quick ipod question
There's an easier way. First off, you have to realize that you can put songs on an iPod in two different formats: ones that you can play back on the iPod, and data files, which can't be played on your iPod, but can be transfered just like you'd use a thumb drive. To transfer songs, first: 1. Open to My Computer with your iPod plugged in. 2. Open your iPod folder (one of the hard drives in My Computer). 3. Find the folder your songs from iTunes are stored in (if you can't find one, simply create a new folder on the desktop, and drag and drop the files from iTunes into that folder). 4. Drag and drop that folder into the open iPod folder (the one you found on My Computer). 5. Unplug your iPod. 6. Plug your iPod into your new computer. 7. Find the iPod folder in My Computer. 8. Drag and drop the music folder out of your iPod folder onto the desktop. 9. Open iTunes. 10. Click File>Add Folder to Library 11. Add the music folder to your new computer's iTunes library. 12. Sync the new songs to your iPod. Hope this helps you out a little.

Runescape scene in 3D
I think it's great. I got AoI (thanks Nadril =D) and I'm working my way through the hourglass tutorial. I'm just about to render it. A couple of suggestions for your project: First, there's too much space behind. I think you can add stars, which would be one thing, but more buildings would be better. It needs to be lighter, as people have said, and the buildings also need some more texturing, especially the farthest back one. Great work so far! You've really got me interested in what AoI can do, and yours is looking amazing!

What's AOI? I'd love to know, that looks great so far. I hope it's free, I can't afford to pay for programs. =D

Is Tip.It Wrongly Rating Quests?
You're right, although Tip.It lumps together 'experienced' and 'master' quests under the same roof. If you don't want to quote Shaz, quote me. =P

Your 2008 Runescape Resolution!
To get around 95 runecrafting. I think it's going to take about a year and two months, maybe three, to get 99, but if you stick summer in there, who knows? 99 would be my penultimate year-long goal. Wouldn't I love to see you get that. Good luck! If you don't keep in touch with me I'll throw you in the river.

Right Click Players - Total Level, Not Combat Level?
I have to take exception to this. The whole idea of being able to see your opponent's combat level originated when you could PK anywhere. So, the game WAS originally meant to be combat based. Simply because it's become MORE skill oriented, doesn't mean it's completely skill oriented. On-topic, I think this is a good idea. However, what would happen to the colours? Would they be two different ones if they had a huge combat level but a low total compared to you?

Jagex - Launching two new games next years.
Okayy, so we've got MechScape. Any speculation on what the third game might be? I think it could be first-person, seeing as they only said 'online games', and didn't get any more specific than that. They're obviously leaving the door open to speculation on this one, so it could (highly unlikely) be an FPS if they wanted to. (Is it possible to make an FPS with Java?) But it says games. I think they're going for two moderate-sized games, maybe with set plotlines?...

"Runescape : an education that kids don't need?"
Damnit, Makoto! You always say exactly what I want to say ages before I want to say it =( However, I have to agree that the article does make some points. Admittedly, nearly all of the points are true, except they are extremely coloured by a seemingly biased mind. Yes, we do have all the things mentioned in the article, but they're much, much less pronounced. For example, gambling is put forth as a huge part of the game, as big as Thieving. Not true! BA is the only place I've seen gambling (excluding Death Plateau, I think, where you have to get a guy drunk and then win at dice for the secret code). Why not put alcoholism forward as a part of RuneScape that could injure children? I know (from a painful recent experience...) that alcohol can be extremely bad, and it's a helluva lot more prominent in today's world than gambling is. Gambling is not a small problem, but alcoholism is constant, no matter your location, age (excluding minors, and not even then - I know a few extremely alcoholic fifteen-year-olds, and in my size town, a few is representative of a huge number), or gender, while gambling is prevalent more in Las Vegas than anywhere, and far more popular in the young, rich people. Also, alcoholism is larger than gambling in RuneScape, and yet it was not put forward as an issue. I think that if the author wanted to pick on the small things, he could've chosen bigger small things to pick on. However, this isn't to say that all the things in the article are small - scamming and insults run rampant throughout the game, especially in F2P. And addiction - that's another thing. But if you're going to deal with big things, deal with big things only. You're making the game seem worse than it is by placing gambling next to scamming as a problem.

I think you should have a go at stickying the topics, number one doesn't seem to be getting much traffic just sitting out there.

Smithing on tutorial island - Over level 10
Likely, the bug was created because the Level 3 cap was built to restrict when you could make one, five or ten, but when people make-X, the code simply gives them normal experience. You can't gain exp off of anything you used to be able to do (making the bars), but they just forgot to add the line of code that capped the experience.

The RUSH trivia thread!
Hehe, you're getting the hard ones. It was Great White North, with Bob and Doug Mackenzie. I think '68, and by Geddy, Alex and John Rutsey. Why did John Rutsey leave the band after their first tour?
-
The RUSH trivia thread!
Nope. Earlier in the thread, we talked about the 'synthesizer age' starting with Signals. You can really hear a difference in the band's music at this point - they agreed that Alex should take more of a background role for a while, and bring Geddy's synths to the front. It ended with Hold Your Fire being the final album, and with Presto Alex came into more prominence. My Favourite Headache? Which collaboration earned Geddy (not Alex or Neil - it was in the break between Test for Echo and Vapor Trails) a Top Ten pop hit?
-
The RUSH trivia thread!
Roadshow. Buddy Holly - "Burning for Buddy". Which Rush album was the final album of the 'synthesizer age'?

Why no multi-quote button?
RSC use Invision Power Board, not phpBB like TIF uses.

How much time do you spend on a post?
Honestly, I think it depends not on the original topic, but on the forum. For example, in Debate Club, I've spent half an hour on one post (it ended up taking a full browser window, lol). However, in General, there isn't so much that's worth discussing in-depth, so my posts sometimes become one-liners or single paragraphs. I do try to put enough into my posts do provoke a little discussion, though.

Great read! I'm gonna have to download some of them, you make them sound really good. I'm glad we finally got this going. Assasin - mine should be in within a couple of weeks. It's gonna take a while - eighteen original albums, one cover album, six or seven videos and four hits compilations to write up. =D
