    Guys a landmark achievement just happened. I have actually mined and smelted 100k gold bars since I began this journey. I am shocked, awed, and frightened all at the same time :blink:. 99 smithing is still a long ways off and I still have 65k bars to chew through. I truly do not know if I am crazy enough to follow through with this but I am getting tantalisingly closer and closer. Several people keep asking what I'm going to do with the bars once this is all over. Selling it would help a poor miner such as myself get a bit of gp in her bank but it would leave me guilty for not capitalizing on the crafting xp. To be honest though, it would be hard to make inexpensive gold jewellery because there is no such thing as inexpensive gold jewellery XD. I could try saph stuff but the xp makes it quite unworthy and it would take well over the amount of gold bars I currently have. At the end of the day I'm just happy to have faithfully kept my bars this long and watch them grow for the fun of it.

    I just happened to achieve a total level of 1337 today :D. It is a level which naturally many aspire to due to its long history of internet eliteness. In reality its still a rather poor total level but I shall still bask in the glory of this moment! After all, its only taken me 3 years to get to these amazi-cough-not so amazing heights. Ah well, I'm truly a miner and smither at heart <3.

    Psst I'm aware that I have scary combat gear on and it says I got a farming level. I got hooked on slayer, managed to get an xp lamp, and decided to level farming he, he, he...

    In other news, I had a rush of exams that slowed down my progress quite a bit. I managed to scramble on today, grabbed a few paltry levels in other stats, and finally went to the gold mines! Shortly after half an hour of mining I scored myself 18 million mining xp! I'm certainly one happy camper :^_^:...

    Lady Shahdie here, pleasure to make your acquaintance! Some who have glimpsed my signature know I was one of the crazed hopefuls dreaming of 99 mining. Well I did manage to dream my impossible dream and achieved my epic goal! The dream doesn't end here though... I have decided for my next test of fate to wield my hammer and forge a path to the glory of 99 smithing! Below you will find a little about myself, details about my RuneScape character, and pictures of my levels along the way.

    [hide=Shahdie in Real Life]

    I am a 20 year old college student. I am currently attending a Cal State college and majoring in English. I have future plans however to go to Cinema school and get an education in the art of film making. I always had a passion to tell stories and I love the way film can bring a story to life. I was born in America but do possess Persian blood in me and my RuneScape name "Shahdie" means happiness (so you can also refer to me as Lady Happiness :D). I am a total cat person and owner of a mischievous Maincoon but recently adopted a dog into my family. I am a rare breed of girl who enjoys playing video games, computer games, and any other enticing virtual adventure. I am particularly fond of RPGs (probably due to my story telling background). I also love graphic design and try some amateurish attempts in Photoshop (like designing my own sigs and headers).[/hide]

    [hide=Shahdie on RuneScape]The following is a run through of my character on RuneScape.

    Where'd You Hear About RuneScape?
    A friend of mine at school mentioned it once. I became intrigued by his description of it, so I started researching it and decided to sign up.

    F2p or P2p?
    I spent a long stint during my RuneScape career as a pure F2P player. While I said in my previous blogs that it was my desire to obtain membership when I personally possessed the meansmy first exposure to it was thanks to a very special gift from a very special friend (Kietaro <3). I now possess members again thanks to securing a reasonable income as a teachers assistant at my university. Members is quite an exciting new experience but at the end of the day, good old F2P will possess the most dearest place in my heart.

    Favorite World?
    Randomness is my mantra. I have no favorite world or home world.

    Why the Air Tiara?
    I've been getting this one alot lately so here's the story. Ever since I was a noob on RuneScape I always wanted a piece of clothing that would define my look (apart from the terrible looking bronze armor). I would scavenge for chef hats or shop at the Varrock clothing store and wear the items short periods of time before dumping them. One day as I passed the Falador air altar I saw a silver object on the ground that attracted me (similar to the way a child is attracted to "Oooo shiny!") I picked up the tiara and immediately fell in love with it. Even when I matured from noobdom and reached levels where I could wear more appropriate runite gear, I could not bear to give up the tiara and allowed it to be the signature item that would define my look. I certainly love how it goes quite well with my Saradomin now.

    Other Stats?
    Though I am truly committed to smithing at the moment, I occasionally take a break from my hammer and casually level other stats...(please don't poke too much fun at their noobiness :oops:)

    Why 99 Smithing?
    There were several 99s that peaked my interest during my journey to 99 mining. Despite my old adage that "I'm not really a fighter," combat was a great way for me to take a break whenever I needed to and I'm quite sold on going for 99 def some day. However, I'm still a skiller at heart so I still decided against a combat 99. There were also the other gathering skills such as fishing (catch fishies at a faster rate, yes please) and woodcutting (not as a big a fan of wc however it still has its merits) that are impossible to be purchased. However, at the end of the day, I'm truly a Mason (no pun intended one of the clans I happen to be a member of) of Runescape. And what is a Mason without the ability to wrought amazing pieces out of precious metals? So after answering this question in my mindI knew smithing would have to be the next 99 to chase![/hide]

    I finally bit the bullet and made an entry for the machinima contest. It came to me as I was strolling through Varrock just like any other dayand a particular gypsy/psychics booth caught my eye.

    I have no dreams of grandeur or making it to the finales but if I do happen to make itI sadly would not be able to accept a trip to Jagex (got enough real life matters on my plate as it is :( ). Lifetime membership wouldnt hurt thoughhe he he!

    And yesI promise this is the last machinima blog entry youll see for this month!

    Hey blog readers...

    The other night I paged through my old mining blog till morning and it brought back many fond memories. I had only just been a RuneScape player for a few months and was already enamored with the game. I had made some very dear friends who have now retired or are not as active as before (namely John Cable14 and The Foo 1000 <3:). 99 mining was a goal that seemed far off and to me it would be an endless journey that would keep me committed to playing RuneScape. I was also an F2P player at the time, that was a humble level 63, who dreamed of wearing some nice saradomin armor (the god armors of course being the pinnacle of F2P armors).

    It was an interesting day at good ol' Rimmington Mine that lead me to becoming a Tip.It blogger. I was chatting with my friend The Foo 1000 via pm and he was keeping me very good company as I toiled away with my pickaxe. He remarked how amazed he was at how I had come along way since we had met at the Lumbridge Swamp mithril mine. When I mentioned to him that I am going to attempt to go for 99 mining, he told me, "Lady you should blog it!" So I took his advice and decided to create a blog here on Tip.It, since I was already a member of the forums, and had grown an attachment to this amazing community.

    Writing up my first post on blogscape was a little scary! People don't realize how hard it is to truly introduce yourself :ohnoes:. I racked my brain, trying to think of how people could ever recall who I was, or ever bother to read the babble that I wrote. Then it hit me...whenever I frequented the Mining Guild, alot of regulars there would say, "Look its the girl with a tiara who likes to mine alot! Don't you ever leave?" It was a nickname that gave me a laugh whenever I saw it and thought it was a nice alias to go by. So I stamped my blog with tiara and mining goodness, said a prayer, and finally posted it.

    Dusty Footage from the Archive

    Since the first day that I blogged, I've had a rush of achievements follow. Its like the community was behind my back, pushing me along, to get me to achieve my goal. I recall posting this entry when I was near 85 mining and decided to do a pretend rune mining run. It was an embarrassing affair and I was almost ashamed to write about it. Despite the failure of it, I had messages coming in from several Tip.Iters offering help, advice, or motivation...it amazed me how much this community cared about my success! Things only got better and better...

    So I just want to say, thank you Tip.It community for making me feel welcome then - and for the years to come!

    Hello again blog readers! As I sit here wearily smithing at a godforsaken hour of the night...I discover something very amusing. Apparently cats can snore! My cat has decided to rub it in my face the fact that not only is she a nocturnal creature but she beats me to bed every night :rolleyes:. I have to admit it is rather cute seeing her all snug up and blissfully snoozing in her bed. Friends of mine requested pictures and recordings of her sleeping habits, so I obliged them:

    Yes congratulations to PieisEaten! Their name came as entry #1 out of my virtual magic hat! I had a blast doing this little giveaway and love the excitement it created around here. I really hope you all have the best holiday season. Remember to give, give, and give some more come this Christmas...

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

    Hello dear blog readers! What can I say? Im on cloud nine! Not only am I nearing 93 smithing but several other delights just happened to walk by my way.

    Those of you who read my last entry may remember I posted a video on my musings regarding the strange power. I was more than happy with the few hundred views it got and ran off down to the caverns to get back to mining up some gold for smelting.

    A few friends who saw the vid pmed me and encouraged me to tweet it to Jagex. I didnt think much of it but went ahead and tweeted this ominous phrase to them:

    A day or so went by and I laughed at some of the comments, chatted with friends, and gave my cat her twice hourly massages. Before heading to bed I read up on the Orb of Oculus oncemore and dreamed of future videos with amazing camera angles and close-ups.

    I woke up the next morning and continued about my normal routine. Morning slipped into afternoon and I rolled by some of the chats I normally visit. Immediately I was informed that the crazy folks at JagexACTUALLY RETWEETED MY TWEET!

    I was flabbergasted! Immediately I opened up a tab and loaded YouTubemy eyes literally widen to see the damage O.O. While Im certainly no Excl of videomakers nor do I expect any sort of mass stardom to ever happen to meits nice to even have over 5 people interested in the videos that I make XD!

    One thing that I must say though, is how much you people out there really rock. Any endeavor Ive taken regarding RuneScape has always been so well received. I never expected 2.5 years ago when I signed up to play this game that Id be making so many friends along the way! While my MMO repertoire is a small oneout of the few that Ive tried, I can certainly say RS has the nicest community out of all of them.
    So as I have done in entries beforeoncemore Id like to saythank you guys.

    It seems Halloween is mere moments away and everyone is getting into the spooky spirit! Everyone that is besides my college :(...sadly they do not allow costumes on or around the last day before Halloween. I try to dress up when I can as its an activity that is hard to grow out of :P. Last year I dressed up as a character from Cirque du Soleil by putting together a few things from my closet and applying a feather headdress to one of my favorite theatre masks. There's a chance I may catch Cirque's newest show that is coming to Santa Monica as well! I am uber excited about it!!!

    Can't wait to see what Jagex is cooking up for bringing Halloween to Gielnor again :grin:...

    Hey all! My leveling is going splendidly and my gold bars have finally surpassed the original amount I had smithed! If all continues to go well I may amass close to 170k gold bars by the time my journey is over...that is unless Jagex creates a super awesome smithing update that makes leveling nearly as free for me as it is now! The Living Rock Caverns have truly become my new home and there's not a rock in that place that doesn't tremble in fear when I arrive :twisted:. Ok maybe that is an exaggeration, but I am not letting a single concentrated gold vein have the least bit of rest heh.

    In other news, I have found a new addiction lately besides mining in the caverns and smithing my bounty, I have become a fan of the amazing web-musical known as Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Yes I admit I was a VERY late adapter of this awe-inspiring musical but at least now I finally had the chance to see it and enjoy it. For the past week it was all I could ever watch as I toiled away in the dark depths of the mine. If you have never had the pleasure of seeing this horrible collaboration by the Whedon brothers...then you must see it now:

    The above is just a little fun graphical glitch that is achieved with the candy cane spin emote from A Christmas Warble. For an explanation of how to achieve it see this. I got inspired to do this since it looked incredibly fun and as homage to the amazing performance I'm about to see...you guessed it, I will actually get to go to see Cirque du Soleil's "Ka" in Vegas! It was one of those, you have to wait till the last minute to be informed if there are tickets for you kind of deal. I'm so happy it worked out :D!

    In other news, I hit over 19 million mining xp today! It was certainly a nice early Christmas present and I am eager to reach 93 before I head back to university. I may even get to 60k bars, perhaps 70k very shortly. So don't be surprised to see me making countless Edgeville furnace runs on world 99 these next few weeks. Well, thats it for now...I wish all of you a very fun and happy Holiday. See you after Christmas Tip.It!

    Say Cheese!
    Hey all! Yes I'm posting another blog update already...shocking isn't it? Its nothing really smithing related I just thought this was worth a share and a laugh :lol:. Apparently Jagex has finally given us RSOF avatars (p2p only sadly). I rustled up to the photo booth and got my mug photographed. Its nice to have a face on the forums now but I can't help but find my grin a little cheesy looking:

    *Curtsies*
    Another interesting tidbit added today is the rather ladylike (or should I say unladylike), curtsy emote. No worries gals, we can still bow just like the fellas, and they can return the favor and curtsy right back! There's a slight glitch however...I don't think the Queen of England would find this an acceptable show of respect:

    Thoughts?
  14. Lady_Shahdie
    You heard right! Lady Shahdie has a good reason to be Lady Happiness today cause she got 86 smithing! Ok sorry for talking in the third person but I am simply ecstatic :grin:! I had no idea that I would eat through 85 like tissue paper. My gold bars are just stacking up and I am attacking those Living Rock Cavern veins like crazy. Someone please slow me down :lol:...

    [hide=Level 86 screenshot][/hide]

    In other news, I did it...I reached the 15 million mining xp mark! Things are looking up Tip.Iters! Cue "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"...
  15. Lady_Shahdie
    Hallelujah! It has been done, I'm at lucky 87 SMITHING! My gold bar stack is over 10k once more and I could not be happier :grin: . I truly wonder if I can continue gathering my own gold throughout this whole journey? I think I can! I think I can! I THINK I CAN!!!

    Chugga-chugga, choo-choo!

  16. Lady_Shahdie
    Oh my goodness, another blog post so SOON?! Yes thats right, 88 smithing is finally mine baby! I can now smith up to full adamant yowza :shock:! I am feeling as satisfied as I did those many moons ago when I was chipping my way towards 99 mining. Though the leveling is going to get harder and harder, just as it did before, my will is almost even more strengthened than last time. I also did not know whether I would be willing to smith gold bar after gold bar in hopes of a method that would provide me with 99 smithing free of charge. So far this has spurred me to mine 18.9k gold ores to smelt at my disposal. Though this is quite a large and impressive number this is only a smidgen of the amount needed to 99. We'll see how it goes, I will continue mining and smelting them till I tire of the process and wish to level another way :).

    And yes I finally did get access to the Edgeville Furnace...
    [hide=Level 88 screenshot][/hide]

    Besides gaining a truckload of ores and bars I've hit the 16 million mining xp mark! I never envisioned being 1 million xp (let alone 3 million xp) over the experience required for level 99. This has had a positive effect on my mining rank and put me within the top 600 miners of RuneScape. I don't think I'll ever be insane enough to go for 200 million mining xp but I cannot tell you how happy I am to have even gotten this far. I just can't ever seem to put my pickaxe to rest though :grin:...
  17. Lady_Shahdie
    IT CAN'T BE TRUE! It isn't possible that I am merely 1 level away from the epic 90s...BUT IT IS! I have achieved 89 Smithing! This mad slew of smithing has caused my gold bar stack to near 30k bars...all mined by my merciless pickaxe :twisted:. The next level is getting farther and farther xp wise but my determination is just becoming greater and greater. The day is drawing near when I will don the cape of both a master miner and a master smither. I'M STOAKED!

    [hide=Level 89 screenshot][/hide]

    Besides my smithing madness, I've had a huge slew of mining xp rolling in kicking me up to a >500 rank on the highscores. I gotta a smile going across my face bigger than the Grand Canyon ^__________________________________________________________________________^ !

    I also updated my pc in the wee hours of the morning to Windows 7! I'm loving how snappy this little OS is. Nothing but bright beginnings and a sweet future ahead...
  18. Lady_Shahdie
    No...just no...have I really made it to the last stretch? I'm in shock - do I actually see level 90 smithing on my skills tab? I DO!

    I'm in a euphoria almost as great as the one I experienced when I reached this leg of my 99 mining journey. Tons and tons of gold ores were thrown into the fire in hopes of at least making it this far. Looks like it has truly paid off. To actually be able to smith a weapon that was so dear to me in my F2P days...a rune scimmy...is surreal :shock:! The last nine levels don't feel as intimidating as they should be and I can literally feel the end of my journey within my grasp. No going back from here...its on to the Final Stretch!

    [hide=Level 90 screenshot][/hide]

    This level up has come with the added bonus of passing the 17 million mining xp mark! Its just climbing, faster and faster, to new heights...
  19. Lady_Shahdie
    I gotta need for speed! I seem to be leveling at crazy fast rates :blink:...you guessed it, I'm already at 91 smithing! I shudder when I see I have nearly 50k gold bars mined and smelted by my own hands (well err, my avatar's hands). How long can I really keep this up? Each level ticks away away like the minute hands of a clock...counting down the moments till I hit this epic 99. The familiar bitter-sweet feeling I had with 99 mining has returned with this final leg of my journey. Yet again I must accept the fact another far-off goal is coming to a close. It makes me imagine what will RuneScape be like once I have achieved my two most desired goals? A question for the ages is it not?

    [hide=Level 91 screenshot][/hide]

    My mining xp is just rolling in by the truckload and I have a >400 rank on the hiscores. My pickaxe's ravenous hunger cannot be quelled...it merely craves more and more ore :twisted:!
  20. Lady_Shahdie
    Good God! I'm actually level 92 smithing and half way to achieving my epic goal! Such a milestone is highly desired in any 99 chaser's journey. I can't believe I am finding myself in the same position I was all those ages ago on my quest for 99 mining. At this point I was quite confident that I would indeed make it to the finish...I can easily say this feeling has not changed. I am still smelting away every single gold ore I've mined since the living rock caverns were released, and I have yet to tire of it. Thanks to this, I am well over 50k gold bars smelted. I'm wondering if I'll ever feel like switching over to addy plates and be done with this affair. Guess I haven't reached that point just yet :P! Onwards to glory I go!

    [hide=Level 92 screenshot][/hide]

    In other news, I may be heading to Vegas soon with my family for my Christmas vacation. We've managed to find a very nice deal on MGM Grand reservations along with tickets to see Cirque du Soleil's "Ka". I've heard so much praise of "Ka" and how it is a life changing experience to see. I was lucky enough to see "Varekai" several years ago, and believe me, it did NOT disappoint. Hopefully all will go well and I'll be able to go :)!
  21. Lady_Shahdie
    Finally! I got my rear in gear and achieved level 93 smithing! With this level brings the ability to smith noobish rune square shields :D! The levels are just ticking away like the hands on the clock and I'm feeling my goal falling within my grasp. My gold bar stack has risen to 66k bars...its just staggering to me O.O. Still haven't tired of gathering my gold just yet...someone convince me otherwise heh!!!

    [hide=Level 93 screenshot][/hide]

    In real life news, I received the amazing news that I made it on my department's Dean's List ^_^! Also looking into applying for my campus's radio program. Hope I make the cut!
  22. Lady_Shahdie
    What...ALREADY? You heard correct, I've already speeded through 93 and achieved level 94 smithing! I am actually down to the magical final five levels. Its just too awesome to wrap my head around. I have even amassed over 80k sparkly gold bars...Holy Guacamole :shock:! I'm determined to get my hands around 99 but I must take it one step at a time. Victory will soon be mine...

    [hide=Level 94 screenshot][/hide]

    In other news, the Girl With a Tiara Who Likes to Mine Alot, just reached the amazing 20 million mining xp milestone! I'm beginning to wonder if my pickaxe is merely a mining tool or another limb...?

    Thats right folks! What seemed like a snail of a level up is finally done and in the history books. I now possess level 95 smithing! My journey is literally winding down to its final stages. It makes me feel a bit teary-eyed to be honest. Ever since I began RuneScape I envisioned myself with 99 mining and 99 smithing. It doesn't seem like I'm really getting there but I actually am O.O. Of course I have some other plans once this is finished but still...this is quite a milestone for me. A new 99 shall soon be mine...

    Can it be? Can I really have reached level 96 smithing? Why yes...yes I have :shock:. I am three, count 'em, three steps away from achieving my goal. My pulse is racing at the thought of making it to the finish line. The cape I have worn for so long will no longer remain untrimmed. It will dipped at the sides into a can of cyan paint and look shinier than ever before. There will soon be no armor that I cannot smith in dungeoneering and I will be able to outfit my comrades in the hawtest of promethium plates (*cough* as I have already *cough*). Every time I tell you dear blog readers that I never pictured what these moments would be like. While that sounds really cliche it is the truth. Nothing could prepare me for this ecstasy I feel. The gratification that another long road is winding down to its end. When I got 99 mining, it really felt that another 99 would be out of reach, that I did not have the stuff to do it all over again. The fact that I'm coming close to repeating this feat proves to me I can do it. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to those of you who have constantly supported me and assured me that it is within my grasp.

    In other news, I have accumulated 23 million mining xp and approaching the ranks of RuneScape's top 200 miners. Its only gonna get better and better my friends :cool:. Also click on the banner up there if you haven't already. The mining division of the contest has had very few entries. However the current winning entry is quite astounding, not going to state it here so you won't be discouraged, search every comment page of the post if you're really curious :P.

    I can certainly say that I am truly Lady Happiness today! After a bit of an agonizing wait, I have made it to level 97 smithing. My body is shaking at the thought that I am only 2 steps away from finishing this journey. I will become a real dwarf of RuneScape by possessing one of the sweetest duo 99s. Unfortunately I'm not sure I can enlist with the other dwarfs at the Mining Guild due to a certain height requirement. All jokes aside, I am enthralled in this moment! Every level up feels like its own mini-99 to me. I get the same feeling of excitement, accomplishment, and ecstasy. I really am lucky to have so many supporters that have constantly nudged me along on this journey. Thanks a million folks <3:...

    In non-smithing news, I have a grand total of 120k gold bars and have gained 24 million mining xp. Another sweet thing that has happened to come my way, is the fact I have been deemed a champion of the Judges faction in the RuneScape Triumvirate :shock:. Its been really fun working with Tip.Iters and non-Tip.Iters alike, and the challenges have been a blast! Well thats pretty much the gist of all the happy coincidences in the life of ol' Lady S. See you all around :D!
