I'm a rebel.
Hey there, Please use the Good/Bad clue stickies at the top of this forum for all of your TT pictures. :) Additionally if you have data on the new clues you can post them in the General Discussion sticky for this occasion. Thanks. :)

READ HERE FIRST FOR TEMPLATE!
Lul ily tim. It's a big deal now ;) Yes, well, the Knowledge Base has a knack for getting things wrong, which is why TIF does original research like this. I'm not saying don't research, I'm just saying where most of the rewards are. Also, these are probably all accurate because why would they say you can get something when you can't? Jagex routinely has things wrong in the KB Gee, look at that, all the new rewards in the guide are exactly the same ones from the page I mentioned. Yes the rewards page is fairly similar to what the KB provides, but we need much more information than what is provided in the KB for the Items Database, which is why we need detailed information on rewards. Yes the KB is wrong a lot, but you're right they wouldn't usually be wrong with the core parts of the guide such as which rewards you can actually get. What they do tend to fumble with is xp values (ie, how much xp I get for making a potion, etc.)

@Economy - You done goofed up.
I've removed multiple posts from this thread that were an attack on the author and completely off topic. You've all had your fun, so now let's please get on with the topic. If you have nothing to add, please don't post needlessly. Thanks. Cowman_133 Tip.It Administrator

Tip.It Times - 1st August 2010
Actually they do... there are stringent editorial controls about what can or cannot be said so we see much less of it in top newspapers. Also after the fact some authors have issued apologies or retracted their comments or set the facts straight if they were wrong. Right but I'm talking after publication here. Yes the authors can issue apologies, retract comments and set facts straight, but they can't go back and edit their published article.

How about we don't bash individual authors and instead debate the content of their articles? Thanks.

Tip.It Times - 1st August 2010
Hold up. I feel this discussion is going in circles. Obviously everybody has their own opinions and it seems here that nobody is going to budge on the matter. But that is perfectly alright, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. First of all, the Tip.It Times is authored by our Editorial Panel. What is written by the Editorial Panel is therefore the opinion of the individual author and their views do not reflect those of the owner, the administration nor Tip.it as a whole. What this essentially means is that the times is the perfect place to voice opinions on current RuneScape events as this article does. The Panel encourages discussion and debate (but not flaming and personal attacks..) and therefore there will always be some topics which are more controversial than others. That should be a given. People writing for an editorial paper don't say what they think everybody would like to hear - they say exactly what they think. This promotes discussion and debate. The article published this week by Racheya is about a current event and I feel it was a perfect topic for the times this week. Many valid points were raised in the article. After reading the article, you know exactly what the author's viewpoint on the matter is and some of you disagree with it. That is exactly what the Times is about. Opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own and everyone is entitled to voice their opinions in an article. This is not the first article to upset anyone and it will certainly not be the last. When we're talking opinions, where there is no right or wrong answer, it is impossible to hit a topic everyone agrees with. Such a topic just does not exist. However, it is obvious some bits of the article come off in a condescending nature. There is no denying this. I'm sure the author would agree that had these bits been worded better it would have improved the article. But the article has already been published. You don't see top newspapers editing their stories because they were raising controversy. And therefore I see no reason why Tip.It would modify or edit the article because of some controversy raised by it, except in the case of legal issues. The Panel stands by the article, condescending or not, because that is what the panel believes in - Debate and Discussion. Could have been written differently, but the fact is it was not and it would show that the panel does not take pride in their publications if they were to edit or remove articles because of a little bit of controversy. The Panel fully recognizes that it may not have been the best worded article, but what exactly can be done about it? Finally, some of you are persistent that the author was directing this article towards a specific group of players. Although in this case that is absolutely false (the article was written prior to posts made by the author on any topics on the matter), I fail to see what is wrong with this. If someone delivers a speech that you totally disagree with and you write a very one sided article against it, what is the problem there? That is exactly what an editorial is. And that is exactly what this article is. The strong opinions of the author on a matter that disgusts them. This leaves a wide space for someone to step up with a counterarticle on the subject presenting the other side of the matter, perhaps as strongly opinionated as this one is. In conclusion, there is absolutely no way we can say articles like this will never surface again. Why would we obstruct someone's opinions on a valid topic of discussion well within what is appropriate on our website? Perhaps this will ease some of your concerns, maybe it will fuel them. But this is exactly where the Panel stands on this matter and this is exactly how the Administration feels on the matter. Disagree if you want. It's your opinion, no? Cowman_133 Tip.It Administrator

An Elitist's View on Crashing
I have split off several posts from this topic. I am certainly not picking sides on this issue, but I am concerned with that fact that a moderator's ruling has been considered a joke. It is never acceptable to argue with a moderator's ruling in public. Now this is for a couple of very good reasons. Firstly it will involve others who really have nothing to do with the matter at hand and just escalate the issue to the point that it got to now. Secondly you will always get farther with an issue if you take it up privately with the moderator in question, or if that doesn't help an administrator can be added to the conversation to assess the situation and give you a firm decision. I think in this case the post at hand looks a lot like spamming, and you cannot fault a moderator for mistakenly considering a post as spam when it is borderline like that. I've decided to leave it for now, but I am asking that the matter be dropped. If there is a problem or a concern with this, please contact me directly via PM. Cowman

Stellar Dawn Fansite?
We really have not come to a decision about where we would like to go with this, so at this time a partnership isn't really on the table until we decide if we're even going to operate a SD fansite.

Court Cases Guide
Typically we do not provide strategy tips as there are many ways to do things most of the time. Although a recommended way to win the case is something to look into in the future. Thanks. DK

Those annoying underlings
Remember the color chosen must be suitable across all color schemes, which is the main reason we avoid using color. It is possible to remove the underlining, as done in the Shops field of items entries and the required items section of quest guides. Underlining is the typical signification of a link and helps you distinguish which text is linked. If we were to remove underlining like done in items and quests, it would be hard to tell what is linked and people may think we have gotten a chance to link all the entries when we actually have not. I can see what you mean about it being annoying, but we'll have to look into a better solution than coloring it cyan.

Dungeoneering Key Tool
Cleaned this topic up as there was a little bit of confusion. JavaScript is perfectly alright for this tool and Tip.It would be delighted to host this tool, with full credit to you of course, for the public. Keep us updated on it's progress and when you feel it is finished we can work out the details through a private message. Thanks so much for this offer - this will be quite a nifty addition to the website! :) Cowman_133 Tip.It Crew Leader

Decent free web page space
 Thanks. Bad rep for what? Considering it's easy to register a [LikelyScam] domain you get tons of idiots using them to attempt to scam and other things. Some people will avoid [LikelyScam] domains because it is so easy to run into a scam on them.
