  1. This is certainly not the only impracticality that exists in RuneScape. Here are some common ones -your character can eat an entire shark and monkfish in one bite, but it takes two for a pizza, three for a cake. -you can carry 5000 cannonballs in your backpack at once. Even with that much, it still weighs 0kg. It's all just a game in the end. :)

  4. Hey guys, As you probably already know, Jagex has released a new herblore-themed activity earlier on November 24th http://services.runescape.com/m=news/herblore-habitat We are pleased to let you guys in on a syndicated interview Jagex has offered to run for all Platinum and Gold support level fansites. Unique questions will be chosen from the pool of questions sent in from each fansite and they will be answered by Jagex staff who worked on this RuneScape content. Questions need to be focused only on the Herblore Habitat update, as it is developers from that part of the new content who will be responding to your questions. If you are interested in participating, please post your question for Jagex here before Friday morning (GMT), which is when these questions will be submitted to Jagex. Once this topic is locked, no more questions can be accepted. As an added bonus, Jagex has also provided a little more concept art for our Jagex Page. They can be viewed under batch five with the exclusive image being the one on the top. Let the questions roll!

Temperature hovering around -30C here... -40C/F with the windchill. Kinda cold.
  6. It's not much different than posting on a forum with the possibility of your posts being removed, is it? Just by following the same rules you observe when you post here, you'll skate by 99% of any chance of trouble. I was the one who requested a private forum. IRC people aren't monitored by other admins, I was banned because someone didnt' like me. I don't understand what you're saying. Official chats that are kept open by staff will never remove and restrict people for no good reason - the same way moderators on the forums do not remove users they don't like. That is not how it works. If anything, this is more of a problem with private channels where the rules are enforced by whoever owns the channel and thus consistency and fairness are not guaranteed. I think you're not realizing that "official" chats are extremely laid back. If you've ever been in #runescape it is doubtful you've seen anyone get banned out of the room aside from the odd scammer/advertiser that shows up and if you have it hardly ever happens. Again, we don't mind if you guys want to run your own channels - I think it is great that you guys are doing that. I just don't want you to have the wrong impression of what an official chat is. Personally I see it as a good place to direct new comers that want to get involved in the Tavern, but it is only valuable as that kind of tool if regular attendees of the Tavern are present.
  7. You can personally PM me things you feel are wrong with the times.
  8. Posts were removed from this week's topic prior to mine. I agree this week wasn't that bad, but it addresses not only the removed posts but also the situations that were worse in other weeks. Regardless, this will put an end to the nonsense that tends to happen most weeks.
  9. So I think this entire situation is getting stale. Every week these topics turn into some big flame war which takes away from the actual discussion that should be had here: the content of the articles this week. Effective immediately, the following policy is put into place on Times Discussion topics. Rampant flame wars have taken control of virtually every week's times discussion topics. The following guidelines must be followed when posting on this topic. Posts that ignore these guidelines will be removed. 1. You are invited and welcome to express like or dislike on articles and a particular author's writing style. It is not acceptable, however, to flame or personally insult an author. Posts that aren't anything but an attack will be removed from the topic. 2. Spelling and grammar errors can be reported to Racheya by PMing her and they will be fixed promptly. It is not necessary to post them on the discussion topic. 3. Off topic posts that do not discuss the content of that week's articles will be removed. This is not the place to discuss the direction of the times, how much you love or hate the times, etc. Off topic posts will be removed. By keeping within these guidelines, Times discussion topics will mean more for the Panel and Administration than just a place for flame wars. Flame wars do not provide any useful feedback to the Times, which is mainly what we're aiming for with these topics: feedback. This policy is effective as of this post, November 17, 2010. Any posts prior to the creation of this policy may or may not be removed according to the new guidelines. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. Cowman_133 Tip.It Administrator
  10. It appears there's no interest in using this channel, which is perfectly fine with me. I won't continue to idle in it. I know you have other games running on the server and if you prefer using those over one main channel, that works for me.

  12. Ugh, been there, done that. :P VERY annoying at times. WOOOO CSS!!!!!
  13. Just a reminder: It is important to only debate opinions and not personally attack the people behind them as a few posts have done on this topic, and have now been removed. Please remain respectful to everybody no matter mow much you disagree. Cheers. Cowman_133 Administrator
  14. Hey if you haven't been in touch with an administrator yet, you can also use this form to submit your query. http://forum.tip.it/account_problem.php DK
  15. Another idea was to have it load and pop up only when you hovered over it.
  16. Definitely something to consider - we like this idea and we'll see what we can do while also not skyrocketing page loading times. :) DK
  17. The Crew Wants You! Applications are now closed. Thanks to everybody who applied - it was fantastic to see energetic users wanting to be part of the team! :) Here is a brief list of Questions we thought you would like answered: Who read my application? Crew and Administrators How long until I find out if I was accepted or declined? You should hear back from us within one week from November 20. If you don't get anything after a week, please PM me. Will there be a list of those declined? This information is confidential and will be kept between us and the applicant. If the applicant wishes to tell people they were declined, that is up to them. Can I check in on my application? No, but you should hear back from us within a week. Will I be contacted if you declined or accepted my application? Yes. A pm will be sent to those declined and those accepted. If I am not accepted, is this the last chance I had to join the Crew? No. All applications will be kept on file for when a need for new Crew arises. As always, we also continue to look for people we would like to see join our team through our normal selection progress which happens within the Crew. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me. :) [hide]Tip.It's Website Crew is currently looking for volunteers to join the team! Tip.It's Website Crew is the team of volunteers dedicated to the upkeep of the main help-site. If you've ever had an interest in being a part of it all or think you have any skills that could make the site even better, you're looking in the right place! The Crew has many available positions each requiring very different skills and interests. More information on the various positions in a moment. Before applying, you should know a little bit about how the Crew runs. It is important to not glamor a position up, as one may find the Crew was not how they expected it would be when they applied. First off, Tip.It is not a for-profit organization - All staff positions here are fully volunteer positions. Those putting their time into the site are working purely for the bettering of Tip.It. If accepted, you will be required to make somewhat of a commitment to put enough time into your position and ingame research. Crew Training and Crew Work requires time to accomplish and without this commitment, you will not be able to meet deadlines and work as a team. Secondly, web design, coding or mapping skills are an asset, but will not stop us from welcoming you aboard. Our only request is you have a willing attitude to learn whatever interests you. Being a good student will help you throughout your entire Crew career. Both the Staff and Crew are very close teams and you will have the opportunity to meet and work with all existing staff to help better this site. Overall, the Crew is definitely a worthy investment of time. Those who enjoy close communities and view the site as their hobby often have a very fun time being on Crew. Positions Here is a look at some of the positions waiting to be filled within the Crew. Still interested? Excellent! To apply, you will need to fill out the following application and PM it to Staff_Applications. Please make Crew Application: <your name here> the PM subject for sorting purposes. Remember: PM your application to Staff_Applications - do not post it on this topic! Put Crew Application: <your name here> as the Subject Applications are only open to those who have been registered for our forums approximately 6+ months Remember, this is one of the main things you will be evaluated on! Please take your time to make a good impression IMPORTANT: Read every question and answer every question to the best of your ability Applications will be closed November 20, 2010! Even if you aren't chosen from the start, your application will be kept on file and we'll look at it later on when the need for Crew arises!
