[hide=Caution, language]http://www.mrctv.org/videos/maher-guest-defending-islam-wake-boston-bombing-thats-lberal-bulls-t[/hide] Even a broken clock can be right twice a day. I'm kind of surprised at the hash tag #FreeJahar on twitter; those saying this guy was a patsy and the US Government was behind all of it. There is plenty of video footage of this guy placing his backpack down, then 15 seconds later the thing blowing up. You also have a guy that assassinated a police officer, stole a car and then had a nice long shoot out with police. Even if he didn't plant the bomb, the later actions are not those of an innocent man.

I regret NOTHING! TNPW encourage me to do laundry.

Two punks with bombs shutdown a city for a couple days. I'd say the terrorists won, until I saw this: http://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2013/04/19/cops-request-dunkin-donuts-stays-open/G1bOARVwHkqlf0pLmSYtPM/story.html Dunkin Donuts, America's last bastion of freedom.

Motive is easy, radical Islam. The older brother is a self described devout "muslim." He left the US for a year, probably got brainwashed and came back hating the U.S. enough to attack civilians. The pressure cooker bombs they used were the same ones described in Al Qaeda's Inspire magazine. The younger brother probably looked up to the older one, and went along just because.

Yes, quoting a rich bastard living in a different time with enough power and money to obtain all the protection he needed? Sure, it's a valid quote. I'm going to quote you next time someone quotes Obama, Bloomberg, Biden, Pelosi et al.

Looks like one of the [bleep]ers has been shot dead. Good riddance.

"Your grief is already nourishing the roots of your next nose neighbors" Well I'd never. The Next Post Will have played a computer game from the 90s, and describe what it was and how they did.

Drank a couple cans of diet mtn dew. TNPW include a youtube video.

K. Maybe we'll get more activity. TNPW do whatever they want.

I can't buy a box of 9mm rounds because all the local stores are perpetually sold out. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security is contracted to buy more than 1.6 billion rounds in the next 5 years. "Magically filling" my ass.
-
And where the government leverages their monopoly to buy out the manufacturing capacity of all 9mm rounds, effectively implementing back door "gun" control.

You keep poking fun at people that stand up against a cradle to grave nanny state government, calling their fears irrational and misplaced. Soft tyranny and oppression are very real, and the only thing that scares me more than big brother are the proles that are either oblivious to it or too apathetic to give a damn.

Not like, guys monitoring the CCTV watch private citizens undress? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/merseyside/4609746.stm

3 day rule. TNPW tell me if the 3 day rule needs changing.

I will never understand why this stuff bothers people. There's nothing to worry about unless you're committing crimes. N0 way man 1 day USA might turn totalrian and like 1984 book. u nevr kno man u nevr kno Yeah, like one day they'll be banning smoking in public places, placing a limit on the size of a fountain drink you can buy, and forcing you to participate in markets. Oh wait.
-
Following that logic, once the suspect in this case is caught in this case he/she will no longer be a terrorist? They committed terrorism, they're still a terrorist. There's also something to be said about indiscriminate and impersonal violence such as a bomb in a crowded place, or flying an airplane into a building with random people, whereas a shooter necessarily aims. The whole "white American men can't be terrorists" is stupid. Timothy McVeigh and Bill Ayers are terrorists, and they're both American, white and male. I have no problem labeling Adam Lanza, James Holmes, or Jared Lee Loughner domestic terrorists, though their motives are irrational and unclear.
-
When the white male is shot dead, the event is over and we don't need to worry anymore. When we're still looking for a bombing suspect two days later, there's reason to worry. Hence terrorist. Also we still have no idea the agenda behind the attack, hence terrorist.
-
Why am I not surprised that there isn't a push here to ban and/or strictly regulate things like pressure cookers, ball bearings, and nails? Why am I not surprised that the immediate reaction to a bombing is "deal with it and move on?" when the immediate reaction to a shooting is "ban all guns!" If there was moral consistency, one would treat both events the same way with the same push for fruitless legislation and bigger government. Think of the children!

But, can you print a printer that can print a printer? It's called a RepRap.

Maybe you should read the discussion we've been having before making grand assumptions about what "everyone thinks."

Yeah, I missed the context of your discussion.

It is surely vastly debatable whether changes in people's crime behaviour are down to guns or not. Given pretty much every developed country on Earth has been able to drop its crime rates consistently for the past couple of decades, and some of those countries have armed police while others do not, and some of those countries have a right bear arms while others do not. This line of argument is tantamount to suggesting that in countries where police aren't armed, looting is commonplace and rife. This is clearly not the case. I'd argue that in the case of rioting, people's behavior are only changed after a demonstration of extreme force, and that crowds are dissipated only after teargas, and less than lethal weapons are used.
-
To be honest, those were easy to remember examples of long periods (more than 3 days) of rioting or lawlessness. Riots are also semi-frequent around major sporting events. See Hockey in Canada, Basketball in America, Football or Rugby in the rest of the world. It's true, all of these events would be improved by guns. Funny you should say that, as most of those situations are dissipated with martial law - police or military action with guns. Guess which stores didn't get smashed? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgCiC6qTtjs

I subscribe to the view that the Founding Fathers had; when the state becomes tyrannical it's the people's responsibility to overthrow it and replace it with a new one, and the Second Amendment was the means with which the people had teeth. I also believe that it's delusional to think that any and every time you might be in trouble that the police will always be there to help. Even in America, there are periods of anarchy where unarmed law abiding citizens are in danger of losing everything, and the only help available is what they can provide themselves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_LA_riots http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Cincinnati_Riots http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_katrina#Looting_and_violence It's also understandable to think that eventually the state will be overthrown, either from forces inside or outside the country. In that instance, the people prepared with guns will be in the best place to secure their rights, and those without guns will be at the mercy of others.
