Runescape 3 is coming this summer...(BTS Bonus edition)
sees_all1 replied to SwreeTak's topic in General Discussion
Yeah. Game updates, bots are trying to log in with their old methods, and JaGEx is going "Lolz, got you, you, you, and you!" Similar to the wilderness ditch, but less obvious to legit players.- 416 replies

Runescape 3 is coming this summer...(BTS Bonus edition)

While I also have second thoughs about the performance it is not as bad as you think. Modern javascript engines (such as V8 and SpiderMonkey) compile (and optimize!) to bytecode or native machine code internally, they might even cache this. This includes things like type interference. For example "var bla = 5;" might get converted to an actual integer internally. There is also the asm.js project which was on news sites a week ago. They define a backwards compatible subset of the javascript language which lets you work with integers and floating points very efficiently. They showed a few benchmarks which were less than 2x as slow as equivalent C code (instead of 80x in one case). What I am more worried about is the performance and support of WebGL People's browsers will vary wildly, almost guaranteed that not every browser will have that. Also still the problem that the code wouldn't be compiled, which legally makes it hard for JaGEx to say "you will not reverse engineer this product..." No reverse engineering required when it's in plain text in front of you.- 416 replies

Runescape 3 is coming this summer...(BTS Bonus edition)

I'd be surprised if RS3 was written in pure javascript. Javascript is slower than Java, parsed on the fly and interpreted instead of compiled into bytecode and optimized, and is also human readable without having to decompile. I could list all the reasons why I think javascript would be a bad change, but then I'd just look like I'm hating on one thing. I don't hate javascript, I just don't think a game like RuneScape could benefit from having it's game client programmed in.- 416 replies

Sloth, because it requires the least effort. TNPW link to a youtube video of this year's FIRST Robotics Competition.

I protest your sudden demands. The Next Post Will describe their weather.

Sorry for the long time since updates. Haven't been skilling too much.

18-March-2013: Dealing with games of chance
sees_all1 replied to Unknown_Warrior's topic in General Discussion
They don't need to disable any other methods. The message has clearly been given that it is NOT wanted and is against the rules. Hell... why not use one of those annoying login popups to explicitly state it. That way there is no excuse for anyone to play the naieve card. Anyone caught doing it now risks instant ban or mute and the punishments now need to come down harsh not only on the hosts but also the players participating. Do so at own risk. Using that logic, we'd have no troubles with macroing, gold farming, scamming, spamming... Yet the game still evolves to combat each of these. Why should this rule be any different? -

There are still random elements to the game, that are still public and still readily available to players. Wonder how long it'll take for Jagex to change that. -
Guess the person that's going to post below you!

Oh hey. DV -
TNPW use this as their only rule, TTAE to not post for another 3 days. What have I done?
-
The next post will use this as their only rule. The next post is also highly encouraged to post a youtube video of interest.

I started killing revs with a gravite staff. With the new combat ability, you basically have to cast once to attack a monster, then just keep spamming the action bar. Their ranged attacks are pitiful so food isn't an issue. Although you are in high level wilderness, the gravite staff protects over pretty much everything, and mage armor is dirt cheap now.

I shoot the beer, stuff the beer, and use the diamond as one of its fake eyes. I place the beer in my living room.

D. V. Devnull forgot that everything was opposite in his alternate dimension, thus leaving the diamond behind and locking himself up. I place the diamond in plain view in a parking lot at a Hummer dealership. Nobody will find it!

Not really. If you've ever been to a horse track, the odds float. Bookmakers use markets to set odds, which is to say it's the collective knowledge and feeling of an event that determines the odds. Regardless of the outcome, they're paying less than 100% of the totals bet.

Racial quotas bother me. If the only thing you (general) notice about an organization are the people's skin colors, perhaps there's a problem with something other than the organization (someone rather). The way you've narrowly framed the OP leaves little discussion, but there's lots to be had around this topic. If an organization ever hires someone specifically because of their gender, race or sexual orientation, I'd argue it's just as bad as not hiring them for the same reason.

Does this change the new F2P max? I'm guessing JaGEx will remove f2p's member skills in the future, which would leave all of us pure f2pers in an awkward place.

I call Shenanigans. A zero tolerance policy on botting means that each botting infraction is treated the same. We've seen that some botters are banned outright, while others are given temporary bans, and some have chances to buy their account back. Well, which is it? In any case, let's all get our broomsticks!

I might buy a PS4 in about 5 years as a cheap 3d bluray player then.
-
The only thing Sony could have done to make this console worthwhile is to offer much higher resolutions than the PS3 - like a forward looking Ultra HD 4k, or somewhere above 1080p. The biggest crime with the PS3 is that games run at 720p.
