  1. The system reqs for playing RS are completely independent of the size of the world map. After all, only a fraction of the world map is used at any time (hence the "loading - please wait" message you get when you move a significant distance). Exactly. The requirements are pretty low considering the content anyways. Not to mention they have it actively loading now too so you rarely get the "loading - please wait" message now. Sailing update: I have modified a few pictures currently and am in the process of making a skill interface (its coming along nicely). My report of it being out in a few days now seems rather optimistic, it may well be next week before i relase it. But i hope to have it finished by the weekend.
  2. Not really cosmic's are better once you hit 59 (Astrals when you hit 82), as its much easier to access and requires very little consideration of your gear. I agree the law tali never did fit in with the Troll Stronghold quest, but removing the quest requirement all together wasn't the best idea. Why not change the requirement to Monks Friend, Priest in Peril, Clock Tower or one of the other monk related quests. All are pretty simple, but still require effort. As your helping a monk it would seem a lot more relevant too. O and laws were never really sold at 300 or less before the GE. The lowest you could bulk buy (I'm talking 1k plus) was about 350 (slightly lower if you got lucky). The average was about 400-500 for 20 to 1k and less then 20 was about 1k each. The real RC killer was the pure essence addition, it killed the profit you could get massively (I remember buying ess for 30 to 40gp each, RC'ing then selling the nats for 320 each, a 8x profit). I personally remember buying about 200 laws (i was like level 25 at the time) for 300 each when i was still f2p. And really after that i never bought laws again like that, but i sold them at 300 when i could craft them, everybody was. I have no idea where you got your numbers from unless your talking the month before GE release or something.
  3. Rofl at prayer skillz. Thanks for the encouragement. And does anybody know what font Jagex uses by chance? And by the way, i will be watermarking EVERYTHING so nobody can spread fake hype about sailing.
  4. You assume that the only aspect of Sailing is transportation from point A to point B. Whether you want to deny it or not, that is lack of imagination. That's the same as saying, "L0l Prayer?! Who wants a skill where you sit in church on your butt all day?!roflmayo" Agreed, if they released the skill it'd be a whole new continent IMO a region of islands so you wont be able to PAY X gp to get there Tell you guys what. All these "OMG SAILING IS FAILING" people have got me going. I will spend the next few days working on an in depth view of what sailing could really be like. I will include levels, abilites, new locations, etc. I will go full out. I will post it here when done.
  5. The first point you made in this thread was laws being no quest = lesser value. Which is absolutely wrong, people were law running A LOT more before the rwt updates. And since law running would become impossible because of the updates they had to give people access to inside the altar to use the assist system. (Really its the same thing, you didn't do the quest, you can craft laws, the only change is you can go inside the altar) [/thread]
  6. I lol'd, and hey if he did that for alching he could get away with it! just needs to sit and edge and talk, lol, just need to slow down the rpm
  7. sailing is no more ridiculous than setting logs on fire or killing a certain monster
  8. Higher levels would have the ability to build bigger, sturdier boats that could sail to new islands that may even have a new monster with a rare drop, or even something like rare trees, a good training spot, its virtually unlimited what i could bring.
  9. You know, don't let sailing hold you back, QUIT NOW!!! Seriously, read just one of my posts and you can see the potential for sailing. But i'm serious, go quit, right now, runescape will be much better without provincial idiots like you.
  10. Well this is my first post of a snipe. Gotcha Den! Oh i got crycry also:
  11. I've already said, the reason was so that people could craft laws with the assist system. What reason is there to change it back? in that case, make bloods and deaths able to be assisted -.- You don't need to to five (ten combined) to be able to get to the law altar, you do for death and blood.
  12. To even get within ICBM range of the blood altar you need to do about four quests. I could make a lvl three account, get membership and in twenty minutes be dancing next to the law altar entrance. And its de-quested, get over it, they are not gonna change it back now, just like they are never gonna get rid of pure essence. A change of this magnitude cannot, will not be undone. if its that easy to do the quest, then it wouldnt make that much of a difference, just the people would just do the quest. im saying it limits the amount of people that can craft them. if they dont do the quest, their fault. if it was perfect before quest was taken out, y the change? Because of trade limits. Before you could run law runes to your hearts content. You give them 27 ess, the crafters gave you 27 laws and 27 noted ess. And this was outside the altar. But with trade limits that would quickly become impossible and law running was very very very very popular, especially with lower levels, pures, and quest haters. Now you have to be within sixteen spaces for the assist system to work, so people had to be able to get into altar. And don't give that BS that making it a non-quest reward has made laws bottom out, if anything less people have been making laws since trade limits because you have to supply your own ess.

  14. This happened when using NPC contact spell, and i have quest cape.
  15. Only put the part after the "=" sign in the youtube tags to make it work.
  16. You are a complete and utter idiot if you can't acknowledge there is at least some possibility that the wording was intentional. Everyone knows Jagex loves to just hint and poke at things that are coming. And one of the most cryptic clues you can leave is a somewhat commonly used phrase that could have a deeper meaning. And your also and idiot for saying just because someone faked a picture it isn't real. You can say the same thing about big foot or crop circles. But until you work for Jagex and are in on everything that is happening. You can not say there is not a sailing skill. And your a complete fool for saying you will quit if Sailing does come out, for all you know it could have some little tid bit that could just make you drool its so good. God i've met Jesus-Freaks that are less narrow minded than you anti-sailing people. Big Foot and Crop circles are fake, that's the key. All evidence to both has been discounted and revealed as false and impossible every time. I can say there isn't a sailing skill in Runescape, because there isn't. What the logical community will not allow is people like yourself who throw the subject into a manner in which you cannot possibly lose the argument until Runescape shuts down. Until the day Runescape shuts down, you will continue to claim that it is on its way, and will never accept that you were wrong in your speculation. Do not bring Construction into this; Construction was on the skill list for a year. Do not bring Summoning into this; Summoning had the life rune, and was announced in March 2004. Do not bring hunter into this. Hunter was actively hinted at in-game with the large amount of new animals Jagex added to the landscape before its release Do not bring farming or Slayer into this. Just because those two skills were not hinted at or expected, does not mean that every skill nobody has ever expected will be coming to Runescape. The idea of Sailing sounds fun. Leveling up and building myself a big boat through which I can traverse the open seas, fishing and cooking my catches, fighting sea monsters, and finding new areas, battling sea monsters, finding brand new items for various skills (New herbs, new ore, new plants, etc). I can not, however, discount that there is no evidence for Sailing. I'm not saying that those who believe in Sailing are idiots, or that it's never coming out. I'm just saying; don't get your hopes up. Don't go wild whenever Jagex releases what might be a cryptic hint, and don't be disappointed whenever they don't come through. Do you remember when you were a kid around Christmas and you were absolutely sure you were getting a certain toy or game? You pestered your parents for it so much it must be chiseled into their forehead, and the way they said "We'll see what Santa brings" with that smile on their face practically gave it away. Then Christmas comes, and there's no Gameboy Pocket underneath the tree. DAMN YOU SANT- :-# I'm rambling. I'm just saying, healthy speculation is fine, but this whole debate is getting incredibly out of control, I feel like I'm witnessing two fanatic groups trying to kill one another over Runescape. Oh and: Jesus freaks have a book to go off of that isn't in the fiction section. That does give them a slightly bigger edge of believability than Sailing. Not much, but slightly higher. 1. Don't even get me started on Big foot, crop circles i'm iffy on, but i could write a damn college paper on big foot(s). And i agree with you about the fanatic groups killing each other. I'm just on the side of sailing just because, it is plausible and the large ammount of people that are all "OMFG SAILING IS THE ANTI-CHRIST OMFG".
  17. Hmm so everyone on earth has 16 email accounts? Or multiple per account.. Wow that's hard to believe. :P Not quite, since many many MANY people easily recieve over 100 spam mails per account per day. I myself get around twenty a day, and i know my mom gets well over a hundred a day. And i also have various other emails i rarely use except on rare occasions and those get plenty of junk mail too.

  19. All fo those things sound real nice when you are TALKING about them, but they would be much more complicated to actaully implement. Yeha, they are hard and complicated to impliment, but thats exactly why we are playing a game designed by a multi-million dollar company!!!!
  20. I concur that quoted post is indeed stupid. And in fact i just happen to have a game on computer (Tradewinds: Legends) where at one point in the game you can have a flying boat. Its not really that far fetched of an idea, in the game your boat just has a giant bag of gas/hot air over it secured by a net like thing. Hell, we could get a quest that would allow us to make flying ships if we have a certain level in sailing and completed that one hot air ballon quest (forget its name atm). And can you imagine the possibilites of a flying ship in a realm of magic? There could be open portals to other dimensions you can fly through, mystical high flying creatures you could capture with the hunter skill or kill to get charms of that monster to summon a spirit familiar of it. Hell if they could make a ship fly in game there could be even flying cities that grow special types of herbs or wood, maybe even unique ore. If people would stop being so provincial they could see sailing has unlimited potential. (also i accredit the inspiration for some of these ideas to: Tradewinds: Legends, (books): The Golden Compass series, and The Airborne series)
  21. Yeah, especially in stealing creation with the barriers up around the resource. Familiar can't spawn at all.
  22. In what part of having the flag of the place to live is biased? and what am I being biased about exactly?? Non of my argument was biased at all, I do like America and plan to move there I've just resently come back from staying there with my best friend over xmas. All I did was correct people miss presumptions, & try to educate people in real history which seems to be poorly taught to the kids of America. At the moment America may be the worlds super power, but because of what? Who convinced the American government to start the CIA? Who sends there troops to the UK to learn because we have the best trained army in the world? (Not to be confused with the best Equipped which is the US), In fact 12 members of my family are in America/ the Middle east right now training the US army and working and dying alongside US troops.. so yeah you think we hate Americans and America? At the whim of a call from the US, we are there to back you as you did in WW2, Falklands War. name a war on foreign soil where the British have not backed the US. The UK and US are and always will be close allies we get to much out of each other to not be, and to even think that the majority of the British don't like Americans is dumb because more then any other nation in the world we are the closest allies. And almost all British people like Americans, I don't speak for the European nations because they hate the UK as much as they hate the US.. its envy is all they envy the alliance and the fact the UK & US are a world super power of the on our own.. how many wars have we been in together that Europe didn't want us to start? just remember the UK is a part of Europe and in the EU but when people say Europeans it don't count the UK, we are British and will never be Europeans. And Yea CNN.. don't work still comes up as stars :) It's refreshing to see someone from the UK post something like this, because in all honesty I thought the UK hated the US along with all the other european countries, (but if you don't consider yourself european I guess your not :o) You have to understand the media (yeah I know this sounds like a lame excuse, but it's true) tells a very different story from what you've said. From our point of view everyone hates us for what reason I'm not sure... Iraqi war might have something to do with it? I'm no foreign policy expert so I won't really delve into that. On a side note I thought that Great Britain adopted the Euro along with the european nations, or am I a blathering idiot? :P Kilo is right. The media here is amazingly good at spinning stories into nothing but hate for some group or another (contrary to popular belief Bush is actually quite intelligent for example). It also does not help that every other thread on an international forum board seems to be an American bashing one, and after eight years of it i can tell you most of us are pretty pissed off about it, so sorry for the outlash from us Americans, its just because of mis-information and anger issues we are automatically defensive about anybody saying anything about America. And yes Kilo i'm pretty sure the UK did adop the Euro also, but they still use Pound-Sterling also.
  23. I Rofl'd at that. But I don't see the point of unfiltering these words if you can just be reported for saying them. Unless... They want people to say them, be reported, and get banned to weed out players they deem unrefined and rude! I lol'd irl at that also, must remember to mention that to my ex-girlfriend. I actually thought of that, really a benefit of the uncensoring is the idiots who abuse the words are more likely to get caught, reported and muted. So really, this entire thing is win-win.
  24. I agree. I really like what they did with this update, i estimate it will be a 90% for to 10% against update among players. I'm really glad Jagex has taken the first step at putting distance between themselves and the kiddy pool.
