Lol, you offer them a mediocre title and fake royalty. Sure they'll like that, especially your archukes who are offered demotion.

I started negotiations the first year, and that's for reuniting three countries, there's still two more years to go for Iceland and Greenland, even though they've been parts of Narway and Denmark respectively.

I was thinking of the scandinavian vikings...

Is it possible to ally NPCs?

Tip.It Hegemony
It's not problematic, it's just that some (you) have to learn how to use it properly.

The wood and string are among the toughest available, the reloading is done using a crank (pulling the string would only make it become vedged in your hand). The bolts are just standard c'bow bolts or pellets and it would thus be an inaproporiate name for the research. The arbalest was at it's current state considdered inhumane and unfair, enough said. Dusty, they are thrilled to become gouvernors of varyingly big regions of my domain. They already accepted the religion.

An arbalest uses a steel prod and a stock of hardwood, it's shaped like a rifle stock. There's no way of improving it other than creating stuff that can be attached to it, like sights. To make it clear how good it is, it can shoot accurately for half the max range of a P90 and slightly harder (1,450 N harder to be precise).

An arbalest is a crossbow on steroids plus a crank to pull it, it's strong enough to pierce a knights chestplate (and I'd guess a wooden wall too)! How can you improve them?

Scorpios exist Ross. Arbalests too Rocco.

My system's going by 1%.

No, I'm taxing people, using the cash to grow various enterprices which are forced to raise salaries according to their increased income.

More miners (5,000) are brought to the shasm. The miners begin construction of a multi layered tunel complex in the shasm, constructing rooms of various sizes as they go. A merchant ship is launched, it's objective; to trade in order to get their hands on the seeds of various usefull fungi, mosses and lichen.

At 2% it shouldn't wreck wealth anyways, and I still have years til I get a large population... no, wait... I would have had years til a large population had it not been for Denmark and Sweden which are currently working their asses of to get their wealth to Norways level. Lets say growth rates over 2.5% causes avg. Income to be lowered 1% for each percent it is over.

How does the nobilty react to the change (the coup d'etat is part of the religion)?

I'm not saying we need any complicated system, we could just use simple points. Like say the US has 500,000 and Mexico has 250,000, the US wins and has [500,000-(500,000-250,000)/2=125,000] casualties.

[spoiler='Budget #3]Population: 4 988 000,00 Avg. Income: $37 094,00 Tax: 28 % Tax income: $51 806 964 160,00 Other incomes: $25 970 320 676 452,00 Income: $26 022 127 640 612,00 Expensabillity factor: 0,01 Expendables: $260 221 276 406,12 Denmark and Sweden has joined Norway, their entire budgets are used to make their standards equal to Norways (meaning I won't have to average out taxes and income, only add people). They will not be included in the budget before next year. Greenland shows signs of a willingness to follow Denmark next year, Iceland and Finland seems willing to join in two.

Maybe we should add a sort of combat system?
-
Tip.It Hegemony
You don't, it's just there to act as a number to use for calculating how much cash you can use on what you want.

Crossbow men can wield shields and wear heavy armour as opposed to archers, and they could have dirks, daggers or shorstwords in case of melee combat. Just a reminder, Retech... At my school (where I just finished my last year) there are: A large group of people who are my friends. A mid sized group I considder good friends. And most of the girls in the ninth grade (at least used to) adore me. I can guarantee you that someone in your school either hates or strongly dislikes retech (probably the person you least expect) Nope, there are some people who just are unable to get any "enemies", at my school that's a huy named Henrik.

Tip.It Hegemony
In the first hegemony we just said only people who can work counted on population at all. Edel, I find Just GDP per capita * population to be a bit too simple, you can't change taxes and avg. income there, which some people might want to do.

Lol, imagine how the world would have been if the vikings were the most evolved civilization. The Romans were smart, but they didn't really invent many physical things, only better ways to use them.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
Ross, cranequins are just crossbows, at least according to wikipedia. Troll, the Romans weren't great on technology, they were just smarter than everyone else (except the Greeks).
