  1. Ok, let me first say that this is not and was never meant to be a way to immediately cure the world of autoers. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s just meant to be a way of slowing them down. The think is with rune mysteries is that it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a fixed quest. It is always the same for every player. This means that one person could write a very detailed set of instructions in Chinese and suddenly every Chinese person would be able to do the quest. With this quest, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s meant to be different for every person so writing this set of instructions would be virtually impossible. I understand what you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re saying about many of the ID numbers being known already, but there are loads of objects without a respawn place and that you can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t buy from any shop (pastry dough, limpwort roots and law runes are 3 that instantly came to my mind). So long as there was an object like this on the list, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t quite see how a program could be written to do the quest. Also, rune ess miners are a lot harder to find as ess gives hardly any mining xp so it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s hard to tell whether they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re a bot or a real player. And anyway, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know about p2p worlds, but the number of yew autoers out numbers the number of ess autoers on f2p worlds by at least 50 to 1. Sorry, it looks as if what I wrote was unclear. I used the word "random" to mean unrelated objects. But it would be posible to make a quest with an objects list that's different for everyone because I'm almost sure there's already a similar idea in place for one of the members quest. As for the "do the quest and then auto idea" I did answer it on page one. here's a copy and paste of my argument: Now if these people spend their lives doing this kind of job, it's very unlikely that they actually speak english, so they would have to wait until an english speaking person was available to do their account. This means that it would take even more time to set up an autoing account. I hope this addresses your point.
  2. The scripting for a program that could do that would be huge. It would have to be able to identify 100's of different words, remember the locations of 100's of different objects and be able to go to these locations and pick up these objects (also some don't have a fixed spawn place so would have to be made by the program). It would also have to be able to cross barriers (wilderness ditch), talk to NPCs and buy items in shops. There are probably a loads of other things that would have to be written just for this one quest. It would take ages.
  3. Please help develop the idea by suggesting a way round it (if you can think of one). By finding flaws, we can improve the quest so that it will be harder to get around.
  4. Yes, this is 100% true. It would not be the end to macroers. BUT it would severely mess them around. Let's just pretend for a minute that the life of a macro involves someone guiding them through tutorial island and then putting on the autocutting program. This takes all of 20 minutes. Now if there was a quest, that would take another 20 minutes to complete, this doubles the time a person would have to spend setting up the accounts. This would surely lead to fewer autoing accounts. If you then think that a large amount of the autoers are people from china and korea (mentioned in a jagex post) Now if these people spend their lives doing this kind of job, it's very unlikely that they actually speak english, so they would have to wait until an english speaking person was available to do their account. This means that it would take even more time to set up an autoing account. I hope this addresses your point. For one, Autoers do not guide their characters through Tut Island, they use an Auto to get through. Also, Jagex contradicts your Bolded point directly, it says the vast majority are people who just play repetitively to gain and sell gold, it says nowhere that they auto it says PEOPLE who PLAY to collect gold. Not People who auto to collect gold. Oh my god, I said autoers instead of farmers. Watch me go cry myself to sleep. Does it really matter? For the sake of this thread, they're practically the same thing. Anyway, if anything, your point make this idea better. It not only messes up autoing accounts, it also screws over those who just play to sell gold. It's a win, win situation. Secondly, I'll freely admit to not knowing everything about autoing. However, before posting this thread, I did try and find out as much as I could about different autoing programs. On none of them did I find a way to auto through tut island. I'm not saying that there isn't an autoing program that you know about that can do this, I'm just saying I couldn't find it. And finally, please don't try to imply that I've bolded something that I haven't. If you look through all of my posts on this thread, you'll see that I have bolded nothing.
  5. Wow, I'd love to see that!!! Just upload the picture to comewhere like photobucket, copy the location , past it into a post, highlight and click the "Img" button.
  6. Thanks for the support! I'm not too sure about the different places thing as I dont want the quest to be too confusing or take too long for normal player to do. I'm not against your idea, I just dont think it's needed. Lol, thanks for pointing it out. It's corrected now (along with my spelling of but as butt...) Thanks for the support everyone!!!
  7. I'm really glad you like the idea. I think your idea for what to have in the quest is really good And I'm actually going to edit the first post now to include your ideas (don't worry, I'll make sure the ideas are acredited to you). =D> =D>
  8. Wow, I'm glad someone else had the same idea. Great minds and all that :D I like your idea, but there is one problem. The people who run the macroing accounts have a virtually unlimited amount of money. Even though I understand that they would be hurt by your idea to pay 100k, I'm pretty sure it would hurt real players a lot more. For instance, you suggest that you have to pay 10k to be able to use the shop beside Lumbridge castle. That's usually the first place a new player sees. I'm pretty sure that this will scare off a lot of new players and encorage begging (I can imagine the calls of "10k plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" already).
  9. Yes, this is 100% true. It would not be the end to macroers. BUT it would severely mess them around. 10. I know why you're suggesting this, but this would really encorouge afk training. Everything you need to alch is stackable so you could set up your account with loads of noted items and loads of nats and just set it to auto-alch all day (assuming you dont get a random - Can you get them while alching?)
  11. I did actually say in the original post that it would be different each time:
  12. Random events dont work and they inconvenience normal players too much (I remember losing out on a rune med drop from a lesser because evil bob decided to take me to skaperune before I could telegrab it :( And I'm not an expert, but I think macros work by clicking a pixel colour. As there will be 100+ of a certain colour pixel on one yew tree, the macro wouldn't always be clicking on the same one so I dont think that would work.

  14. I came up with this idea a while ago but didn't think about it seriously until I posted it on the awful "Why are there Yew trees in f2p?" thread and actually got support. I'm not saying this would work 100% but it would definately hinder the macroers a lot more than normal players. Basically one way I've thought of to slow the macroers down is to introduce a new quest. A really easy one sorta like "A new illness has hit Runescape and it's killing all the yew trees" and you have to complete the quest to be able to cut them. You'd obviously have to be a high level woodcut to start the quest (maybe 60?). The quest would be easy but random. Just like the oracle in Dragon Slayer, you have to get 4 random things and bring them to someone (wize old man?) so that he can cure the trees. The things you would have to get would be different for each person (I believe that's there's already a similar system on one of the members quests) and they wouldn't be very expensive so it wouldn't be that hard for skillers to complete. A very good idea by Id_Suge was that at least one of the items would be something that you could easily get in the wildy but it would be more difficult to get anywhere else. For example, a Plank or Big Bone can most easily be got from the wilderness but there are other ways of getting them in case a skiller is very scared of going up there At the end there'd be some kind of woodcut xp reward (Maybe 1k?) It would mean that a human (who could read english) would actually have to complete the quest so it would require a lot more effort on behalf of the macroers. Now I appreciate that this idea requires a bit of work for it to become something that could actually be implimented so I would really love any suggestions or criticisms (Or even more support! \ !) EDIT: If you say positive stuff without anything negative, I'm going to put you in the support list. If I make a mistake and put someone in the who doesn't want to be, please just message me or say it in a post, and I'll fix it asap.
  15. They only heal 3hp each. You'd have to spend your whole time clicking on the pancake symbol in order to eat enough for any fight over combat level 20.
  16. Yes it is just the autoers that are the problem. If there were no macroers, would you still be proposing this idea? It is a lot easier to get level 60 woodcutting on a high level account than on a pure skiller (access to better willow cutting places etc.) so I really doubt your "drop trading from skillers to main" problem is as big as you're making out. And for the love of god, please stop reusing the phrase " argumentum ad populum". It didn't work the first 9 times, I doubt it's going to work now. And if you do insist on using it, can you please understand it? Simply put it means "Just because loads of people say something, it doesn't make it true". What it DOES NOT MEAN is "If only one person is saying something, that automatically makes it true"
  17. Rune trimmed green of course!!! :D  :D Guthix FTW!!!
  18. I got scammed out of 2 diamonds this way (before I knew where the "report abuse" button was #-o ). And it inspired me the increase my crafting until I was able to cut everything myself!!! BTW if anyone does want something cut, I trade cuts for uncuts and always have at least 30 of every gem at any one time so just add me!
  19. Wow, well done man, really good stats! Now just keep going!
  20. I'd take level 126. I don't see the point of party hats. When it comes down to it, what can you actually do with a party hat?
  21. Freeze in Lumbridge. I couldn't get over how many people were playing and how they were doing everything so fast. I literally sat back from my computer and went "wow".
  22. Not that I would ever share my account, but if they were going to implement this idea, it should be with some kind of master system on it. Like someone has the "master" password and someone else has a different password. And the other person could never change it, or access the bank or something like that. I fully appreciate this isn't well written, but it's hard to put what I'm trying to say into words.
  23. same guy: he:wanna be my gf me:ok *i log out and log back in after 4 of 5 hours* he:i'm braking up wit you he:i don't want to hurt your feelings but i don't want a gf from Europe me:im not hurt this is just a game he:well mot to me he:when your 17 you don't fake dates me:it's a kids game, everithing is fake he:i dont fake dates he:im glad im braking up with you me:me too he:i bet your a man me:am not me:im going to post this to forum me:and every1 will laugh he:go ahed, im not scared he:i will post this to forum too he:and everyone will see that your a man!lolololol *i log out and post this* :D lol Well I didn't want you to be a lier
  24. I was mage training on the lesser in the wizards tower when a lvl 18 noob comes along.. Noob: Teleport me in there Me: What, Are you joking? Noob: No teleport me in there Me I wont do that for 2 reasons, 1 you'd die and 2 there is no such spell Noob:I wouldnt die!!! I'd kill that **** Me: there's no such spell, cant be done. Noob: yes there is I killed one in Varrock, now teleport me in there. Me: There is no lesser demon in varrock Noob: Hahaha N00b!!! yes there is and I killed it with silverlight!!! Me: that's completely different, that was for a quest Noob: so? Me: you couldn't kill one normally Noob: Omg Yes I cud, you're just scared I'm getting fed up, so I tell him how to get to the lessers in Karmaja. 2mins later a get a pm... Noob: I'm reporting you for item scamming Me: Why? Noob: you tricked me to going to karmaja and bnow I lost my stuff Noob: Give me money or i'll report you again. And ignore...
  25. I still don't understand these replies... Did you NOT read the entire 17 other messages in this thread??? Yes, we all know it is MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you are using MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the piece of paper, not the item. Is it such a hard concept to grasp? Maybe next time, give a reason for saying it's MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, rather than just getting your post count up? Actually yes I did read every other post and nobody explicitly said "it's magic". Look, you can't even begin to understand the way magic works so you shouldn't even try. You could say "the rules that govern magic allow it to know the worth of what is written on the piece of paper". Magic isn't a real thing, you shouldn't try to use real rules to explain it.
