - FSC is rowdy at times (honestly, Kota is the only real troll, but I love him anyway), but it's a great clan chat. The gens are great and everyone there is hilarious. I love FSC. @Gwasha - SPEAKING OF FSC GENERALS, HI GWASHA. @Saru - I love you. @Mstr - gratz son I thought you were already 99 constitution but I WAS WRONG.
  13. omg so many replies and I have a short STORY TIME update but i'm busy right now. will reply later dudes and dudette.
  14. Ah man, that sucks. :/ I shall keep you in my thoughts, and especially my heart. No homo.
  15. all earned in one day ofc. he woke up, no lifed 15 hours (hence bank), restocked on hot pockets/redbull, and no lifed another 15 hours. in soviet runescape, 31 hour days are possible if you're hardcore enuff.
  16. Two things: 1) Where the [bleep] have you been? 2) WHY U NO TALK TO ME NO MORE?!
  17. YES! Finally getting 99 slayer and summoning?! I'm on the fence when it comes to extremes in the new wilderness. When they first came out, I was a vehement (yeah, vehement is a good word) proponent of extremes in PVP, but it's undeniably true that offense is far easier to obtain and use than defense of the same caliber (eg: dragon claws versus divine or torva). Damage soak doesn't help enough and damage reduction and constitution-boosting gear are far too exclusive to be considered viable options in mainstream PVP. Any clown can buy dragon claws (or worse, Korasi's sword), but the same does not hold true for divines and torva. HOWEVER, I'm definitely not well-versed in PVP, so I don't really feel that I can provide useful input, which is why I haven't been posting in that thread. In my uneducated opinion, introducing extremes wouldn't break PVP, but it shouldn't be treated lackadaisically, either. If and when constitution-boosting armor becomes more readily available (and not just level 80 armors), I'd say that would be a good time to introduce extremes (but not overloads or spec restores) to the wilderness.
  18. OMFG if I was home I would've been online and I would've been there. :( We'll definitely Skype it up. Crik and Jax are gonna be calling me all [bleep]ing day every day L.
  19. I ended up staying awake for a grand total of 40 hours. YES! I was talking to Jane all last night, which was pretty interesting. She just got her wisdom teeth removed, so she was hopped up on painkillers and being just as loopy and weird as I was. I didn't talk to Kayla at all, but I'm gonna text her later and see what might come of that. It's scary -- Jane and I are a lot alike. We both sort of "use" the opposite sex and see multiple people at the same time. I know of at least two other guys that she spends a lot of time with, though I'm 100% sure she hasn't slept with either of them (though she might sleep with one of them soon). At first I was put off by it 'cause I don't like the idea of hooking up with a girl right after she's probably hooked up with someone else, but whatever. It's a lot easier to spend time with her and talk to her these days, which I imagine is because I've completely written her off as a [bleep]buddy and nothing more, so I don't hold back around her -- I'm an arrogant, pretentious [bleep]. She loves it. FML I'm still kinda tired. I'm gonna be busy pretty much all day, so no 'Scape till tonight, I imagine. BUT, I think I'm gonna pick up a headset later (Enaid, Grimy, I'm looking at you).
  20. Double post . . . you probably had something to do with it.
  21. I'm now monitoring your blog. CHECK YOSELF BEFO YOU WRECK YOSELF, GIRL.
  22. I tend to be a little more brash online, but that's about the only difference. I'm very argumentative and condescending in person, but I make more of an effort to be nice, so to speak. I don't really hold myself back in the same way online. Other than that, it's nice that I can use my blog as an actual blog on TIF. I can't do that with any other blogging medium because I don't like when my IRL friends (other than my very best friends) read about it, but the input of total strangers isn't really appealing, either. On TIF I have a lot of friends who enjoy reading my stories and who have no connections to my IRL friends, so it lets me be very open with what I say. It's very therapeutic, actually. EDIT: In regards to internet personas, I really do feel like my name is Obtaurian. I am Obtaurian. That's who I am. I hate my original RSN, and I cycled through a few names before I found this one, and I would never, ever change it. It's perfect.
